I've made a scenario recently on the GEML and whenever I am around any other AI, I get a mere 14FPS when I should be getting at least 30. I have changed my game quality settings, but the FPS still remains capped at 14FPS. For comparison, I have 14FPS when spawning next to around 6 AI services (Liverpool St). When I reach Shenfield, there is only 1 static train in the sidings and one passing train, still at 15FPS. I've noticed others have had similar issues of reaching 15FPS. Only once I reach rural sections where there is absolutely no AI for over a mile, I average 40FPS. Can anyone help me with this issue? Specs: Intel i7-4790K (CPU), 4GHz 16GB RAM GeForce GTX 960 (Posts on the internet suggest that the 960 can handle AAA games fairly smoothly, so I'm not sure why it lags so much on Train Simulator.)
Depends on how detailed the AI models are. Some are badly optimized in terms of LODs. Some don't affect FPS at all. Care to share the scenario?
All trains are using the Armstrong Powerhouse Class 317, 315, 379, 321 and Class 66. Unfortunately I cannot upload it at this moment.
I can run most routes with good frame rates until I add all the ap trains, then I get poor performance, especially round built up areas or with lots of ai traffic. South London network runs close to 60 fps with dtg rolling stock and 20ish with ap rolling stock. Try not to use the weathered variants.
In that case, is there any way of changing the OHLE to be optimised (If that's even a thing) I've noticed the OHLE Enhancement Pack on ATS works smoothly on the ECML even with AP trains where I can get at least 40FPS.
