I would love to see the London Underground and NYC Subway (among other systems) in TS/TSW.

One must wonder: why haven't these systems been incorporated into Dovetail's TRAINS franchise [yet]? If anyone has an answer, please do tell.

    Kind regards,
    A DTG Fan (JoeTransit)

How much freight can you haul through a metro??

All joking aside, i would consider most subways and light rail urban transportation systems separate from common carrier railroads because of their specialised passenger only venue. There is the world of Subway franchise that provides segments of the major Subway/metro systems. There is one german light rail only system produced by a third party for TS, while well done, I enjoyed it at first but soon tired of the repeativie nature of the operation with no real variety.

So to answer your question why they haven't been incorporated, could be my experience isn't unique to me and many view the Metro/Subway as a nice diversion but limited replayability after running over the schedule a few times. Therefore, these routes might not be viewed a big sellers.

Of course, everyone has different desires and interests - so no way am I trying to say it is a bad idea, just offering a potential answer to your question.

(1)Wheel sounds are very important to feel like realism. All the 8 wheels should sound differently in harmonism while passing through a portion of track. These sounds actually make trains differ from other vehicles. So sound of a moving train is very much important in a train sim.
    (2) Another thing a train sim must have is a little bit of trembling while a train of wagons move depending upon portion of the track such as curve , jointed tracks, junctions. Both lateral as well as a bit vertical movement in synchronism will do the better for every train for both player as well as AI.
    (3) All AI should also be able to blow horn here and there to feel like realism.

Backdated Train Sim have done the East London Line. While it's a short line it can authentically be used with 1938 London Underground Stock which is available from DTG.

Just Trains are working on London Underground "S Stock" and are strongly rumoured to be also working on a full Metropolitan Line. Another third party content maker has also thrown their hat into the ring and are looking to develop one of the deep level tube lines. And if Crossrail doesn't appear in either TS or TSW at some point in the next couple of years I will personally eat all of my hats.
There's also the Frankfurt U Bahn and S-bahn Rhein-Main from Just Trains and DTG's Hamburg S-Bahn route.

I hope that is of help.

All true, but we'd like some for TSW too. Crossrail has no sign of coming to TS yet, although as you said I would be very surprised since a lot of the line is already in TS. We just need a 345 to go with it.

TSW is in its infancy. I'm 100% certain there will be an Underground, Metro or U/S Bahn route at some point. It's a case of waiting patiently in my opinion, TS had an even slower start, there was very little choice for the first 3-4 years from memory.

There's nothing to say Crossrail won't come to TS. The line isn't open yet.

Yes of course. I assumed it was more of an overground suburban line but admittedly I've not given it a go yet.

I have tsw for ps4 and so far it is great but adding a metro system is complex because a good part of lines are less than 25 miles in the nyc subway, the A Line is the only route great for tsw due to the whole route being 31 miles of trackage but all other lines are less than 25 or 20 miles.

One could also argue, however, that albeit the lines being shorter in length, they provide more stations (unless it is like the E Line, which is super express in Queens) and would surely be of interest for the gamer who likes stopping services and going fast at the same time! :)

What about the Frankfurt U-Bahm from Just Trains
It's a Light Rail system rather than an Underground system
This has Street Running, Tunnel Running different types of stock and places where mainline and U-Bahn run side by side
Because it runs in TS2019 you can also run any train on the U-Bahn sections

I really like that one from Frankfurt. But I agree, I would like to see more subway systems for TS 2019.

Totally agree on New York's Subway Line A. A good mixture of slow and express options in the tunnels, then there's the open air section which runs past JFK airport then across the water to Rockaway. You Tuber DJ Hammers has published a "cab" ride recently that's worth a look. There's also a nice mixture of cascaded NYC stock that could be used for back-dated and current versions of other lines on the system.

I love being a New Yorker (at times). :P It's literally teeming with railways everywhere, whether defunct, freight, commuter, subway, national express, or national/regional! The A Line is truly the best way to capture the essence of the City. It runs all the way from Inwood - 207th Street (at the northern border of Manhattan and next to the Harlem River) through the busy West Side of Manhattan being a super express train between 125 St. and 59 St Columbus Circle, into the more-or-less equally busy west Brooklyn via the East River, finally coming into Queens and becoming a local service when the C Line terminates at Euclid Av. (second to last stop in Brooklyn). It has three branches: Lefferts, Rockaway Park via Broad Channel, & Far Rockaway via Broad Channel. It would be great to see this line implemented, as well as the C, since it is the local variant that runs alongside it for its entirety.

But it is fact the most famous line in the nyc system is the 7 line but to make tsw not boring, to add the C line along with A Line and their respective locomotives would keep people plugged 24/7 unlike Lirr dlc which has one locomotive, the M7 when there is also the DE30/DM30AC Locomotives, meaning by adding variety to a metro system while keep it interesting. I know this because I live in New York and use the nyct subway close to daily.

I get that picture but WOS 4 has the 7 line with an antique locomotive that is no longer used and is retired so by adding the 7 line with it's extention to the hudson yards ties in to NEC and the Long Island Railroad Dlc respectively.

The 7 is one of the most unique lines but it doesn't really capture NYC, in my opinion. It only has 4 stops in Manhattan.

Why go buy another simulator when the route could be part of TS2019??

yeah TS has enough capability to simulate every kind of route in the world both physics and environment wise.

WOS4 is okay, the stability of that game is very questionable though. I'd rather it be in TS/W. The A line I would agree is good suggestion, But so would the Brighton and West End/Culver lines.. Honestly, all of the lines would be great, really.
