Maybe it fits here ... when the Dispolock DLC gets an discount, are the scenarios it provides for Kassel-Würzburg cool at last? I like the DB BR 182 and use it when I want to do "modern, fast German freight" so I really think about getting this one sooner or later.
Dispolok is mainly a loco filled with bugs. LZB in one of cabs is reading backwards and it makes scenarios and timetable services with that cab unplayable (you can drive just without LZB). Sifa controller is not working and it sound is very quiet so HUDless gameplay is impossible. To me it looks like very small bug, but nothing looks like it will be solved.
Yeah, the Dispolok does not really worth it. Most of the services for it are during night, but the instrument lighting is messed up and you can't even see it properly at night.
There are mods that unlock the dispolok services (but not the loco repaint or scenarios) if you want just that. As services are coded into the route itself, and just hidden by default.
That is really a question for Microsoft, not DTG. But there are always sales in Turkey, if you know what I mean!
TBH not really much I want or need this time round, at least for TSW. Couple of FSX DLC grabbed my eye, Air Hauler 2 and the CLS DC10 gets good reviews. But think I will be hanging on to the train sim allowance for the dwindling prospect that one of the new releases looks like it might still be a Day 1 purchase.
Nothing tempting but then other than recent releases and a few of the poorer routes & locos my collection is there or thereabout complete, had the M3, 1938 stock of the original IOW route been 75% off I might have been tempted but the maximum discount is 60% so I'll be saving my cash for a few more months
Air Hauler 2 is quite good even though the UI looks a bit dated. It can be as simple or as complex as you want depending on how deep you want to go with your business simulation. I've used it for the better part of a decade and was always a fun way to find flight suggestions when I didn't know where I wanted to fly on a given day.
They generally have at least three sales on concurrently any given week. TSW is just never included in these categories, be it the XBox "Simulator sale", "DLC sale", etc.
Nothing for me in the TSW sale, but I picked up TramSim for variety. Still waiting on Niddertalbahn and SD70ACe, but not on sale of course.
Well, I'll be honest against better judgement I bought Glasgow to Edinburgh. Not my finest moment. I thought I would share some screen shots with you. The first is of edinburgh waverly looking at the castle on a starry night from the cab. This next screen shot is the glasgow station from the 385 cab And finally I took this picture showing the busy time table which is very similar to London Brighton. Why oh why do I keep doing this to myself. I think my best course of action is sit tight and hold until these routes are not so bloody quiet.
I'm a little disappointed that the back catalog of TSW2 dlc is not more heavily discounted. Opening the faucet on older content seems to be a very smart way to encourage ongoing player engagement.
I think it's been reported before that due to how Steam works, you tend to get bigger discounts later in the year. In fact this sale is a bit of a surprise event, was expecting the next one at Easter.
At least in the past, this March sale was supposed to coincide with the " March Madness " basketball tournament, or the traditional " Spring Break " college vacation season. That may not be true any more. There doesn't seem to be an Easter Sale upcoming. There likely won't be another major sale until June 29th ( Summer Sale ).
You are kidding me. I just bought the Trenton line and Acela The only thing I didn't add was the SD70ACE livery pack as said loco still will not start up on instructions provided, therefore completely useless. That livery pack is the only DLC I do not own.
I get your disappointment, but the pics bought a smile to an old man's face! Thanks for the comedy. I looked at your post re:Steam sale, then looked at the particulars; there's stuff there I may have been tempted with but for my ongoing despair over fixes forTSW2. Again though, thanks for the humour.
There's a list of dates for planned major and themed Steam sales over there: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/steamworks/announcements/detail/3645136358931000681 In fact I'd be more surprised to have an Easter sale which hasn't happened in the past years, unless spring sale or March madness coincided with it.
Used the "complete your collection" sale on the Mega US Bundle to grab Trenton and Fallen Flags for a 46% discount.
The US content bundle that includes NY-Trenton and Acela is 40% off with a complete my collection option. For an extra ~$4, you can get the bundle that adds the UP livery pack. Would be very enticing if NY-Trenton wasn't full of issues, but I might pick it up anyway to get the Acela. It is kind of unusual though for content not even a month old to be on a 40% off sale. Cross City and Bremen were released months ago and have never had a sale that large yet. Makes you wonder if the US content from last month didn't sell well.
Bought some items on the B list, Luzern and Harlem, both have been enjoyable so far, especially Harlem. I didn't intend to buy Glasgow to Edinburgh in a sale, after the patch came out I intended to buy it full price, however as it is in the sale it seemed silly not to get it. I like the route although I do feel, like many others the small drivers window doesn't make it the most enjoyable, also the brakes do seem quite weak, as some are now saying they are too strong. I would have preferred it with a class 170 or especially in a BR period setting, but overall it is a decent route. The sound patch I would say is worth installing before it the air brake sound was very intrusive.
