About 600ft outside of GCT on the first run with the M7, the distance counter starts going backwards and cannot complete the task. Driving with ACSES on.
It's cuz you have to go around the loop to stable your train which only adds to the distance. I've had no issue finishing all the scenarios
Distance meter is a straight line, rather than how much track is between you and the destination. Same happens on training centre when doing loco training that sends you round one of the loops
It’s ridiculous they still haven’t fixed this to reflect the running mileage left, rather than as the crow flies. TSC and MSTS etc. manage it quite nicely, but the self styled future of train dimming can’t.
I agree, it's quite funny. Next speed limit and next signal distance counters work fine, so why not the destination distance counter? Of course there is the difference that the next speed limit and next signal will always be on the same track as you are, while with destinations it may not always be the case. You might have switches set wrong, with you heading off the wrong path, so in that case you can't calculate distance based on that. But in that case, they could make it so it calculates based on track mileage if there is a direct path, and straigh path if there is not. The game already knows if you have a direct path to your destination or not, as it will highlight that path with blue on the map. So this should be fairly doable, in my opinion.
Did you make sure to turn master key on, put the combined brake power handle in max and charge the brakes past 90 psi? The unit will also not apply any power when you put the lever into power unless the bc is 0.0. So, you have to wait until brakes fully released to get power.
I remember something like that happening to me as well when I did that scenario. If it doesn't work, try to get out and in the seat again, also shut off and and set up the cab again.
I've been having this issue all day yesterday on this specific scenario, so I'm curious if it could be a recently introduced bug? Playing on Xbox Series X for reference.
Likewise, yesterday I did a clean straight run from a fresh boot, no saving or reloading, no going to the dashboard or other apps, and when I entered the cab of the second train, and was going through the setup, I allowed the brake pressure to fully drain to zero, as was recommended, and was able to successfully get moving and finally complete the scenario!
