This is where I could have created all those posts into one. I have clearly noticed that all the US freight routes don't have Amtrak services in TSW3. The only three I'm gonna leave out is Cane Creek, Clinchfield Railroad, and Sherman Hill because IRL they either have just freight or the stations use excursion passenger trains. All others I'll include. One of them won't make sense though. Starting off with Cajon Pass, they will get the Southwest Chief with a P42DC, a baggage car, and all types of superliners. Next is Horseshoe Curve, which will get the Pennsylvanian with a P42DC, a baggage car, and both types of amfleets. Then it's Sand Patch Grade with only one stop on the entire route which will have the Capitol Limited with a P42DC, a baggage car, and both types of amfleets. Lastly is the Oakville Subdivision, which will have the Maple Leaf with a P42DC and both types of amfleets, making stops only at Aldershot and Oakville. Rest can be carried by GO Transit. Special mention to Boston Sprinter, which will get the night owl service running only at night with P42DCs and amfleets. I don't know if it uses a baggage car. I believe it also uses viewliners like the special services you see on NYT, though in TSW3 it's strictly just amfleets. I believe as well that all these can have ALC-42s.
Those two other locomotives I don't know about. It's the P42DCs that I know well from Engines Of Amtrak by AmtrakGuy365
There's not enough services on the existing routes to justify adding the content into the game. Not to mention the routes are so short that you'd blast through the in-game lengths within 20-45 minutes (remember, the passenger speed limits are higher on the freight routes). I'd like to see additional Amtrak equipment in-game, but there would have to be a route that's short enough to meet the limitations of the game engine but long enough that you get more than a half hour sprint between two stations that only get service at 2AM. Some of the State-sponsored corridors would be excellent candidates for this. Routes like the Hudson Division, Springfield Service, Keystone, Pacific Surfliner and Amtrak California trains, Cascades Service, etc. These routes could be represented either as a whole for the shorter runs (Springfield) or portions for the longer trains (Surfliner, Cascades). Having these corridors introduces an entire chunk of Amtrak's current fleet and allows players to run P32AC-DMs, P42s, F59PHIs, SC44s, P32BWH-8s, and various cab control cars and NPCUs.
I didn't notice my mistake there as it's too easy for me to incorrectly mix up superliners and amfleets.
