Not to mention the excellent Konstanz - Villingen (and its extension to Hausach) - this is the route to which I judge all other TSC (and TSW!) routes to. The level of detail and attention is simply brilliant!
TSG posted that pic here . As you can see, the PIS changed as well as the colour of the DB logo. And before anyone starts to criticize anything - it's still WIP, so everything can change. Keep cool and just enjoy.
I'll buy everything TSG releases. I've never been disappointed. The G6 is one of my faves in TSW to take it slow and enjoy the timetable around you.
The images just shows a test track route that exists for already 3 years. But yeah, platform height on Niddertal is quite low
It will be such an unique experiece, drving an old DMU through some very rural places, enjoying the scenery in low speed. That's a frist for german TSW content.
Sure is why not make it layer to Linke Rheinstrecke Koblenz Bingen Mainz Frankfurt am Main Hbf as the RE3 Nahe Expres Frankfurt am Main Hbf Mainz Bingen Saarbrücken.
You know, that they're working on this route for longer than that dev blog with the leak? I also doubt it happens in feb. But march or april might be possible
Besides the nightmare of building Frankfurt Hbf and all its traffic, the run from Mainz to Frankfurt is boring AF. The Rheinstrecke's ugly sister.
To be precise the first day of work on Niddertal was 27th of December 2021, although planning for it began around the time of Dresden Riesas release
Is it due to the urban character of the route at least we can get a rollsign equipped DB Baureihe 420 S9 Hanau Hbf
Wow that's a lot! Once the Niddertalbahn is out, it would be nice to get a little insight into how building this route was. Over a year of development, building new assets and as it seems - new kind of gameplay. New signals. And so on. I'd love to read in a devblog about how the development in general went, what you learned of mistakes and maybe even future plans. I hope something like this is possible
It wasn't always being worked on. Tsg or Maik really cuz he does most of the work also does second party content such as with dtg german releases
No, that is not what it is and was. There were people working on that route all the time. The 628 is in the making since about 5 or 6 months now. The route since, as said, end of 2021 and constantly as possible. My second party work only affects to vehicle creation, not any route building. You can imagine, that you need more than one or two people to create a route for TSW. It's quite a bunch of people working on that thing. Regarding a dev-blog. When i have to decide, i would always put that time into the products, not into unnecessary marketing that costs lots of extra time.
Have to disagree, in part, with this one. When I was living out in Frankfurt (Nied) there were a couple of different ways to get to Mainz. The S9 and S8 both went past the Opelwerke, and many other sidings, which would be good for TSW traffic. The S1 went to Mainz Kastel via Hoechst, with all the chemical traffic. additionally if you took the regional Bahn (RB10 these days I believe) along the right side of the Rhine route, to Koblenz via Wiesbaden you went past the vineyards which is where I came across the monument to Queen Victoria below.
I’m pretty sure that a layer with the 628.2 for the upcoming Mainz - Koblenz DLC would increase the sales rates of the Niddatalbahn substantially. I guess even those who won’t buy the DLC because of the scenery itself would purchase it because of the train and the possibility to use it on the Rhine route. So let’s wait and see.
There were certainly some in Mainz Hbf as these pictures show, but I don't know if any of them ran up the Rhine. 1992, mint-green 628 in the background - no idea where it went 2006, traffic-red 628 on its way to Türkismühle, not along our route but on the Saarbrücken-Frankfurt line Source
Excellent point and for the Saarbrücken-Frankfurt Diesel route does it use a section of Frankfurt Am Main Koblenz Mainz Linke Rheinstrecke or not? If yes Niddertalbahn owners can run them to the last station where it splits from
As far as I remember - yes! But it’s a long time ago since I’ve lived in Budenheim and Bingen, so maybe my memories are wrong,
It would be really nice to see for some variety, yes. Every extra train and every extra livery makes a route come alive a bit more, definetely in an era as diverse as the '90s (for DB at least).
Yes, the Nahtalbahn turns off the main line just ahead of Bingen Stadt. So these trains run approximately 27km from Mainz on the Linke Rheinstrecke.
Thanks and I can see this happening Niddertalbahn owners can use the DB Baureihe 628 Mainz Hbf Bingen Nahtalbahn RE3 Saarbrücken Frankfurt am Main Hbf via Bingen Mainz Rüsselsheim Opelwerke
In this context, do we know that Niddertalbahn is coming first to TSW? I think this would need to happen in order for the 628 to be part of the Linke Rheinstrecke, no?!
Not necessarily, if the Koblenz-Mainz timetable has a already ready and built-in layer for the 628, i think.
Im quite looking forward to running some of the diesel shunters with some short trains. Maybe the 363 with a few wagons. Might be quite fun in scenario planner. I know the track layout will be basic but hopefully the paths use the full range of the track available.
Honestly, that feels like the kind of thing that would be in some of the newer timetable modes. Bremen Oldenburg for example has some more runs with shunters, in the form of yard transfers in Bremen. Perhaps we'll see a similar service or two with the 363 for this one, I could see it work I think.
That can work and look for the other German routes they tend to use anything older and newer their release. Excellent example of this is how the last German route Bremen Oldenburg changes Schnellfahrstrecke Köln Aachen Rhein Ruhr Osten & Main Spessart Bahn selected services get a DB Baureihe 110.3 or Pressnitztalbahn Baureihe 155
but those changes are only substitution, not new layers. And substitution often works automatically, that is why the BR 110.3 needed to get the door controls for Dostos, as it substituted automatically there, if they did not do that, people would complain, that the older routes broke, as then AI-trains with BR 110.3 could not open doors, and hence AI trains would just stop at stations and not depart anymore.
The front has been revised again and in my opinion it now looks perfect: - The front window is now a good 15 cm wider - and the ZZA has lost 5 cm in height. All that's missing is a good sound and I'm completely satisfied with the vehicle. New pics from (source/link):
Can't really do much about sound since tsg does not have original recordings. He said he's working on the interior sounds to make it sound like a 628 but he only can do soo much since he doesn't have real recordings. Still gonna be happy with this dlc regardless
The sound might end up a bit jarring depending on what Maik does with it but the 3D model looks perfect.
