    Hi,

I reinstalled train sim a couple of days ago and am getting some weird problems with some third party locos.

When I load into quickdrive on settle-carlisle, the AP 37, AP 87 and ATS 185s are all not responsive to the keyboard and the outside looks broken. I've tried clearing the cache and reinstalling the locos but the problem doesn't clear router login. My trains from Steam and from JT work fine.

Has anybody seenthis before and know how to resolve?

Are any other Armstrong Powerhouse vehicles affected, or just those two? What do you mean by the outside looks broken? Do you mean the outside of the locomotive looks broken, or the outside view looks broken?
Are you new to AP products? I only ask as you are new here, but you can't just jump in and drive AP products. You really need to read the manual. Sorry if that is not the case, but just thought I'd get that out there just in case. This is the case for the 185 as well. Both assume a lot of background knowledge, but it is all explained in the documentation.

The the vehicles you are using are stand alone products, and not EPs of any kind, so require no other assets to work, so it has to be something to do with the install process (assuming you have read the manual). I would re-download the installers for everything, and have another go before you escalate this further. The times that has fixed stuff for me I have lost count. I know you said you re-installed, but it was probably from the same installer. There may have been something amiss with the download.

Check your install location is being correctly recorded. I recently re-installed everything onto a new drive with a different letter allocation, and it took a few reboot/Steam launch cycles for installers from AP and ATS to recognise the drive letter had changed from C to G in my case.

I'll continue to have a think about this. Meanwhile, a screenshot of what you mean by "broken" would be useful, as would a screenshot of the folder contents for each loco.

Do these assets behave normally in Standard or Career mode? Is the Quickdrive corrupt?

    Respectfully

Have you changed the numbers of the AP locos using TS Tools or Locoswap?

Yes, that can have some weird effects, with number specific features just not being here, so things like no buffers, couplers etc.... plus it just won't work. Sounds like what you are describing actually.

Delete the folders for these in the RailWorks installation, then try reinstalling them. I've found the existence of some files may be breaking it, but I can't say for certain this is the case here. In the past I was experimenting with the Flying Scotsman Christmas Card game, a free version of RailWorks 2 (still available on Matt Peddlesden's UKTS profile) which has a unique route that I wanted to play in TS. I couldn't get the route to work, but copying the custom assets into TS did end up breaking any asset packs added to, which turned out to be a faulty/outdated MD5 file. Not fully relevant but an interesting story anyway.
