Let's not feed the troll. I reported its homophobic slurs, and the mods will ban it soon enough.

Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me…… seriously you call me a keyboard warrior yet your the one being a doofus behind a keyboard, get a life, you have to hide behind a picture of a character from a show that got cancelled and I hope you get cancelled too

Don't get involved. It's only going to make it worse. Just report and move on

Actually you can refund on console! At least on Xbox anyway as have done it myself a couple of times. Once with TSW2 DLC shortly after it came out that. (One was the NEC loco add-on and the other was a route that I needed for TSW2020 but I mistakenly bought the TSW2 version) and the second time was a game that had thing in the description that weren't there when I booted it up.

Personally I'm looking forward to the 158. I can't wait to see it released.

Same here, it is a unit which will hopefully have good usage in the future as well on other routes.

Yes I too think the 158 is lining up to be a good unit!

    Don't feed the troll.

But damn, the more I read these forum posts, the more I think this community is toxic.
Alot of critisim for something that hasn't even been shown off yet.
Even if I developer's history isn't great, doesn't mean you can instantly slate them for something that isn't out yet.

Absolutely disgusting. No need whatsoever to be so personal and nasty.

One of the reasons I don’t come on these forums much anymore is displayed in this thread

I was actually on a 158 on Friday and with all of the uncertainty about sounds I did find myself listening a little closer than usual! But none the less I'm looking forward to seeing what Skyhook have come up with :)

I’ve only been on 158s four times and that was in the span of just two days. Still, I found them quite distinctive sound-wise. I’m not really interested in the route but maybe I’ll be swayed.

Criminy, this is supposed to be a thread about the class 158, not tit for tat, petty potty mouths & flinging around ist/phobes. Get a grip yeah?

I for one am chuffed it's on the roster. Crackin' DMU, comfy too.

Let's ignore the troll folks. He'll get banned, his posts wiped, and then the thread will just be a confusing bunch of posts that dont make sense anymore ;)

As I said - you'll have ample chance in the preview to judge if it meets your standards, watch out for Alex or JD putting up the "what would you like to see/know" thread and make sure any gymnastics you'd like to see the 158 put through are noted there and i'll do my best to show you everything. Same for the 43, that has new AP-sourced, DTG-implemented sounds too.

    Matt.

Thank you for showing us all a high level of maturity coupled with tremendous illiteracy. Judging by these posts I'd speculate

    • Lives with parents
    • Has peanut butter on bed sheet and bread crumbs on floor.
    • Survives on pot noodles
    • Age 18 or less
    • Warned and banned.

Assuming the thread actually survives the next couple of hours, I do agree there is so much potential for a good 158. As I said either earlier in this thread or in another, could and still can be seen over a large extent of the UK rail network. Part of the Marches Line or Cardiff to Portsmouth (well a 40 mile section of it) would be magnificent. Bath to Salisbury in 1998 the pinnacle of Wales & West would be a Day One purchase for me.

Eesh, this was a fun one to come into this morning. Thread remains open, and the antagoniser has been banned for repeated language and antagonistic behaviour.

Quick reminder that, whilst we are more than open to constructive feedback - we will not tolerate targeted attacks on either DTG staff, or other members of the forum community.

Echo what Matt said - worth re-reviewing this when you've seen it in action.

    Have a lovely Monday :)

Thanks Matt - really hoping it’s of the same quality as the 465 or 323.

The only thing to note about the VP185 HST is that the revs do rise much slower than the way they rise in the current MTU in the game at the moment. If you want me to source videos showing this, I will send. There’s a few cab rides of the Preserved HSTs at Colne Valley on YouTube.

I also think the brake pressures are different for each brake notch ? For example I think brake step one is around 1 bar rather than 1.6 etc etc ( I could be wrong but worth checking too )

I only asked when the preview videos would be sent out as I may have missed that info, (because we don’t want a repeat performance of the 150 issues ) and all hell broke loose.

I will absolutely critique a company generally, yes, but I try to always refrain from making it personal. No need for that at all.

I hope the staff who woke up to those attacks are doing ok. It is awful to be the victim of online abuse and I hope he didn't get to any of you.

This is my video of a VP185 powered HST leaving Leicester for Nottingham about three years ago, to give people a taster of what to expect.

We've not got any technical docs on the VP185 version to be honest - so if you can supply anything, i'll make sure it gets to the team.

I won't be truly happy there's a proper HST in the game until there's one with a Valenta, but, it's nice to see the HST back again it has to be said :)

Brilliant news, looking forward to this one even more now!
Couldn't agree more, any route with a Valenta would be a definitive buy no matter which route it were!!

The route itself doesn't look and sound that interesting, but the Sprinter dmu does. If I buy this route, it would be because I like diesels like the 101 and 166, particularly if the sounds and physics are done well.
