I wonder if the reason we haven’t seen a NYC subway route by now, is that DTG can’t get the licence off whoever runs it these days. Otherwise almost perfect fit to the primary paradigm of short electrified all stations commuter route with an EMU.
I wouldn't be surprised if it's due to safety reasons. There's been many stories of teenagers and kids pulling emergency brakes, subway surfing, disconnecting passenger coaches and many more. Having the new York subway in game could raise concerns since it could give the ability for them to operate the train in illegal ways and cause more danger. It was mentioned by Matt that sometimes the reason why licenses are not obtained is due to being able to use tsw to trespass into the trains since it's a simulation
Probably due to the units no longer running. For wos4, the units retired in 2003 according to wikipedia. Don't know about wos1. Another reason could be that it wasn't too big of an issue back then compared to now.
This DTG already have Metro-North and LIRR licenses, so I'm sure they have a contact with the MTA and it wouldn't be a stretch to get an NYCTA license. Having one of the busiest subway systems under one of the most security-sensitive cities accurately represented in a simulator would be fun for us railfans, but probably not ideal for the MTA Police. Not to say it couldn't happen, the World of Subways series of sims has done both PATH and the 7 previously, but DTG probably just doesn't want to deal with it. I'm also not quite sure how easy it would be to simulate the NYCTA's time signalling
How about the Boston Massachusetts green line think of it as the American version of Rhein Main Verkehrsverbund U-Bahn Frankfurt
Thank you for telling me about this so is the New Jersey Transit Newark City subway which has Street Running by where it Crosses the Morris & Essex Lines at I-280 Exit 13 Junction 13 for UK community. How about the Boston red and orange lines SEH power change with Subway the Boston Blue Line will those fit here? I wonder if the community is fine with the Queens Boulevard line think of it as an underground GWML that plays like Bakerloo line
