Hi guys I've bought this game for PS4 and am hopeful it will arrive before the start of next week so my first post is basically looking for tips from experienced gamers for what a newbie should do before trying out the routes etc?
I am fairly certain it's not the standard edition I bought so I presume I'll have all the routes so I've got an idea of what routes I'll try out: Glasgow to Edinburgh, The East and West Midlands lines and possibly the South Eastern fast speed line. Anymore recommendations would be gladly appreciated ;).

I'm hopeful of getting tips off you guys and look forward to contributing to threads etc :).

Hi mate, I would highly recommend Northern Trans-Pennine, Tees Valley Line and Birmingham Cross City Line.

If you bought TSW3 disc, there's only one version so you'll get Training Centre, Kassel-Wurzburg, South Eastern High Speed, and Cajon Pass. If you bought TSW2 disc, there's about 8 billion versions of that on disc so from memory with base version, you'd get at minimum Sand Patch Grade, Barkerloo and a German route I forgot. Any other versions and you'll end up with more

It's the train sim world 3 disk i got so oh no that means I won't have the lines I'm wanting to try out so is there a way of getting them as I don't want to send it back for a TSW2 disk :(?

Buy the TSW2 disc then log a ticket with DTG. You can get the TSW2 routes that come in your TSW2 package (depends which version it is) in TSW3 for no additional cost this way

All other routes need to be purchased as DLC

This is Just my opinion, TSW3 is much more advanced than TSW2

The problem is I can't get to try out the lines I want to by getting the TSW3 disc if what firas#2762 is saying above unless I'm misunderstanding what's being said. I may have to do a bit of playing about on the game once it arrives before going on to the lines etc, I will more likely be going into the training centre to get educated on how each train runs and operates lol.

I appreciate all the help btw so keep your advice coming guys, I've had good advice from firas 2762 already :).

    The concept is simple:
The TSW3 disc gives you the routes I said above
If you buy the TSW2 disc as well, it gives you the routes I said above (plus more depending which version you buy)
    - By logging a ticket with DTG, you can get the TSW2 routes that come with your TSW2 disc, at no additional cost for TSW3
All other routes and locos are paid DLC, and you will not be able to try them in TSW3 for free. You will have to buy any and all additional content, there are no free add-ons for TSW3

    Specifically you mentioned:
Glasgow to Edinburgh - This is paid DLC
The East and West Midlands - presumably you mean Birmingham and Ambergate here, both are paid DLC
the South Eastern fast speed line - this will come with your TSW3 disc

I will just buy the Midlands mainline as a DLC because its only £30 and play that one over and over again because I like the look of that train, especially its orange brightness :). I will likely also buy the Birmingham cross city DLC too so it will be these 2 that I'll play most anyway so thanks for your recommendation matt#4801 :).

I probably won't play this game much anyway as during summer I'll be watching French Open and Wimbledon then after that Fifa 24 should be available.

Thanks again firas#2762 and FredElliott ;). Hopefully you don't think I'm mad for going for an add on haha.

You will get Southeastern Highspeed, with a bunch of trains.

And if you wish to try out Edinburgh - Glasgow or the two Midlands routes, you'll need to stick to TSW3.

However, I'd like to say welcome to TSW and the (sometimes hellish) forums.

I think East Midlands probably references Midland Mainline.

Bah, everybody knows East Midlands is a myth, Derby and Nottingham are just subsidiaries of mighty Yorkshire which is in THE NORTH

Loads of good suggestions already, so I won't weigh in with any more, but just wanted to say welcome to the community - there are loads of lovely people who are willing to help and guide anyone who needs it.

Thanks for the welcome guys, it's appreciated :).

Yep it's the Midlands Mainline and Birmingham Cross City route DLC I will purchase and use these more often as I like both trains and sounds :D.

I've been watching The YouTuber Train Sim TV, thats who I've been using as my go to guy to see what the routes are like and he said good things about both and seems to think £30 for each is reasonable and worth the money.

The good thing about both is there is a good number of services to try out on the timetable option and maybe 5 scenarios for both so I'll check these out ;).

Thanks again for your recommendation matt#4801

I certainly will :), I especially like the trains and I've heard good reports (from this forum incidentally) about the 158 on the Midlands mainline. I can't remember what the boy on YouTube said the Birmingham line was but I do remember liking the orange train and sound lol.

I have decided to get the Brighton mainline instead of Birmingham as it has an airport run :).

I have one question though, how do I get an outside view on the camera so I can get screenshots etc, the camera is set at "head out" but it's not doing anything :(, I am on PS4 btw lol.

Press R3 down to switch to the external camera, then while holding it down, press left or right on the D-pad to cycle between alternate cameras.

I did a Gatwick Airport run though I was 4mins late :o but I must say that I enjoyed the route and am very glad that I decided this dlc rather than the Birmingham one :).

I will probably spend a bit of time on this one rather than the East Midlands route tbh.

Thanks Ghostface1701 that worked though my question now is, how do I take a picture/screenshot and where will the picture be stored once taken, thanks again for your help guys, it's greatly appreciated :D.

Don't worry in real life on that line if you arrive within and hour of your scheduled time you are on time, even early in fact!
