The Ronkonkoma and Hempstead branches don't stop at Long Island City or Hunterspoint Avenune. Only the DE/DM30s stop at LIC

There are changes to the real Long Island Rail Road route. Full LIRR services are starting at Grand Central Terminal from Monday, Feb. 27

Currently it's shuttle trains to and from Jamaica. All 11 LIRR branches will offer services to Grand Central and Penn Station, will DTG update the route to include timetables from Grand Central?

    No

    1) LIRR isn’t set in the present day. It’s outdated as it is.
    2) LIRR still has broken signalling and a dead timetable because of the broken signalling. Matt made a busy LIRR timetable already but it doesn’t work properly so it’s basically forgotten about at this point.

Either we get a new LIRR route for TSW, or they release a GCT expansion for the Train Simulator Classic version of LIRR.

In real life Long Island City (the station on your picture) is serviced by the diesel DE30ACs with bi-level coaches, and sadly we do not have those in TSW. So why they included it in the game is a mystery. I assume they maybe planned to add them as a potential future loco-add on when they originally made the route, but then never got around to do it.

I would not bet on ever getting those, as LIRR seems to be one of those old forgotten routes barely held together and rarely cared for. Even though the potential is there. If they were to fix the signalling, make a busier EMU timetable, then sell the diesels with bi-level cars as a new add-on, it could be a great route. Maybe even a freight pack with LIRR shunters or NY&AR locomotives.

I wonder if they’ll add Long Beach or Babylon service into the Lirr service mode into the future or do another Lirr route like the port Washington or Huntington route.
