Read the article and if you want to operate the Pacer the instruction briefings should give you locations of the AWS TPWS DSD Driver's Remainder Appliance Switches. Looks like you can try looking at the TSC NTP Manual for some Pacer switches
Personally I'd have a bash at driving one but the one I'd really want to have a drive of is the class 37 which isn't cheap. Update: I have actually booked in for a 2hr session driving the class 37 in May. It's a bit on the pricey side especially if you want to have a friend in the cab with you but it's worth it to have the experience of driving an iconic diesel loco (albeit at 25mph max). It's basically a once in a lifetime experience to get to drive one and experience the sounds, smells and vibrations of such a loco.
Nene Valley Railway has drive days like that. They had a footplate experience for the A4 but sold out really quick for obvious reasons
