    Pardon my sarcasm. Of course I don't want any services removed. I love the BML. Is my favorite route in the game. My point is as other have mentioned numerous time on this thread is the inconsistency when it comes to US content.and when no explanation is given that frustrates.

    I was actually just thinking about this. They have mentioned unique vehicles are the performance limiter, rather than number of services.

    So we'd have for NY-Trenton:
    ACS-64
    Amfleet coaches
    Keystone cabcar
    ALP46
    Bilevel coaches
    Bilevel cabcar

    So adding the M3 and M7 would be a 33% increase in vehicles, which doesn't seem trivial, but we've had more total vehicles on routes before, so....who knows lol

    That's what I feel too. Why not explain why you can't have extra layers? Is it confidential information?

    As a customer have the right to know before purchasing a product...

    I wish we could talk about the route… cool landmarks, unique stations, personal stories. You know, the type of stuff you usually read before a route comes out.

    But on the forums, it’s 100% “my layers are missing!”, which is by all means a valid concern, but I’ve read the same stuff like 500 times now. There isn’t even a properly active discussion thread for this route, it’s all being taken up by complaints.

    In the end, missing layers suck, but I’d much rather have that than visual issues, unrealistic train performance, missing core features… remember Edinburgh-Glasgow? I’m just saying the amount of hate and disrespect directed at DTG is perhaps a bit excessive considering wide parts of the route sound really good compared to DLCs like Edinburgh-Glasgow, which was frankly released with an insane amount of issues.

    How about I start?

    One thing that’s got me excited for this route is that picture of the Keystone set with the fireworks that was previewed during the stream. I wonder what scenario that’s supposed to represent?

    Another are 3900-series trains. I always had fun operating them in TSC so to be able to do it in TSW is something I’m 100% looking forward to.

    Unfortunately the Stream is cancel until Next Monday the 2-20-23, [Removed - Alex - Insensitive] I don't know if this is their excuse of avoiding answer to our respond, or they don't want to be bombarded with lot of hate message and regret while on stream, or if there is someone who is ill, but still they could do a stream with or without that person. Didn't in the past they always do 2 stream one for a preview, and then the other one for the launch day. :|:(

    Lets not forget COVID is still with us. And the stream getting pushed back 5 days suggests that could be the reason.

    In any case, hopefully they recover swiftly.

    Matt isn't well, sadly. Not sure when he'll be back in at this stage (could be tomorrow, could be after the weekend), so we wanted to provide as much opportunity as possible for him to be fit and ready to go.

    We are looking at what we might be able to do with other options though if we need to.

    Completely makes sense to postpone the stream if Matt is unwell. He’s usually the one responsible for answering players’ questions, after all, which is a huge part of preview streams.

    Ultimately, getting a first proper look at three add-ons less than 24h before they release is kinda problematic nonetheless. Perhaps you could get somebody from the dev team to record some gameplay footage before the weekend, at the very least? A few minutes of footage from all the locos showing off the most important features and some service mode driving. You probably also have the “10 in 10” footage for tomorrow recorded and edited together already. Could we perhaps get that video, at least?

    Anyways, and most importantly, get well soon Matt! :)

    Hope Matt gets well soon and makes good, speedy recovery.

    As for the article tomorrow, I hope we can see pictures of the Multilevel cab car, both in the cab itself and the outside of the car, NYP and other areas of the old route we haven't seen yet, since DTG will be apparently polishing these areas of the route, so will be good to see those changes. Plus, we have seen absolutely no footage or media of the cab car, hence I'd really like to see it tomorrow. Also, would be cool to see some pictures of the Acela in action on NYT too.

    I think it was (as of yesterday) indeed planned to release today. My hope is that they pushed it to Thursday to add some additional info and footage now that the stream is delayed.

    Ideally, you’d have two preview streams. The first one about 1-2 weeks before release, giving a general overview, and the second one just a few days before the DLC comes out, showing the final release build and going a bit more in-depth. Having two streams would also give them the opportunity to rotate hosts and give some screen time to a variety of developers and community managers.
    This is how it was done in the past, don’t know why they switched to one stream only. Marketing and communications have essentially improved in all other areas apart from this.

    Yeah, that would be good. I personally am also not a fan of having the various YouTube and Twitch streamers show the route instead of internal people, but i understand that there's plenty of other productive stuff Matt and the team could be doing.

    It is what it is.

    In the end, the preview stream being 4/5 days before release makes no more difference than it being 1 day before release.

    Adds on manager still not being confirmed is nothing surprising.

    Article being pushed back is par for the course.

    Overall I’m not disappointed, it’s basically the norm for DTG. I do hope Matt gets better, really sucks being unwell in any form, but this just highlights the issue that anything community facing is overly dependent on Matt.

    Didn't even consider that EMU's contain multiple unique vehicles. It's gotta just be a time/budget issue then. Maybe they'll get added post-release.

    There's also an Amfleet cafe car. But that's still way fewer unique vehicles than most freight routes and most German/UK timetables.

    Two things:
    1. I love your profile picture. It makes me laugh, albeit it may not have been the intention of Ghost from MW2.
    2. I knew what you were referring to in regards to "Lower Level" at NYP. The only *possible* mistake you made was the track numbering.
    Tracks 1-4 are the stub end tracks, which are just about exclusively for NJT.
    Reason being AFAIK they don't connect to the fancy Moynihan Train Hall.
    Since Amtrak encourages their passengers to use Moynihan, it's counterintuitive for Amtrak to use 1-4.
    I was on a Keystone that somehow ended up on 4 before, that was weird.
    Track 5 is the "lowest" Amtrak will go in their typical operation, I think that's one of the tracks that Empire Service uses.
    Along with a good amount of Keystone trains.

    Sidenote, Matt confirmed that tracks 1-4 will be utilized in game (thanks for the shoutout) in their Roadmap Update YouTube Video.
    It's around the 37:26 mark. Matt said "YES!" so many times I thought I was watching a Daniel Bryan wrestling match.
    Idk how many NJT trains turn on tracks outside of 1-4. I'm sure a good amount go through to Sunnyside.

    I saw there was a "NYE in NYC" achievement / trophy. It's possible the fireworks have something to do with that. Good eye.
    I'm looking forward to the 39xx trains too. They rival Amtrak's time performance between Trenton & NY too.
    Approx 1 hour 10 minutes give or take. I hope some use tracks 2 & 3 between County & NWK.
    In real life they vary, but a good amount tend to stay on 1 & 4.

    Right as i wanted to buy the dlcs i ran out of time and they got removed from the basket. So i continue my shopping rush in a circle. Over and over.
    Cant keep up the schedule, so after rescheduaeling, 10x skipping dlcs, 10x adding dlcs on summer sale, time will tell i might run out of time again...

    I have a differing opinion on this:

    1. On the one hand, in an immersive simulation like TSW3 I expect everything as realistic as possible. Scenery has to be as accurate as possble, as well as the timetable and the included (AI) trains.
    2. On the other hand, I am a complete Noob in programming and stuff, so I am not able to prnounce a verdict on the question, what is really possible (from technical view).
    3. As Non-American, who never has been to New York yet, I don't know what is accurate.

    For these reasons I picked the third option of this poll.

    Idk if they still do this, but Amtrak usually turns a Keystone in the morning on 4 rather than running it through the loop (I believe it went back as 643).

    I’d say of all the NJT trains that come in/out of Penn, the bulk use the stub tracks to turn during off peak hours and some use the through tracks depending on track availability. Most of what comes out of SSYD throughout the day for NJT are NEC trains.

    I’m hoping so too. If I remember correctly, the only ones that use 1 in the morning are 3934 & 3936, while the only ones on 4 in the afternoon are usually 3937, 3963 & 3969. Everything else uses 2 & 3 so I suspect that’s the path they’ll take. But the aforementioned trains may end up using 2 & 3 as well. If they do, I’d be happy because I personally feel they should do that in real life.

    I only made the post you quoted to put it into perspective of how unique vehicles work in the game, and was adding on to the conversation of the following posts

    I changed my mind.
    DTG has probably already gotten the message, i mean it's kinda hard to miss a trending 12 page thread at the top of the forum, and it's now gotten out of hand.
    This thread should be locked.
