Now some of you might remember a certain Amtrak Depot Service on Boston-Providence (NR #66 at 8:14) that made you drive through a depot with no interior and in some cases, ended up derailing. Well, this issue was said to have been fixed with the recent update in light of this route receiving the Acela Loco Add-on, and from having looked, all I say is...

…would you like to know how they went about fixing this? and how this caused another big problem at the same time?

Well this service, just like before, goes round the loop at Southampton Street Yard and stops around the MBTA Inspection Pit, but instead of going towards the depot, it now goes out of the route entirely as AI, heading towards Readville via Fairmount, something that is completely inaccurate and impossible in real life, considering that these lines are not electrified.

Now this service beforehand would return to Boston South around 21:00 to form the 21:29 NR #67 service heading south, which is still the case, and again, this service comes out from that aforementioned Fairmount Branch.

On a side note, I've also seen the new Acela services also using this area to enter/exit the route in-between services.

Now we get to the real big problem here, this service I've just mentioned is no longer selectable from the timetable menu...

…but that doesn't mean you can't drive it anymore, all you have to do is spawn in just a few minutes before it's due to start and take a seat in the drivers cab.

But if you do this, you will uncover the big problem that I've been leading to here...

...as a result of everything I've just brought up, this service travels between Boston and Providence with the loco pushing the train from the other end. While I don't have any video footage, I do have some images I took around Readville to prove that this is what this service does now. I know these were taken in the dark of night, but hopefully you get the idea here.

So there you have it, it looks as ridiculous as it sounds, and all this to simply fix the matter of this service driving through and derailing inside a depot with no interior. I don't know what else to say other than that.

Well, that certainly explains the backwards-train.

What... on... Earth?!? All they had to do was have it use a track OUTSIDE the depot...

"Exactly what they'd expect us to do, and therefore exactly what we shan't do!"

Fix one thing, brake another. Great.
