Welcome to the Unofficial Screenshot Competition This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG. Here you can share your weekly themed TSC screenshots using any 3rd party / post shot editing etc. creations which are not allowed in the official competition. Rules: TSC only shots allowed. Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. Otherwise anything goes. You can enter up to 3 screenshots, posted as separate posts. You can delete and replace if you wish. 3rd party content / Reshades / Reskins etc. are welcomed but are not mandatory. Previous week's winner to decide winner (can't enter themselves). The winner chooses the new theme for next week (and becomes the new judge). The Judge of the week's decision is final. We strongly discourage any negative comment or criticism of another entry by a fellow contributor, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so. Please keep chat to an absolute minimum. Entries will close at 9:00 PM GMT on Friday, April 21st and will be judged by me - cscarpenter In the event of this weeks winner not responding by 5:00 PM GMT Sunday, April 23rd, a new thread will be created using the theme with the highest votes in this weeks poll. This weeks theme is "It's All About The Freight". Feel free to interpret however you wish, e.g. complete freight trains, yards full of wagons, loading / unloading, container ports, etc. etc. it's entirely up to you. Good luck to all, but most importantly, remember to have fun.
GB Railfreight Class 66 '66743' leads service 6T80 05:45 Huntingdon - Whitemoor Yard, currenlty headed for Welwyn Garden City where '66743' will then couple up to the other end of the wagons and head to Hitchin where there will then be a driver change for the drive on the Cambridge Branch Line as Network Rail finishes up an overnight possession on the East Coast Main Line in 2014. Loco: British Rail Class 66 Route: East Coast Main Line London-Peterborough
4 BNSF GE ES44DCs '6900', '4323', '5156' and '5155' lead train VRICCLO1 through the mountains after previously having departed from Bakersfield and now headed for Mojave. Loco: GE ES44DC Route: Tehachapi Pass: Mojave - Bakersfield
DB Class 294 '294 800-8' hauls some freight wagons headed for Hannover Nordhafen. Locos: DB Class 294, ICE 2 Route: Hamburg-Hanover
Route: Koln-Koblenz Train; DB BR 294. After picking up intermodal cars at Koln Eifeltor, Railion 294 800-8 is sent to load up containers at the terminal.
Buxton Limestone Industries to the left ..... Roadstone RMC to the right a meeting of JGA-K wagons on the Midland Mainline.
Lots of cool shots of large diesels entered so far. So mor my first entry, here is a tiny narrow gauge engine.
A meeting of freight, a southbound Class 66 hauled rake of 25x empty JSA wagons meets a Class 68 hauled engineers train of JNA wagons on the ATS WCMLN {aka The Missing Link}
DC Rail Freight 60029 heads away from a signal check on the down slow after leaving the Mid Cheshire lines (CLC) Hartford east junction with an empty Lostock works - Warrington Arpley working.
Alright, sensible entry. Given the power shortage at Norfolk Southern, the Coal District is now served by Union Pacific with unusual equipment: the special paint 3300, a veteran GP35 and matching heritage hoppers.
You can guess I'm silly today, I have my reasons, but here is entry number three. Santa Claus Railway's SCRW EMD F7 pulls some bulkhead flats loaded with boxes through very special scenery.
My 2nd entry: Loco: NER O class with a mixed freight of NER wagons (Caledonia Works) Map: Stainmore & Shap (Steam sounds supreme et consortes).
Hi all, the end of another week and I have the unenviable task of trying to needle out winners from this terrific set of shots. A serious well done to all, I genuinely love seeing the varying interpretations of the themes you guys come up with. So here goes, in my humble opinion I have decided to go with:- In Joint 3rd Place Craigie-C & PaulC for these wonderful shots of hard working freight trains plying their trade across the UK (not often we see a DCR Class 60 in this comp LOL) 2nd Place and Silver podium place is awarded to Ardaeshir for really capturing the feel of historic freight movements. Which just leaves me with the honour of announcing this weeks winner as ......... ...... I'm a railfan obviously for this German FLT scene. I really liked how the low down angle drew my eyes to the Terminal and container loading operation as well as the Loco. Well done. The Golden Master Key is all yours to take us forward to Week 17.
I would also like to award an honourable mention to Blazin and Trainsandgames for these amazing offerings. Although they didn't quite make it to podium choices they are nonetheless great captures you should be proud of, well done.
Thanks for the win Cscarpenter! I will make the new thread in a bit. Here it is: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/unofficial-screenshot-contest-2023-week-17.69563/
Congratulations I'm a railfan obviously and to all for your terrific contributions. Thanks cscarpenter for the podium place it is much appreciated. Here's to next week.
Big congrats to @I'm a railfan obviously! Also, big thanks cscarpenter for a place on the podium as well.
You are more than welcome, just love your "out of the box thinking" contributions. Long may they continue.
