My apologies if this has not already been answered, but I am wondering if anyone from Dovetail can reply. What, if any, non-playable/A.I. services are provided with the NYP to Trenton route? I know that it has been previously stated that the only playable services are NJT NEC trains (3100/3700/3800/3900/deadheads) and Amtrak trains. I just want to clarify whether there will be any coast line trains or midtown direct trains controlled by the AI only since the following services can use the ALP-46 and multilevels: 3200/3500/6200/6300/6600 Again, I am not asking if these will be included as playable services as I know this has already been stated that this is not the case, but I am asking if they were included as AI traffic only. These additional services constitute a significant portion of the traffic between NYP and Harrison and between Harrison and Rahway. To not have them included seems to me like a major omission from the perspective of keeping the route busy as it should be (not even considering NYP and LIRR).
From what we know so far, there probably are not any AI only services. After all the whining they got from us for the lack of layers and low service number, I bet they would've told us already if we got any AI services. But they haven't told us anything, so I think it's safe to assume that there are none.
Yeah, I’m keeping my expectations low, but I guess it is worth asking the question to be sure. In any case, I guess we’ll find out in the preview streams or on release day.
They need to try improving this for example why not put some AI trains at Hunter interlocking all the way to New York Penn here's the schedule they should be looking at Raritan Valley line Eastbound to NYC. Exception is RVL 2406 to Hoboken Terminal
Personally, I think it would be a nice to have, but ultimately not as high priority to include RVL services. My position is that they should focus first on including (AI) services that actually use the rolling stock they are providing with this route, those being the NJCL and Midtown Direct services to Long Branch, South Amboy, Dover, Summit, Gladstone, and Montclair. After they figure out those, then they can decide whether to include non-ALP-46 / dual mode / diesel services via substitution. On a side note, I know there was a lot of discussion on the other thread about the lack of LIRR services on the timetable, but my opinion is that the lack of NJT services that use the -46 and Multis is the larger issue. After all, the focus of the route is on New Jersey not on Long Island. Not to say with a bit of effort, that both couldn’t be included…
Ok, then and for NJCL make them playable to NY Penn from Rahway both ways since NJCL South Amboy to Rahway was part of the PRR system and NJ Transit 1979-present
Yup I was focus on the LIRR, freight, and the other NJT branches, I didn't noticed even the NEC branch is missing lots of services. Below is from the other thread So if I'm looking at this correctly it doesn't look like we even have the whole NJT time table for the NEC branch inclunded with the release. below are the timetable from Trenton to Penn for a 24 hour weekday schedule. Looking at Northeast corridor line counting only 31xx,37xx,38xx,39xx services which they stated on the article, I count 66 passenger services From Trenton, Jersey Avenue, New Brunswick, Newark airport (only 1), and Newark Penn(only 1) and these don't even include the deadheads. So are they not even including all services from the NEC branch? These services listed are only NEC Branch
I think this is probably more an issue of terminology. If they technically included all the 31XX, 37XX, 38XX, 39XX and associated deadheads, it would technically be true that they included all Northeast Corridor Line trains. 32XX and 35XX series trains are North Jersey Coast Line. They are included in the timetable above since they share stops with the NEC services, but they are technically not the same line. Regardless if it is true that they included all “Northeast Corridor-only” services. The lack of services that branch off the NEC, that they could have included with existing rolling stock, seems like a significant miss in my opinion in terms of immersion. I wouldn’t mind if they had included the 32XX, 35XX, 62XX, 63XX, and 66XX trains as AI only services with alp and multis.
I agree I'm for more services either driveable or AI. They could also had included Morris &Excess and Montclair-Booton to secaucus junction, Ratitan valley to Newark Penn.North Jersey coast to Rahway. All with available stock like they have done in other routes. But as they said they ran out of time. is a huge miss that will make this route feel even more empty than LIRR
