I was just about to see what the Midland Mainline Achievements are and saw that the Peak Forest Railway (PFR) ones are already there. We usually get new Xbox Achievements after the DLC Release. This probably means that the Release is very close.
The diesels would have to be rebuilt. I don't think the ones in game are appropriate for the era. It's not just a livery change according to dtg
Well I could cope with the 101 just being repainted and the 45 would only need a few modifications such as the headcode box and removal of the ETH off the top of my head. If they do an enhancement pack I would however expect the peak to be fully reverted to /0 condition. Not having the peaks on this route is like WCML 2023 without a pendolino or a present day ECML with out an Azuma as the peaks were the common traction on the expresses on this line at the time. In the same way the Millers Dale branch were all DMU services as well.
New achievement spotted! Peak Forest Wanderer: drive your first buggy steam train from an unimportant junction to an equally illogical end point. ;P
Must not be too far away now. Interested to see how the 4F turns out as they’ve had Ed working on the steam and firebox physics for it this time around. As for diesels, I wouldn’t expect them in the base package of the route as the focus of the devs was always on steam traction. DTG could’ve announced it was set in a pre-diesel year and then they wouldn’t have had the backlash on rolling stock. The route start/end points are still odd regardless though. If any BR Green diesels come to this route, I’d imagine they come from an expansion pack for the route or maybe a hypothetical BR Green diesel route that layers onto Peak Forest. Either way, a steam/diesel crossover era route would be great to see in TSW eventually, along with some ‘Big Four’ era content.
