If parts failed QA testing, then why release a patch in te first place. I really don’t understand how they operate at DTG.
Yep, that's DTG specialty. The game wants me to stop right in front of the red light, but the safety systems won't let me do that. So what does the game want from me?! Now after this botched patch it's even worse than ever before.
Further play reveals more problems. I am also getting the HUD "S" indication and a penalty brake at Tower 1 when the signal is not clear on approach to South Station. Then, after passing Tower 1 on a clear signal I got ANOTHER penalty brake, presumably because of passing into ATC restricted territory. Oh and did I mention that the display now shows ACSES and the actual speed instead of ATC and the restricted speed while in the station yard? This on Acela #2150 although I am sure many other services are affected as well. Let's be very clear: the patch to fix signaling problems on NYT has made HAR worse and BPE much worse. It should never have been applied to these routes anyway; HAR already had good signals and BPE had the best signals that it probably could thanks to Brandon. Considering the signals on NYT are still broken as well, this patch only represents a waste of everyone's time.
This patch sugest how bad is inner DTG situation, they seem to not have designers on constant level and constant route knowledge, maybe the rotation of staff is too rapid, they seems to just chase the tail... From my side I loved to drive their trains in the past, now I just sit and think which route is not broken enough for me to enjoy it, and there left few of them...
I actually went back to older routes because of this. I won’t be buying any new routes in the foreseeable future as well. I don’t care about the new lighting as well since the brightness washes everything out and makes it a pain to see. Hopefully they will implement HDR calibration or at least a brightness slider one day.
The crazy thing about NYT is: Everyone here seems very knowledgeable about train systems, etc., and frequents this board to point out problems within the game. Now, imagine being a first-time player with zero train knowledge (and doesn't frequent message boards), entering NYT's tutorial mode and being bombarded with complicated conventions that don't even work as they're supposed to. I guess the term "train sim" implies a certain amount of dedication or experience, but this has to be the least-novice friendly I've seen in 40 years of playing video games. Sadly this is not the only issue with TSW tutorials. I mean, there's a broken tutorial on another route that doesn't even let you enter the cab. I'm totally serious about this: One of the TSW3 splash screens—preferably one advertising new content—should be replaced with a "Having Trouble? Visit the DTG Forum And Ask A Fellow Player For Assistance!" message. Without the resources and knowledgeable members on this board I seriously doubt I'd have ever got through any of this.
After the patch and few services in NYT, HL, and LIRR I downgrade my TSW3 rating on MSstore. to ONE star... They just made me to do it....
Were there more ACS-64 services in the journey mode before the patch? I bought it because it was on sale for 40% off with the Acela. I think I'm going to refund it. The ATC/ACSES are broken. I get a penalty brake in the cab car whenever there's a reduction, despite going directly into suppression. I can't see the PDU in the ACS-64 because the colors are washed-out, but it look fine on BPS for some reason. Yeah, now I'm getting an ATC stop signal at Tower 1 despite the wayside signal showing approach slow. And when entering Providence I also get an ATC stop before I'm even halfway down the platform. BPS was better than ever after Brandon's long-awaited fixes, but now they destroyed it! It's worse than before Brandon's fix now!
