Loco Bundle 2 - Bnsf Sd70ace Feedback - Another Flawed Us Dlc

Is it just me, or does this version look better, livery wise ? With all the wear and grime, especially close to the upper part of the roof and nose ?

 

It does look pretty good, that's true. I wonder why they didn't leave it in the pack, since it was already made? Then we could have had both the roof headlight and nose headlight variant, ideally with their correct running numbers. Would have made the pack worth more.

 

Except that the cab numbers are still in UP-style font

 

I don't have enough knowledge about the topic to spot that, but the overall quality of the livery, design wise, looks quite nice. A good contrast to the usually tidy and clean, brand new locos. Especially compared to the livery that did end up in the DLC.

 

It seems like they were actually planning on selling this version! Even the main promotional image featured the cab headlight variant, before the whole store page was changed to reflect the new version. I don’t know why they they didn’t choose to include both variants in this pack (they’ve done it before with the Class 40), as the cab headlight one does also look fairly nice, besides the UP number font. Would’ve been a very nice thing to have indeed.

 

Can anyone confirm if the incab signaling works on this in CJP please?

 

IIRC, the cab signals were removed when SP compared the UP and BNSF ones in his video.

 

They are removed but the breakers for EAD and Cab Signals are still toggleable.

 

You get the alerter but that's it, just like the Cajon ES44.

 

I tried this myself staring 4 different services after selecting the ES44C4 and saw SD70s mixed into the consists on three of the four services. So it seems to work fine on the Epic Games version.

Just ran one and found there was another SD70 bringing up the rear. So they do sub in, just with a <50% probability

 

Ah, so the only thing that might have tempted is not only not working but it's been pulled completely.

 

IIRC, BNSF's cab signaling system is completely different from UP's

 

I'm not from the US so forgive me here but Is the BNSF ban of having Thundercab locos leading a train that keeps getting mentioned a very recent thing?

I only ask because a google search of "BNSF Thundercab" brings up plenty of videos and images of them leading trains over the last few years.
