Glasgow Queen Street to Oban is 61 miles. Oban & Mallaig trains split/merge at Crianlarich. Some trains just go to Oban and don’t split or merge. This route would use the class 156 The class 156 was built between 1987 and 1989 by Metro-Cammell. They were refurbished between 2017 and 2019. The class 153 The class 153 was built between 1987 and 1988 by Hunslet-Barclay. They started service on ScotRail on 19/07/21

Indeed. More traffic, particularly freight. Make the core loco a Class 27 with maybe a Class 37 layered in to represent the transition era. ISTR a Class 20 was based at the Fort at one point for pilot and local trip workings.
Good idea, would like the WHL in game, but like Matt and Vern have said, it would be better backdated into BR Blue days, well any Northern Scottish route could or should be backdated to provide variety in eras as Scotland has two modern day routes and no backdated routes as of yet
