Want to pick up the acela, but getting that with the new route is a little too steep for me right now. Is it worth getting the acela if I only have Boston? I do plan on picking up NYT later on, I just want to know if there is enough services/scenarios for the Boston route.
I like it on Boston Sprinter. Also don't own NY - Trenton yet (because of the missing addons manager on PS5).
I think so, especially if you already like driving on NEC-BP. I had already driven all the other Amtrak services, so the Acela gave the route some new life. Plus, you get the scenarios and a new journey, and although the number of services it adds isn't huge, you can usually spot it at least once if you're driving something else. I'm not buying NY-T, because it's incomplete, but I can recommend the Acela.
I can highly recommend the Acela on Boston, my only minor complaint would be there's no depot moves. But that said even though all the services are end to end following the same stopping pattern there's a lot of variety due to AI train interference.
It fills out south station very nicely. As a Bostonian I think that’s cool. I also buy loco DLCs to see them running, not just to run them myself. And they run there, so yeah. I think it’s worth it. Plus really well done. Great detail. And fast is always fun.
Absolutely yes. I also got the Acela just for Boston (planned on getting New York - Trenton as well, but seeing how badly it turned out, well...) and it's great.
Yes and remember Acela Express can be played on NEC Trenton New Brunswick NY Penn if you don't own Boston Providence.
An easy yes from me. The Acela is really nicely done, and is right at home on Boston-Providence. It‘s fun to drive and also great to see fly past you when you are driving other trains.
I bought the Acela and not planning to buy NY - Trenton. Im happy with my purchase just for Boston - Providence. I think that if DTG makes another NEC route the Acela has a high chance to be added as a layer too.
