Hey guys, I now played the new Edinburgh-Glasgow route myself, which is very well done by Rivet. In this thread I want to focus on the castle of Edinburgh. This historic building is clearly the graphical highlight and thanks to the new dynamic weather system and in different daylight and seasons, it can be staged very well. The castle itself was built in the 12th century. After that it was repeatedly destroyed, besieged and rebuilt. Parts of the castle are also still used by the British military, but mainly only for ceremonial and administrative purposes. Such as the "Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo", which is a musical part of Edinburgh's festival season. Furthermore a cannon shot is fired at 1 p.m. every day, except sundays. It's called: "The One O'Clock Gun". In addition, since 1996 the famous "Stone of Scone" is back in Scotland again. It's a ritualized stone that is part of the coronation ceremony of kings, i.e. Charles the 3rd is also borrowing it for a short time this year. So this peace of rock travels from Edinburgh to Westminster Abbey in London and vice versa again. Well, traditions are debatable...
Quick update: The developers from Rivet have confirmed to add "The One O'Clock Gun" to the castle with the next patch! Found a suitable videoclip about it on youtube:
Thank you for your kind opening. Now I understand what you mean, and that's the kind of culture you're referring to. I love the detail in the production.
