Hi, I recently bought Sim World 3 Deluxe on ps5 via Playstation Store. I've been working my way through various 'lessons' but I'm unable to use some of the trains that are included in the deluxe version. If I select the trains affected, there are no lessons, no scenarios, unable to load the trains on any section, The trains that don't work are BR442 Talent 2DB, 766.2 DBpbzfa and BR146.2DB. Anybody with the same version on ps5 that has these working or anybopdy with same problem?
I don't think any of those trains are included with the Deluxe version. You get Schnellfahrstrecke Kassel Wurzburg, which comes with two ICE trains (401 and 403) and a freight locomotive (185). The trains you mentioned come with other DLC, which must be purchased separately. For example, Nahverkehr Dresden route comes with those three (and more).
If they are not included then would you know why they have always appeared in the trains list? I was wondering if the problem was related to the game size that they have done a addon manager which I also don't know where to get that from.
As stated above these trains can’t be driven in the included Kassel-Wurzburg route. A longer explanation is that these trains are from other route DLC and are included only as AI scenery trains running close to the featured track and in the stations. There are no player drivable services included for them in the timetable. Despite this they still appear in the menus which causes the confusion for players who have not previously bought other routes in TSW2 that do have playable services for those trains.
The trains the op mentioned are part of the route. However, other emus and units are from other routes.
I had the same issue when I first installed the deluxe pack. I had the same issue when I first installed the deluxe pack. To use them you have to purchase the the routes that they are with. The BR442 Talent and the BR146.2 come with the Rush Hour, Nahverkehr Dresden pack. Which I think is a good route and enjoying playing it.
I've not had any other Train Sim World versions so it's behavour is new to me, I needed a change from the sniping/racing games. I've been on the trains from Dresden down to Leipzig/Halle and to the airport. How do you find out which routes these loco's would be used on? The carriages that I was on were double deckers.
It was just an easier way to describe it to a new player. Although we know there are the same trains repeated in routes and the difference between an included train and a layer from another route a new player wouldn’t understand how those distinctions work yet, especially as they appear in the train menu as if they can be played. To drive them a player would need the other DLCs that also include them. It is very rare that a train that you can’t drive is included in a route as the AI trains in routes are usually layers that don’t appear unless you have the other routes, and those trains wouldn’t be in the menu.
I just find it strange that it's there in the learning centre train list but when you look around the training centre you don't find them. Another odd thing at the training centre is that as you're getting into a train, it shows you your progress with that train but not with all of them even though you have a progress 'score' for that train. I haven't seen the steam trains around the training centre. I've noticed that the points can be set wrong and it should derail but doesn't, I haven't looked if wrong point settings has been reported.
The wrong points derail is a setting in Hud and Gameplay. ‘Disable Junction Derail’. Set that to Off and it will derail. Personally I prefer it set to on. After doing a long freight run and missing one set of points in the yard at the end, it ended my run with 400 metres to go because Of one set of points. It’s a nice option for me.
The training center is only for the base routes. There's not enough space or memory to include all the trains in there. The only way to do it is through scenario planner and tutorials.
I leave disable Junction Derail off and never derailed on a set of points that were facing the wrong way. The train always forced them over. I thought Disable Junction Derail referred to the speed of the train on the junction (since I've only ever had derailments due to speed on junctions)
It’s not consistent. But in some cases it will definitely derail you. There was a thread about it a long time ago. Found it : https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...-derail-working-only-for-some-switches.18276/
I found the derail option as described, changed it to OFF and saved the settings using the Options button (PS5), went back into settings to check and it was OFF. Tested it and the train still didn't derail? Restarted the training module in case this had to be done from the start and it still didn't derail. I've read elsewhere that derailment has been disabled completely, lets leave it for this thread as it's digressing from my original question. Thanks to everybody for your help.
