A different sort of run on BPE with CTC-3 Cab Car:
MBTA Franklin #708 (Readville - Boston) at 08:34

Nothing really to spoil. You basically get caught in a huge tangle at East Limits Cove and get to be a railfan for about 15 minutes while the dispatcher slowly works through a really impressive amount of AI traffic.

    Wembley Central Thrash:

Joe did a great job with the new bakerloo timetable. I see my self coming back to bakerloo over and over. Driving No hud etc, i can even keep up with the timetale. So after seeing the 2x class 43 i found a way to get over the fence. (just open the doors and press E, it will clip you through).

Here a way to get a nice green and yellow run from Wembley central to Queens Park, nothing special long but still fun. (maybe its possible to get to harrow w. , didnt test it as far). So Enter the train with many class 47, 20 , 37 etc and wait until next train passes you direction queens park. The switches are set up, so it will guide you into the "wrong" lane up to wembley central. There the next cl. 66 appeared and i changed ends.

So the freight train will control the signals, but since its behind you it will give a nice ride to the player. My favourite part was the head on head rush from kensal green to queens park, very cool.

    here a few pics:

Here the Bakerloo (Mainline Operation) Part 2: Rescueing Freightliner Cl.66 at Wembley Central:

Same beginning, but simulating a rescueing with a Rail operation group class 37. Unfortunately you get stuck, DTG should implement, that when a loco is attaching another consist with another loco, which has its service tasks or a.i (which has also service tasks), TSW should ask which tasklist to get priority. Now the dispatcher recognice 2 Trains at one block, so you end up on a red.

A few pics, at lest its possible to rescue the train and get back almost to willesden:

This looks cool. Thanks for finding it! Always nice to add to the Chaos spreadsheet.

I am not that familiar with Bakerloo - although it sounds like I should be! So, I have a few questions out of ignorance:

Where do I spawn and when? I spawned at Wimberly Central at 10am and didn't see a freight stopped.

When the freight does stop, do I get in by opening the door over the fence and then clicking E? I couldn't find my way to the other side of the fence without a freight there.

When I get going, I pull forward towards North Wembley? When do I switch ends?

I make currently a few tests, so tsw users can reproduce it in a permanent way without loosing too much time and have fun instead, will add a few more nice runs later incl. actions and timings. Hell Wembley Yard is a giant sandbox from Queens Park up to Harrow. :). Since TSW is rather restricted i turned off the derail over switches, so thats basicly the reason this works, but i can live with that to get a few nice runs.
(For some reason i found out in my tsw3, i cant derail anymore after passing a wrong set switch, no matter the menu point "derail at switches" is ticked or not, maybe thats a new core bug.)

Ok here the path to the yard, you can mess around with all kind of static stock, also the 66s at the container yards etc. There is a invisible wall behind close to the mainline, so just use the locos to pass this. Behind a wall you can clip through by using the driver seats.

1: Spawning point is Willesden Junction, from there you walk direction queens park until the 2 Class 43 appear, open the door and press E, it will clip you into the yard:

    TSW3_Meridian_1678185031_00.png

2: Messing around with all the static stock, this is just an example:
    TSW3_Meridian_1678194540_00.png

Ill add the runs later today.

Wembley Central Heritage Railtour [With Steam A.i traffic]:

This is an "inofficial" Service, which uses a few dipatcher & signalling gaps. You even have to create your own consist. So if you like the bakerloo line and always looked jellous over the fence to the mainline while driving the 72stock on the LU section, this is your chance to get a nice railtour from Wembley Central to Queens park on the main line.

0: Important: Select the option - "No derail at switches"
1: Spawn at Willesden Junction at 11:00 AM [To get spawned your desired livery it might take a few attempts]
2: Walk direction Queenspark until the 2x Class 43 appear and use their Doors to clip over the fence (Just open the doors and press E)
3: Creating the consist, there is parked 9xMk2+1xloco and another consist out of 4 locomotives. Between those 2 consists and the mainline is an invisible wall. So you cant just pull out with the wagons and walk back to the other consist. Here the trick:
3.1: Depending on the lenght of your desired consist uncouple 3-5 MKII wagons at the rear.
3.2: Now make the leading loco of the remaining mkII consist ready and accelerate steep to 5-7mph.(not faster)
3.3: Jump out of the loco direction Bakerloo line and let the train roll out (a little against regular procdure ;) think positive)
3.4: Uncouple the front loco of the other consist and follow the "runaway train into the mainline"
3:5: You just crossed the invisible wall
3.6: If the first Consist came to a stand, follow up and couple your loco on the back (which will be the front loco when heading back to Queens Park.
3.7: At 11:15 accelerate to 40mph (not more) and drive direction Wembley central (yes its the wrong track)
3.8: When the final right turn to wembley central begins, brake to 30mph.
3.9: Enter the signal Block at Wembley central and come to a stop between the signals (important: the rear loco also must pass the signal)
4,0: ca. after 30sec you should see the next class 66 heading directly to you, just wait until the container consist stops.
4.1: make a slight move backwards (direction queens park) and check if the signal shows a green.

    5.0: Board Passengers
5.1: Prepare your train for powering the other loco and heading direction Queens Park, also change ends
5.2: Your Task: Wait until the steam locomotive has passed, after that you are cleared to proceed to Queenspark. (max. 60mph).

Thanks for adding it to the list, the "key" part for a perfect yello / green run to queens park is the time 11:15 or 11:45, where you start to drive dirction wembley central at 40mph to face the 66 when you are in the signal block of wembley central. If you arrive too early, the signal will stay red.

    Here's another one if you haven't played it it's Ruhr-Sieg Nord RE16 13:56 Finnentrop 15:00 Hagen Hbf.
if you are actually run Lethmahe to Hagen Hbf on time you get to the red signal before the station between 14:30-14:55 you have to sit at that red signal for 10 to 20 minutes because an outbound RB 91 is actually occupying your spot. Once it has left move to the station
When I played it yesterday & Wednesday I encountered mostly the Newer Nahverkehr Dresden DB Baureihe 143 some of them are actually in the original DR Baureihe 243 creators club paint alongside 155 & 185.2. Although I haven't seen the newer Pressnitztalbahn Baureihe 155 blue colour.

The Steam Railtour Service on Edinburgh - Glasgow is an enjoyable drive:

1Z46 Edinburgh - Waverly to Glasgow - Queen St @19:54 with the LMS Jubilee Black

Run it in late August for a nice sunset.

The topography allows you to gradually build up speed without losing too much steam such that it isn't long before you are at track speed and having to worry about the slow brakes to adjust to speed reductions.

Also, it is a bit of a challenge to fiddle with the brakes and the small ejector such that you keep a controlled speed down the grade in Queen St. During the run, there is a bit of a surprise:

You hit adverse signals outside Croy. Don't delay acting on them. The red comes up on you quickly.

I like the AWS sounds. There is no way to miss them even with all the noise of a high speed steam cab.

I really enjoyed my first drive on Linke Rheinstrecke:
    SE3361 Koblenz to Mainz (110 + n-Wagen)

You leave Koblenz immediately behind an InterCity. It's a fairly fast run, making limited stops, to Bingen Hbf. However, there you are diverted to track 201 on the other side of the station building from the main line. You wait for ten minutes while two InterCities overtake you. Then you continue to Mainz, stopping at all stations. Your train terminates at Mainz platform 11, one of the pocket tracks outside the station hall. It's a slow path into that platform, so you'll see another InterCity that was following you pull into its platform before your passengers have even finished getting off the train.

You can really feel how tightly your slower service fits into the gaps between the InterCities. I liked that a lot.

One service from MKZ I can recommend is IC 522 in the BR 103 (Starts at 18:20).
You are following EC8 which offers some PZB action if roughly stick to the speed limit. Bonus: Set in late April/early May for a nice sunset

So I finally purchased the 1938 Tube Stock DLC. These are excellent and very challenging runs with lots of SPAD potential - don't ask me how I know that. The GOAT nominee run, 231-11 was a very intense hour of concentration to not SPAD and keep time. Thanks for posting these!

Yes, even with updated Bakerloo timetable it’s a surprise there isn’t more awesome service runs to Harrow & Wealdstone for the 1972 Stock, quite frankly this particular service is the only time I’ll play (and enjoy) the route.

I found 1J54 to be an enjoyable run (BML, 377, Victoria to Southampton). Lots of adverse signals, a stop just before Clapham, and use of a rare platform at Gatwick.

1M99 is another enjoyable run (BML, 387, Brighton to Victoria). A few adverse signals and stops, couple of extra station stops compared to the normal Brighton-Gatwick-Victoria stopping pattern, and... well, if you're playing HUD-less, I hope you know all the crossover speeds around Gatwick!

This timetable continues to impress, now with almost 50 recommended runs! There are actually two 1M99 services, one at 08:22 lasting 1:05 and one at 1:40 lasting 0:58. I assume you mena the one at 08:22?

I held off on running Linke Rheinstrecke (MKZ?) and Niddertalbahn (NTB?) until they were both out because I didn't want to miss out on any AI traffic. I love how the routes intersect and complement each other.

One way I approach learning new routes is to run a service in a loco that I am familiar with. So, my first run on MKZ was with the 401 and I was impressed right out of the box:

ICE 659 Frankfurt to Dusseldorf - Hildegard von Bengin with the 401 on MKZ at 05:47

This requires NTB for the AI traffic.
My first TSW encounter with the 628 was waiting for it at a red signal. The service you wait for is not in the timetable as drivable, so it is AI only. Does anyone know why it is routed that way?

That's a fantastic run. There does seem to be a 500hz magnet bug near the end that will dump your brakes as you approach a red even if you are under 60kph. Nonetheles, I am really loving this route.

Just tried RE 81292 Wilhelmshaven - Bremen Hbf at 10:52 on BRO to have a nice flat run in the BR612. Unfortunately my run was seemingly bugged with a Red before Delmenhorst stop.

I was 2 minutes ahead of schedule since I was running up to the 160 km/h track speed instead of 120, which is probably the intended for the actual stock IRL and not the 612. Before Delmenhorst out 1 km, the signal is red. Thinking its okay since I am early just waited. The arrival time passed still have not got the road. There was a service on my arrival platform at the station that did not depart.

Flying there in the 8 cam it was something inexplicable, train stopped short of the platform as if it was stopped at the signal facing my direction but the driver was in the Bremen end. Also there I could literally see the door switch toggling between open/close infinitely. So that was the end of the run.

If someone else can also reproduce the same result this might not be an awesome run anymore sadly, and it joins the list of red light issues instead.

I simply cannot resist driving the 612 on BRO, especially this run where you get take to air it out for the length of the line. I checked my mileage and BRO has snuck up into third place on total German route mileage for me behind DRA and SKA. Such a nice little route with a fantastic timetable.

Still on the awesome list for me on PC. It worked fine. I had the added challenge of finishing in a dense fog. Sorry you had an issue.

Have been enjoying SEHS Extended again - the timetable busyness and variety is just simply amazing and there needs to be more modern UK routes like this and London Commuter in TSW!

I recommend this enjoyable service which takes around 45 minutes:

    2U54 - Gillingham to Victoria (Gillingham to Dartford) - 0521hrs - Class 465

The service begins without anything of note (well apart from the lovely sunrise) until you reach Gravesend, although you do pass a Class 66 freight service along the way. Once you get nearer to Gravesend you'll start to encounter a lot of adverse signals for most of the way to Dartford. With the extended SEHS, the extension of the Classic lines to Dartford is my favourite, especially with the 465!

The Gau - Algesheim turn on MKZ:
    Start with:

RE (3446) Mainz Hbf to Saarbrucken at 07:04 with the 628.2.

When the service ends at Gau - Algesheim, walk over to the next track to see and take over the return journey:

SE (3407) Idar-Oberstein to Mainz Hbf at 07:28. also with the 628.2.

I enjoy creating "turns" on TSW and this one doesn't feature many adverse signals - though the Mainz approach on return is tricky. It just has nice AI, including one that I also recommend running:

EC (25) Dortmund to Budapest at 06:46 with the 103.

This is an amazing run and how you drive it determines how you will encounter three different services, including that SE 3407 service and an IC 1001 that should wait for you at a side platform in Bingen.

You catch up to a local service with a 628 and encounter adverse signals. The dispatcher is set to route you around this train at Oberwesel. How smoothly you deal with this determines what happens later on in the run. If the 103 service leaves Bingen ahead of you, expect a long wait for a platform at Mainz. If you leave a bit early, you will get around the 628 service sooner, but will still be dispatched for an overtake at Oberwesel. You will also likely beat both of the other two services.

This one is worth running more than once; I have run it twice now with two different results. A GOAT nominee for me.

A nice short service on MKZ:

RE (3403) Bad Kreuzen to Mainz Hbf at 06:45 with the 110
    .

Only 16 minutes, but with a little action near the end.

If you love the Class 465, here's a couple of fantastic service recommendations from SEHS:

    1E93 - London Bridge to Ramsgate - 0915hrs - Class 465

This was one of the best services in ages that I've most enjoyed. Firstly, it's a 55-minute 465 service going from Dartford all the way to Faversham. Secondly, it has quite a unique service pattern as it does not stop at neither Rainham or Sittingbourne, Finally, and what makes this service truly excellent, is once you get to Strood you follow a 375-operated service ahead, which means you'll be encountering a lot of yellow/red signals all the way to Faversham and requires concentration!

    5A19 (Part 1, 2 & 3) - Gillingham Depot to Slade Green Depot - Part 1 (1352hrs), Part 2 (1400hrs) and Part 3 (1434) - Class 465

This was an interesting three-part service which was really enjoyable and goes all the way to Dartford. Just to note that for those who like immersion there's around a 25-minute wait at Rochester for Part 3 to begin, although is quite nice to relax with some trainspotting in the meantime.

The 465 is one of the best - maybe even potentially the best - locos overall in TSW. Thus, I really hope DTG can have some new, more longer routes specifically for the 465; while SEHS is great (especially extension of the Classic lines to Dartford) its services here are still rather short unfortunately.

The ROG DLC adds an interesting 47 service to SEHS. Presumably the 47 is towing a disabled Class37/7 along with the 375 trainset.

5Q58 Derby Litchurch Lane to Ramsgate Depot with the Class 47/4 BLU on SEHS at 13:22.

The 37 is running. So, maybe a braking issue? Whatever, it's a nice bonus run.

No real spoiler here. You leave Rochester after a 375 and deal with it the rest of the way. There is some AWS and some interesting AI, including a solo 66 coming the other way. It was nice to get back into the 47 again. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed driving it.

RB (6030) Mainz Hbf to Koblenz Hbf at 17:23 with the 463.0

This was a nice evening run, with some PZB action as you are diverted at Ingelheim, Bingen Hbf, Bacharach and Oberwesel. Unfortunately, no train passed me, so these diversions were odd.
What made this run interesting was the action around Ingelheim, with a 628, 103, two sets of 110 with N-wagen going in the opposite direction, and a freight train pulls in just as you close the doors and leave the station.

    A fun service on MML:

    5D15 Eastcroft Depot - Loughborough - Class 158

You're driving an empty stock move with a lot of yellow signals :)

That freight that pulls in beside you at Ingelheim is also a great run:

    (74656) Mainz Bischofsheim to Cologne - Part 1 @ 17:29 with the 110

You get PZB action on the way to Ingelheim as you chase RB 6030. Then, you get put in the hole to let a 628 service pass. At Bingen, you pull up beside the RB 6030 again.

I was driving HUDless and got a PZB stop at the end that I think is a signaling bug, but it could be that I missed something. I think you can avoid it if you make sure you are at 40 kph as you pass the 500 hz magnet near kilometer post 0.6.

For most of these, you can just start them from the timetable.
Otherwise, you can use the "On foot" option to spawn close to the start of the service a few minutes before the service starts. Find the train, and sit in the driver position to take over the service.
    No mod needed.

Let's say you want to play the RE50 Leipzig to Dresden (BR146) at 13:45. Since Leipzig is not in the game, you need to take over at Riesa, and then drive to Dresden.
So, from main menu, select "To the trains", then select Nahvehrker Dresden route, select Timetable, select On Foot (first option), then choose Riesa and 13:40 (five minutes before train departure time). You may also choose the weather settings you want, and then start the mission.
You will spawn in Riesa at 13:40, so you need to find the platform where RE50 is due to arrive. I think it's platform 2, check the boards. Scheduled arrival is 13:43 and then departure is at 13:45.
When the train arrives, you want to be positioned at the end of the train, not at the front. If you try to take over at the front, where there is an AI driver, you will be told that you are not allowed. Silly, I know. If you try to sit in the empty seat at the end of the train (in this case, the cab car), you are prompted to take over. Confirm, stand up, and walk to the front of the train, which is now vacant. Sit down, open the doors for passengers, and you're ready to do the run.

The experience may slightly differ though, depending on service and loco. For example, the Grossenheim to Coswig service at 15:03 works slightly differently. When the train arrives, go behind the AI driver and wait until he closes the doors. You cannot take over the service until he does so. No idea why. After you take over, he resets the train completely, so you need to stand up, start the battery, then sit down, open doors, raise panto, close main breaker, activate the master key, and then reverser to forward. It's important to open doors early, as it takes a while to load passengers, and you'll be delayed to leave.

Well, waddayaknow, every day´s a schoolday, or so they say. :)

I didn´t know that and was always *beep* when I got that "you´re not authorized ... " message.
Will try it next time, thanks for the hint. Does this work for freight as well?

Most freight services are A to B, and you find the loco empty.
I don't remember ever having to displace an AI driver from a freight loco.

However, one interesting thing: if you spawn on foot, the service might be using a different loco than expected. Substitutions do happen. Take the 13:03 auto-train Dresden to Riesa. The table above says 185.5 MRCE (the original train for DRA). However, if you spawn on foot, you can get a 112, 155, 185.2, or 182.

Awesome service on Niddertalbahn: RB 7083 Altenstadt - Bad Vilbel

Highlights: You'll skip some stations, will need to wait for 5 minutes (and a bit) at a red light and you'll need to stay sharp until the end. You'll continue as a (very very short) shunting run.
Grand finale: You'll couple to another unit
Bonus: You can keep on playing with the new 4-car unit because it goes back to Stockheim - no long waiting time

(I needed to do this service like three or four times because I failed at every possibility - advice: don't do it before going to bed)
