The old breaks were absolutely fine, the controller was slow but the actual breaking was fine.

The old braking's issue wasn't that the brakes were too weak, but they felt out of sync (that's the best way I can describe it personally)

    75% and beyond (step 3) felt like 50% (step 2) and 50% felt like 25% (step 1).

The newer braking feels how it should be. I no longer have to use step 3 braking to stop at stations (which is actually bad driver etiquette IRL).

Well done Rivet for getting the update out, the new timetable timings are perfect! No more dispatching on a red, you now stop at Edinburgh Park!

Timetable wise, I’m over the moon!

These comments make it seem like the free camera view has been removed from the controller mapping in favor of a close-up view of the TMS (which can be achieved anyways by zooming in with the left stick in the normal driver’s view). I hope this can be reversed as the press right stick for free camera is a very important mapping on console. Genuinely would almost classify this as gamebreaking because it essentially completely prevents you from being able to quickly switch between interior and exterior views (using the right d pad method is very cumbersome as it takes many seconds to find the right camera each and every time).

Good work from Rivet, the Route can be enjoyed and the Cl385 too. Also happy to see the axle bearings got attached to the trailer bogies. My only major criticism is the entire missing flange sounds (What you hear from the wheels in curves), not even a modder can fix this..., how could they just forget about them? This was done well in tsc, and tsw2020. If those sounds would be there, a mod could make them louder, more realistic etc, but its entirely missing.

Once again it shows how important a master list of current quality standards is. DTG and Rivet seem to struggle in delivering a constant good experience. Important to remember, sounds are something tsc does well in many ways, so really no excuse here. (I use the brilliant mod made by ita and raph)

Glad the silly chime and "fast train approaching" have been removed,
but sad that Dunblane and Alloa wern't added to the audio list, nor were the PIS boards updated to add the missing off map stations

It really is nice to see constructive feedback listened to, despite the usual negativity, Rivet have done well here in my opinion, don’t get me wrong it would have been nice for it to be like that from Day 1, but we asked they listened and we got! I’m satisfied.

After reading these replies, after holding off purchase of a route I was looking forward to, I’m gathering it doesn’t seem a great deal has been changed despite what was announced, it’s also sounding what’s announced in the fixes doesn’t seem to be reflected much…

Ill continue to read player feedback on this, but I don’t expect additional official changes at this point or near future, just the impression this update seems a one off.

I’ve also seen no mention about lack of rain on window in any patch notes… surely this should be high priority to fix

I really don’t want to purchase at full price as long as glaring issues remain.

Dear DTG JD I have to ask, using this route on the PS5

pressing R3 to flick to external view… is it meant to show the TMS??
We all know holding down R3 and then left or right on the dpad cycles the views but it seems as others have reported… pressing R3 now takes you to the TMS screen and it’s ALSO in external view meaning you just move back and you are in the drivers head and a little wiggle and then you escape the cab and then have the usual free floating camera?

Was this feature planned as if so why?
Can’t imagine it was and it’s a glaring bug that really needs to be cleared up.

second others also the brakes, yikes. What happened?

Just ran a short service, 2N44, Alloa - Queen Street. I do not like the new brake settings. Using the pattern I had established before, I slowed down a lot quicker. Also, on a stop, realized at 0.6 miles from station I was going 97 mph, put the brakes in full and, actually, had to come back on the setting to keep from stopping short. The sound is different, but never having ridden on this emu, could not say if its an improvement. I run on a pc using a Rail Driver.

The patch notes says added dunblane services so what are those referring to? Is it the night services? Since we already had dunblane services to begin with

Also note the wind sound is still present unless you close the cab door, albeit not as drastic it’s still pretty poor you need to shut an internal door to block outside noise and there is rain sounds in tunnels too.

Brakes are far too strong now, feels like it can stop on a 6pence, OK thats an exaggeration but you get the idea.

Very frustrating patch tbh. The list looked like it was going to fix the majority of issues and most users have been very patient waiting for it. The route is annoyingly close to being very good but the biggest issues like the blue flash when going into tunnels etc. are still unresolved.

The fact the TMS and camera issues once again impact PS5 after the initial issues is pretty ridiculous, I would have thought there would have been a focus on ensuring this was right, but here we are yet again needing a fix for a fix.

I hate sounding negative but frankly the quality of output for what is already a fix to resolve poor output is pretty horrendous. I cannot see me purchasing any DLC on day one again, particularly from 3rd parties.

The fact that all of these issues are apparent after mere minutes of gameplay is staggering tbh.

just playing the update now and i’m so happy i can actually drive it without being deafened:) it’s great to here the distinctive motor pitch change however it does happen 7mph too soon at 20mph, when it should occur at 27mph. Running sounds ofc aren’t great but are bareable now. The CPBC is almost a little too responsive however is still a lot better than before, also for when you apply power notches it doesn’t feel notched it feels like one consistent step/notch of power, which would be seen on a 700 for example, not a 385. Also amazing to see the timetable now at either xx:30 or xx:00, makes me happy:D

DTG ....release something new....patch...release something else....new patch for previous content plus patch for latest content. Oh, hang on, this last patch has messed up the game. Oh well new core patch will be coming. In the mean time, here's another bugged route/loco, with a patch coming soon.
Meanwhile for TSW2....nothing not even a patch that messes the game more. All we get is more of the same: promises after promises.
What a great business model....make something that leaves the customers highly disgruntled and unwilling to spend any more on their products. You've lost me Down Time Games.

Hello. Despite yesterday's update I still have the same problem on the first scenario "Time to Glas go ": Before arriving at Edinburgh station the light is red and we are asked to contact the signalman. In spite of the requested contact, the notification remains and prevents the scenario from being completed at Edinburg station.
    see attached screen :
EDIT : I found the solution by watching a video on youtub: before contacting the signaller you had to press the green signal button in the cabin and it works

Thanks for all the positive feedback, more than happy to hear that you're enjoying the update! :)

But let me get back on the feedback: I've reported everything in here back, thanks a lot for that! Just on these two:

Not sure what the issue is with the bogies here - that's what they're looking in real life. Could you explain what's buggin you please?

Very sorry about that, will see if we can do anything about it. For now, have a look at the workaround others posted.

Any chance you could tweak the motor pitch changing point from 20mph to 27mph?

    Morning Jasper,
I didnt realise the bogies looked like that in real life.
Just the odd looking passenger to deal with :P

    Cheers

It's nice that there was a major update :), but for me the fun of the vehicle hasn't really increased, although I would have liked that.

This is partly due to the Class 385 itself with its small windows (yes, that's real, but I still don't like it). As beautiful as the route is, you just don't see anything. Therefore, for me, the sound would simply have to be good to compensate for that. But he still isn't. The sound is now a little(!) less annoying, but still bad. I know there aren't any original recordings yet, but it's just not fun like that, it just sounds unprofessional (except for the sound when you release the brakes, which is good). The exaggerated "rocket launch" and monotonous wind noise are still there, and the rail squeak is still completely absent.

In addition, the announcements in the cockpit on the display are still fiddly to use and the screen still toggles on its own, which causes more clicks unnecessarily.

What has become significantly better are the brakes, the operation of the "combination lever", the lighting at night and the signalling.

I would love to like the DLC more as the track seems really nice but the Class 385 sucks. Sorry Rivet.

Hi Jasper, can you add the Alloa/ Dunblane services destinations not appeared by default when travelling off map please? They have been blank of the 2 services I have done so far.

Could you also update the PIS boards on the platforms to include the missing stations (Stirling e.t.c.)

And finally get some lovely audio in so when on an Alloa/ Dunblane service, you can click the button and have the announcement saying "This train is for Alloa" rather than it just getting cut off and leaving all the passengers in suspense!

    Thank you!
(Great work with E-G, it's by far my favourite route to drive!)

I will probably get this now although there seems to be a different of opinion as to whether the brakes are now too strong.

Reading that the sounds aren't great still is disappointing. I wonder if the patch will still work.

Good on Rivet for getting the update out.

I don’t believe the workaround works on PS5, we still have to do it using the normal driver view. Whilst in the R3 click allows the curser to be moved the buttons aren’t press able.

Jasper, the 3-car's TMS seems not fixed. Can you tell the team to see if they got this as well? In short, 3-car TMS not able to show the DAS screen's throttle/brake status while 4-car can.

    Quick question:

Was the signalling issue fixed, where the player had a red light on every passenger stop? The signal turned green as soon the doors were closed, on top this issue was part of early TSWs signalling setup and was believed to be improved.

That bug appeared mostly on the 3car unit runs.

It’s sorted, yes! It was on the Dunblane and Alloa services, a much needed improvement.

If the 3-car TMS gets fixed (no power/brake force displayed), and the neutral sections won't 'make you break', I'll pick this up.

Excellent. I appreciate your willingness to try to deal with it, to deal with it.
I trust you will fix it for sure.
