You are a very brave man taking on the role of Community Manager. You can either defend the company line or challenge the bean counters or somewhere in between. I, for one, have felt sympathy with people like Matt Peddleston and the younger team, who have to face the (enthusiast) customer public. It is hard to imagine that their their job satisfaction amounts to much given their requirement to defend the needless poor quality of what the customer eventually recieves. I do not know if it is possible for you to make a difference but if you can all of the customers on the forums would be utterley delighted. The developers need more time to develop a route or loco, to iron out bugs and produce a relatively finished and quality controlled project before launch. Launch dates need to be flexible and and not ruled by financial bottom lines. The customers know that TSW3 can be great and they all want it to be. They want DTG to be great, not an embarrassement. Many forum members with relevant skills would be anxious to help. Anything you can do to facilitate DTG being great would be highly appeciated by everybody and I wish you the best of luck and I am absolutely convinced that all the forum members would too. I say all this in ignorance of what you would be allowed to do regarding lobbying for improvement without getting the sack.

I also want to give Jan a proper welcome at his first official presentation at the forum community! Because he is from Germany, the German TSW community can also speak in German to him. Then JD and Alex can take some German lessons right away. But joking aside, there are some (younger) players who just keep posting in German, even though they are in an English-speaking forum. So it will definitely be helpful to have a German speaking community manager. Rivet Games has Jasper, who can also switch between German and English very well, since he comes also from Germany and has now become a German Scot. ;)

Maybe another tip: sometimes there is a lot of complaining, as you can see with the latest MML release again. But there are also many constructive and helpful members. What is important, however, is that the job is fun and that you can also learn a lot about trains at the same time!

Another one? I lost count at the number of community members I've seen over the past few years...

At least German names on streams will be pronounced correctly!

Seriously, Jan, welcome, and your time as a ticket-taker and conductor for OeBB will really be useful background, for dealing with angry and often irrational customers all day, ;)

As a German-speaking member of the community, a warm welcome to Jan!
It’s amazing to finally have someone with experience working in passenger rail and thus with a deeper understanding of trains and everything that’s got to do with them in the community team. Also especially cool to learn that Jan used to accompany trains to Passau, where I go to university.
Once again, herzlich willkommen Jan! :)

Ein frohes Herzlich Willkommen auch von mir an dieser Stelle!! :)
Hope to see you in future streams showcasing the incredible German content that will be offered to us!

One thing ... why has your username an underscore and all letters are lower case? Itches me ^^

    Good morning!
Thank you very much for the warm welcome, you make me feel right at home :)
This is my first week and it's been a whirlwind of information to take in, but I'm super excited to be here. I'm completely new to this industry, so I ask that you be a bit patient with me while I try to find my footing, but as soon as I have I'll make sure to be the best CM I can be for you guys.

(Going to be completely honest here, the best part of going to Passau on a regular basis was stocking up on Zwiebelmettwurst at the Netto next to the main station, I really miss that here in Austria...)

    What can I say, I'm a Frechdachs ;)
