It has probably something to do with this: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...in-game-speed-limit-system.65312/#post-614417 Something was changed to the way speed limits are managed with TSW3. With the new routes this seems to have changed to its original state back again (only my observation).
I apologize if this is already written somewhere, in this very long thread. As far as I know, the BR 101 was put into Service in 1995. The Route is set in 1997, would it not be possible to find the BR 101 instead of the BR 103?
Was anywhere mentioned, if there is some planned DLC for this route? I really like this route and its trains, but there is still lack of consist. Other germans routes are full of layered trains, and this is something what is missing there. DTG opened new doors with setting route to 1997 and this is nice chance to make some older trains for it.
ABOUT THE BRAKES (BR 103 and BR 110): before applying the brakes, move the tap changer to 0, wait for the "clack" sound and then start braking. The brakes behave normal, without excessive amount of brake force. There are 2 or 3 seconds delay between the tap changer moved to 0 and the "clack" sound.
I can’t complete service ic 924 Frankfurt to Düsseldorf departing 2:09. I get stukc at a red signal 1.3km from koblenz hbf because a freight service 55355 from cologne to Mannheim supposed to depart at 3:03 or 5 mins before my arrival is blocking the platform. I waited 30 mins it’s stuck there
On Mastery, It is mentioned if you completes 2 scenarios, you get "fireworks" near St. Goar station. I did it, but I could not see them! No time specification is mentioned, so I went there at sunset and at night, but I could not see any fireworks there. Have you see them? Could some one else specify the conditions needed to see them?
Have not made the mastery yet, but my guess is you need to activate it in the menu like the other mastery tier 2 awards. About the time i just saw around 500 posters on the map about the st.goar firework, cant remeber now if there id a time shown or a hint. (Sylvester?)
Thanks for your reply. But I believed I have so make something extra, but do not remember where and how to do it! Any help about it, be appreciated.
Speaking of mastery, for me the reward of this route are the best so far. First, you find signs at the stations announcing the event, which is a nice touch. Second, they are only activated in low light conditions, so depending on the month of the year they become visible earlier or later. And thirdly, it's amazing to drive a train at night and as you approach St. Goar's you see all those fireworks in the distance, and how they reflect on the river, and even on the rails and the cars parked near the station. And it might look like they come out of nowhere, but if you look closely you can see that they are launched from the boats. I think it has been done with love and I want to thank the team for such a beautiful and detailed job.
Thanks for the further details about it! I guessed they will be only at dark conditions, as fireworks usually are displayed. Could you please be more specific about where they appears? I mean, they are at the other side of the river, or it is in the same one the train is running? Thanks in advance
You are welcome! They are launched from the village of St. Goar, but mostly from boats on the river. There are lots of them, if you have them activated you will see them for sure, and if you are driving you will see them even from well before you get to the village. It is a burst of colour and sound. Although they are activated at sunset, they are best enjoyed at night.
I saw it last night. It was more than I expected! Even... I believe it is too much, for such a small town.. But they are really great with several different effects. Even the sounds are very nice too! The strange thing are the ones coming from the water directly. May be they could include some boats there.
Some pictures here: Note 1: Please notice it started to rain, when I arrive there, so you can see the reflection of the fireworks on the platform on some picture. Note 2: Please notice I selected the "colorful" paint scheme of the DB 103, which was ideal for such situation.
Hello everyone, I noticed something else in front of the Mainz train station. There should actually be a signal box here, which is completely missing. it would be nice if you could add that afterwards... maybe you can also make a little mastery rewards out there so that the signal box becomes accessible.
This area looks so bland and lifeless in general, to be honest. I remember being really skeptical about the route at first because they started the preview stream there. Thankfully, the the rest of the scenery all the way to Koblenz is absolutely amazing. But the area around Mainz could definitely use some love.
I've spent quite some time on Linke Rheinstrecke now, thanks to the fantastic DB BR 628. And freight, but with an mod that replaces the 110s with 155s *psssst* ;-) Before I don't remember my thought and have to necro post: I watched a lot of YouTube Videos of cabrides there now and knowing the fact, that DTG used LIDAR to carve the valley out of rock in the Unreal Engine, I have to point out, how close to reality the end result is. Let's hope for a patch that fixes some remaining odds arrives soon and this will become another "every service has a medal"-route for me Oh and before I forget, I have to say it: A future DLC for a modern timetable (new journeys...) will be a day-1 purchase of course then :-D
I can really echo this! It is a great route, especially after the 628 made its debut on there. The scenery makes it really special, I love the views onto the river, the fireworks at St Goar, the cars left and right to the tracks. However, unfortuantely it has shown me again, I like the modern rolling stock. Luckily I am on PC and there are some quite nice Mods out there. There are basically two main reasons I am not driving the BR103 that much, one being the fact that it is too old, the other one being the fact that this loco sounds and feels exactly like the BR110, which I am having a hard time believing. I am not even talking about the desaster with the brakes... Anyway, with the upcoming patch, it absolutely has the potential to be driven much much more And, yes, a modern timetable would be a welcome DLC!
That's exactly why I didn't buy it yet, despite being interested in this rolling stock. I like the driving style of the older rolling stock, but it needs to be correctly reproduced.
Is it incorrect? I am about to buy this knowing the fixes are imminent, is it definite that the BR 103 is not correct in its performance?
Thanks for that so it is mainly in terms of braking it is incorrect? I will purchase it anyway I think and see what I think. I was more concerned about it and 110 feeling similar to drive, if indeed they shouldn't, I understand the 103 is more powerful.
Yes, it’s mainly the brakes. Don’t get me wrong, physically the Br103 is different to the 110, but it sounds exactly the same. All buttons, engine, brake sounds are the same and, hence, you simply have the same feeling when driving it. It’s just too obvious for me to ignore this… then again, as I have said, it’s too old for my taste. Even though my age would fit perfectly But it still is a great route and I would definitely buy it again!
There is a slight difference in the pitch of the traction motors. Other than that, everything else sounds similar.
My, perspectives cam be different. I remember the fanfare surrounding the new, blazing fast 103 entering regular service in front of the brand new Intercity
Yep, as I have said, generation wise, it should press all the right buttons for me But for whatever strange reason, I am more interested in the modern stock. It relates more to what we see every day, nowadays, I guess…
Curiously, it’s the other way around for me. Generation-wise, I should be most interested in the modern stuff, but I’ll take vintage stuff over modern every day.
I seem to remember Matt saying that it is only the Germans requesting this time period. So, according to this, you guys are the majority;-)
I am late giving feedback, I know. But one thing, which has probably emergancy stopped me about 5 times already, is starting to realy annoy me. There is a missing advanced signal for sbk16, just ahead of Heidesheim Hp (going north): This signal hides behind a right hand bend and you can not see it from far away. You would assume that the Asig from Uhlerborn has the advanced signal for sbk16 mounted onto it, however, it looks like this in game: There is an advanced signal repeater for the sbk 16, which is about 300m in front of it, making it impossible to stop. And as it has no 1000Hz magnet, PZB will only react on the active 500Hz magnet if sbk16 shows HP0. Please, DTG, please get this fixed for the next update. BTW: one more thing I have noticed, none of the advanced signal repeaters on LFR have the little white indicator light. They all have it installed, but none of them are actually lid. Also correct is that they dont have the advanced signal mast sign. All of this is correct, but why, oh why, is it then so difficult to make sure that the light is actually on?! On past routes it was much better implemented. Some were missing, yes, but on this route all of them are...
The signalising between Mainz and Gau Algesheim (and vice versa) ist quite buggy at all. Hope they fix this issues.
As HUDless player I am very dissapointed with Linke Rheinstrecke. First speed reduction I approached has missing advance sign (140 > 110 when driving from Koblenz). Really? First one? There are not beta tests driving routes at least once in every direction before releasing it? I would say it is not big problem to fix (just add signs), but my older experience is telling me, these are errors which will not be fixed (hello speed signs with wrong numbers on DCZ).
After today’s patch it appears there are some shadow issues at Mainz. I presume it’s shadowing. I’m on PS5.
Missing OHLE at bingen is fixed, thats the only thing i could test. Today ill go for a run out of koblenz where the speed is changing to 100 without any sign.
