The Train Sim World tutorial in GWE is unable to be completed. Once given the instruction to open the Class 166 doors with the X button, nothing happens and it is not possible to proceed.
Are you sure you're supposed to simply press X? If you check the control guide (in the Pause menu), you should see that opening the doors is done with either Left or Right press on D-Pad (if using Immersion control scheme), or by holding either Left or Right on D-Pad (I don't remember which one it is for Classic control scheme) then choosing the correct option in the menu that pops up.
What game are you playing and which tutorial is this? I haven't played GWE in a very long time, and I don't remember it well. If you give me the details, I can try to reproduce the issue.
This is the original TSW introduction which can be found in the GWE section. I believe it is the introduction for the game as a whole.
I've had the same exact issue and reported it (TSW3/GWE/PS5), others have experienced the same. It's definitely known that this tutorial is bugged, no workaround has been found as far as I know. You can open the door before you're supposed to and come back to it, but then it won't let you sit in a seat.
Is this the route introduction? I just re-played it, and there's no 166 in it. I boarded and sat in an HST Class 43 at Slough, and completed the introduction without issues. The only thing was sitting in an open seat: although there were many seats available, I could only sit in a few of them. It might be caused by the invisible passengers issue, where you seem to bump into people that are not visible. If there are invisible passengers in those seats, it would explain why you can only sit in some seats, but not all.
IIRC, it's after you walk into the blue directional cone toward the cab door. You're prompted to open the door but can't. I can open the door before I'm supposed to then come back to it, but then I lose the button prompt to sit in a seat. I don't know if its the 166 or not, but it's definitely the GWE tutorial. I'll give it another go on my PS4 as the PS5 is in for repair.
Update: It's not a GWE route intro but the general TSW intro within the GWE tutorials, and it only appears to be in the TSW3. Issue replicated on PS4.
How do I play this particular mission? I tried "To the trains", and then "Choose a route", chose GWE, and under training modules I see: GWE Introduction Class 43 Introduction Class 166 Introduction Class 66 Introduction Station Stopping I assume it's not one of these.
Are you playing TSW2 by chance? Because I just checked and it's not there. There's a sixth option for a general TSW intro that is only on the TSW3 version. I believe it's the first option but I'd have to go back and check.
Of course I'm trying TSW3. TSW2 does not have "To the trains" menu option. You must first pick a route.
I was asking because your version of TSW3 seems to be missing an option compared to ours (see attached screenshot). I also don't see this option on TSW2.
Okay, this is strange. I went all the way back to TSW1 and replayed this intro from there, it works fine. Then I went to TSW2 and it appears to have been removed. It's back on TSW3 except now it doesn't work. All on PS4 Pro. It's possible that DTG removed it from TSW2 because they realized a general tutorial probably shouldn't be buried within DLC. Then it was somehow brought back to the surface with the PS4/5 version of TSW3/GWE except now it doesn't work. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.
Following up on my last post; I'm now positive the GWE intro tutorial is not supposed to be in the TSW3 tutorial menu. Why? Because the TSW2 SEHS intro is also showing in the TSW3 tutorial menu. It even says "Welcome to Train Sim World 2." Unlike the GWE glitched intro, the TSW2 SEHS intro can be completed, although it is a bit tricky. The simple solution seems to be to remove these phantom intros from the menus via patch, but, they're also connected to trophy completion.
This is still broken as of July 2023 and is tied to the GWE tutorial trophy. The Cajon Pass tutorial trophy is also broken, neither of which caused me any issues on the PS4. What a great introduction to the PS5 edition of this game
I think this is related to add-ons manager as I don't recall seeing the "Train Sim World Introduction" tutorial in GWE before add-ons manager got added to the game. Just checked on PC, which doesn't have add-ons manager and can confirm the old game tutorial does not show up in the menu. SEHS also had some oddities, it has both the TSW2 and TSW3 route introduction now as well as both game's 465 tutorial.
Just came here to report it isn't working. ofc it lets you sit down in the seats of the sxecond car ,but not the one you are supposed to sit down in >_< also, someone has gotten this trophy in july 2023 and i contacted then via psn to ask them how. you can definitely tell it isn't supposed to be in the game because it wasn't even in tsw2. - i checked becaused i was gonna complete it in tsw2 then import the save over to tsw3 like i've done for a few other bugged routes.
