I must say it is actually looking very nice to the point where I can recognise the location of a few of the screenshots and I only use the line once or twice a month so they can't have done a bad job visually. I now can't wait for the preview stream to see a bit more than a few screenshots.

Ha yes I know the feeling!
Yes lets hope that tumble drier sounds on loop will not be a thing for much longer on the 150.

so it does seem that they have not put the unplayable AI services in such as Nottingham-Liverpool/Nottingham-Norwich/Nottingham-Mansfield/Worksop to name a few I feel this in the game would of been better for immersion considering all these use the 158

Well it’s up to pre-order now but there’s just a little residual unease and niggle preventing me from hitting the button just yet. When are we expecting the main preview stream, again?

I honestly don’t see the point of preordering. It’s not like it’s going to out of stock and the discount isn’t significant. I’d just wait until the 18th.

Hello can someone add a link to the page that said a dev said they fixed the 158 sounds from idling in notch 3?

It wasn't a link, it was confirmed further up on this thread that it was a compressor speed up button that was stuck on and was a bug but has been rectified. You'll see that in the stream on Thursday.

Would like to know out of the 131 total services for the HST and 158, how many of them are dead heads and depot moves

I feel it is such a reduced service total, no mention of AI services either. I feel at least 10-15 services for each are depot based, so 40 total services for HST and a few more for the 158 (at a guess).

Looking good, and sounding good too from what I've heard. Though I think there is an element of this game being aimed at a wider audience than TSC which is arguably the more authentic game aimed at the real train nerds out there, yes I have an anorak for those days out on stations and level crossings myself. So I think it might just be toned down a little for the masses compared to the AP sounds for TSC. We shall see. Probably DTG will be hoping to sell this to a few climate orientated people not overly fond of exhaust fumes too, and burbling diesels might not go down to well with them...

Loughborough was mentioned as a terminating station, there are a handful of services that run from Loughborough to Melton Mowbray using Syston North Junction so they may be AI services to and from Loughborough.

not sure but i do feel like the route has a fair potential for some good scenarios, especially freight as ofc it’s lacking in the latter out of the box

I hope so, I just like seeing these routes come to life. I used to always be heading towards Leicester on my motorbike to see these HST's at Sileby/Syston, I sort of want it to be re-enacted on this route with a service every 30 mins for the HST's perhaps.. Like 2 north and 2 south per hour, that's about right isn't it?

I should add that this would reflect on the Leicester to the split off junction before Derby/Nottingham.

Has anybody got an old timetable for EMT from when this route is set please? Be keen to know what total services were HST to Meridians.

    Thank you in advance.

My Nan used to live on Fosse Way in Syston and I used to get the old Leicester-Loughborough "Ivanhoe" stopping service there and back, she passed away in 2001 so back in the days of Central Trains literally anything could turn up, I had 150s,153s,156s and 170s turn up and spending time on the station I'd see HSTs, various freights with 37s, 56s,58s, 60s and then 66s on them so the route then was really busy and still is now but yeah that's about that

Well, having read the article, this dlc looks considerably more interesting than the previous two UK offerings, more trains, more diesel, more services and more pathing variety.

However, my practice these days is to await a consensus among early adopters before pushing the buy button, pre-order discount notwithstanding.

Plus I got stung by NYT which I bought at full price only to see it go on a substantial sale within a month or so.

All being positive, it might be a birthday gift at the end of May.

I have this route in TSC with Just trains with all the extensions and all trains. They did a really good job with it. Like you mentioned I now have a way and see approach. But after this nothing really interesting for me other than the 700 since I’m not i interested in peak forest.I hope that the UK route we get in the summer includes the 700s

It will be the same price now as it will be 5 minutes before the release. So just wait for the preview stream and decide after you watch it.

Trains are looking stunning as usual but why oh why is the scenery so bare in places? :( ss_162038634717b9895085ae62fcf400f7f0675b8e.1920x1080.jpg

Genuinely looking forward to the preview stream. I‘ve really been enjoying the British routes as of late, preferably late at night with some nice music in the background. Niddertalbahn is essentially the only time I leave the UK in the TSW universe right now! ;)

Have they gave a year for when this route is set? I've just checked and in 2010, the station and area around it was quite plain. I just worry that this appears to arcade looking because there's not much foliage or flora attached (and there should be).

May not get changed now anyway, WYSIWYG.

Well I've just pre-ordered it, which I never normally do, but being a decent length UK route with 2 new units running on it, (ok so the HST is a new variant which is nearly as good - but check out those cool liveries...), and based on the screenies and sounds from Megasim's YouTube video are enough to get me excited too and he sounded like a kid in a candy shop talking about his local route .Besides the 10% discount will pay for my next happy meal!

In my own opinion I don't think it's a decent length as it seems to short being around 40 miles with fast trains blitzing (not mention WW2) the route.

Fair point. But this seems to be the way TSW3 is going. To me it's like a fancy bistro where the food is delicious but you have to go a chippy after to fill yourself up - the "chippy" being TSC.

A decent length would have been Leicester to Sheffield or come south towards Bedford. However as you say it’s a trend and not just in TSW. The latest Japanese route coming out for TSC is also very short, although that to some extent is offset by the complexity - 8 track main line in some places. I would like to hope this (MML) route is the foundation stone for something bigger and rather than leaping across to another 30 or 40 mile project, Skyhook will look to extend ultimately covering as much of the Midland route as TSW can take.

40 miles is what, 20 mins in the HST?, sounds fine to me, 30 mins is about my sweetspot.

Unlike the GWE it's not just 125mph the whole way, different speeds and complex junctions especially at Nottingham, it's a fascinating route in real life as well.

Looks like that's beyond grass rendering distance. But yes, some routes have much better blending between the ground texture and the grass, even if there is no other, bigger foliage at the place.

Overall looking at the screen shots the route generally looks very good and the 158 and HST certainly do, although I still think the interior of the class 158 is a bit too bright. Maybe it will look different on my own set up.

I will watch the streams before deciding and might even wait till after release and watch a few videos on Youtube first.

I want to get it being a UK diesel route however I do think it is a little too short really. I have driven it in TSC and even Leicester to Sheffield isn't that long a journey although probably the perfect length for me. Leicester to Derby is not a long stretch of line nor is Leicester to Nottingham, you won't spend a huge amount longer in the HST than you do on Paddington to Reading, although at least there will be one or two stops along the way.

I do hope the slightly bare lineside in the some of the screenshots is just because they are WIP shots.

I was very excited about this route, but ultimately this will be a sale buy now.

The 158 is overly bright & clean, and has the wrong PIS.

The route looks sterile as usual, whilst being quite short.

This month is going to be either this DLC, or the new Balkan DLC for ETS2 for me, and unfortunately I think I’m at the point where TSW is asking too much in terms of cost for what I’m getting.

seems to be a trend in tsw of having the incorrect pis screens, for example the 465 looks way off. idk what’s so hard about getting it right tbh?

Go to 0:15 in the video for interior view

Looks pretty similar to me (if overbright on the colours but that seems to very much be a TSW3 thing generally)

The interior PIS is pretty spot on, the exterior scrolling is just way off the mark.

yeah that’s what i mean. exterior pis screens are always incorrect in tsw pretty much always. i don’t know what’s so hard to make it accurate really, i just hope the 700’s pis screens are accurate as ik the interior ones are fairly complex and the outside ones are fairly basic
