Subject line pretty much says it all: I'm looking for an available BR Green-er EMU that would be appropriate for the original Woodhead (*not* the Woodhead in Blue) route.

    Any thoughts gratefully appreicated.

It would have to be a 506 I guess, so someone would need to do a green reskin for the blue only one that comes with the Woodhead in Blue.

Thanks, gentlemen. I ended up using an old IHH 506 which came in both blue and green.

There was only the 506 which was electric on Woodhead, at 1500 volts, nothing else could drive on that, all the other multiple units in traffic were diesel.
Apart from the one you have chosen I don't think anyone has ever done a green repaint of the BR Blue model, I've certainly never seen one anyway in all these years.

Did you already have that, or is it still available somewhere? (Thought IHH had closed?)

It's available on UKTS, but the site is down at the moment, so can't check if it's actually still here. The file name I have here for mine is "UKTS_37888_Class506_BR_Green_Yellow_Panel_V1.0.zip". It is for the Woodhead in Blue route though, but it would be simple enough to modify your scenarios to use the 506 from that route using Locoswap or TS Tools or something.

Well done, Pookey, I never knew that existed, and it's been there since May 2018, and you can still obtain it today if you wish, I've just checked.

Always pleased to help if I can, especially as it's a UKTS file, as they are soon to be lost forever once it closes down.

It's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but I enjoy it, and you will have the 506 to reskin. I think the Woodhead in Blue route perfectly captures the atmosphere of the line at the end of its life, and I can remember seeing the 506s and 76s in the summer of 1980.

Yes, I ran into the 506 because I've been loading all of my old IHH stuff with the scenarios that came with them. Usually scenarios from vendors are really boring, but not IHH's (nor DT's as well). They are for routes that everybody has (mostly the original routes: Hagen-Siegen, GWML, ECML, etc. etc.) and they tend to have lots of surprises - not just point A to point B stuff.
