Hello all, Could someone tell me the path to install downloaded mods, please ? Regarding the DLC everything works but impossible to find the correct path for the mods. Thanks
If your games are installed under C:\XBoxGames, look for the appropriate directory. Unlike Steam, each DLC is installed in its own directory. So, if your mod is for SEHS, for example, drop the mod under that DLC's directory, e.g. C:\XBoxGames\SEHS Extended. That's not how you edit a post
Then you drop your mod PAK file into C:\XBoxGames\Train Sim World 3\Content\TS2Prototype\Content\Paks Sorry for this bad advice. As explained below, dropping a PAK in here causes the game to not start.
You should reach out to the mod author for that. I've only installed a couple of mods, and they were route mods, and they worked for me.
Are you running the game without or with Admin permissions? I'm running it as Admin, and I don't have any issues.
It's either corrupt or it's not the correct file for the game version. Can you post a link to the file?
It needs this directory \WindowsNoEditor\TS2Prototype\Content\DLC\ So I think it's because there is no WindowsNoEditor folder in the Microsoft Gamepass version of the game. It's possible that it needs to be the Steam version of the game for it to work? The Train Sim World® 3 directory has no DLC folder. When I put it into the paks folder the game crashes out after the loading screen.
I think this is it https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/mods/c3-train-sim-world/c75-utilities/i2703-tsw-god-mode-alpha-012
I'm having the same issue. Trying to install the Logo pack mod but wherever I put it the game either doesn't start or the mod doesn't work. Even running in administrator mode doesn't make any difference. It seems it's possible to install mods for specific add-ons but universal mods have nowhere to go. yardem seems to have figured it out so if anyone can help please do.
If you try saving a .pak into the general \Xbox Games\Train Sim World\Content\TS2Prototype\Content\Paks folder then the game won't run. A universal mod needs to be copied into each individual route directory -- i.e. \Xbox Games\Southeastern Highspeed- London - Faversham\Content\TS2Prototype\Content\DLC A bit tedious, but this seems to work fine. I have londonmidland's rain mod in each route DLC folder to get it to show in-game.
Sorry, I've only tried a couple of londonmidland route improvement mods, which installed correctly under the respective route's DLC directory. As it was shown above, installing under the game's directory caused the game to not start. I will amend the post to clarify.
I agree. Problem is that Steam is more popular than PC gamepass. Hence why most mods don't work with gamepass.
It's more likely for modders to be Steam users than Epic or Gamepass users. Was there a particular mod that didn't work at all with Gamepass?
For me it's the Logo's mod, the livery 300 limit mod and the God mod. The god mod just crashes the game after loading screen, and the logo mod, doesn't do anything. Though I'm not fussed about having the god mod, though I would really like to have the logo mod and the livery 300 limit.
