Blue and white intercity MR2 both 1st and 2nd class but you can still plunk your bum down in the brake guard seat.Until fixed. But all MR1's crimson, red white, brown white seem to be accepting sitdowners.

Yep and it's ruining it for me. My preferred era is BR Blue and I spend most of my time in passenger mode so these past few months since this bug arised I've not been on TSW3 much, surely it cannot be hard to fix!

Not sure if this was reported yet, if it was please let me know and I will edit and remove the post.
I simply was trying to see how the route was and what needed to be done and before I knew it, I was coming to the end and I just finished it, not well but this what transpired at the end, as well as at the start.

Very pleased with the feedback from Jane-skyhook and really enjoying MML having just bought it on steam.
Just one quick question about the 158; is the slight milky cloudiness sometimes visible in the top half of the windscreen a real thing, ie is it there by design?

It’s on the 323 as well. It’s a really terrible low resolution reflection of the clouds (supposedly) in the window. It just looks so so poor ( and nothing like what it’s meant to represent) and needs removing from any and all units it’s been applied to. We can only hope Skyhook do just that.

Thanks for that. I also don't like the effect but was grudgingly content to put up with it if it was a case of matching the real thing.
I'm generally happy with MML apart from the above and the slightly deserted timetable.

When I watched the preview stream, that was the main thing my eyes were glued to – for the wrong reason.

To be honest, I switched off the preview stream fairly quickly, with the door control labelled or "wired up" wrong and such. I thought, dear lord.

At least things are looking up now!

It’s stuff like that that highlights the QA issues with this game. How did it ever get put in? Since when did a reflection ever present itself in a perfectly rectangular 2 inch high image on the inside of a window like this? Even the most cursory look at it and it screams ‘this is awful’, so how it stayed in is beyond me.

It’s almost like someone has said there must be a cloud reflection on the window and they’ve just done it even though it looks like a Commodore64 sprite. I don’t understand why it’s still in-situ on the 323 either, can’t see that getting removed anytime soon. Hopefully Skyhook will get rid of it in this patch.

ps It’s actually really noticeable just how low resolution the shadows are in this game, compared even to TSC. That takes me back to this whole thing of Ultra not being Ultra but that point has been made.

Certainly a relatively quick moneymaker would be a loco DLC using the good old Gronk, shunting in one of those unused industrial sites.

I'm very surprised there isn't more being done with these sort of sites. We got the aggregates loading in ECW and nothing much since. Seems to be loads of scope if devs want to timetable it

I just had a look at the map and seems that these lines are there. The balloon track at the power plant is showing as are other industrial areas.

They do, but you have to cycle the camera to external and back to driver.
It's a weird bug, but that's the get around for now.

Lines are there, DTG said adding new track in once a route is baked is incredibly complex, so they added the track now.
Scenery can be edited easily, so they can always go back and redo it for any scenarios that use these yards.

According to Jane, all that track was laid in order to "future proof" the route.

Watching this with interest now. Its the most local route to me in the game. Have not bought yet, but if this turns out as good as it looks, it may go in the basket...

    That's exactly what I'm doing.
I have a good feeling about this route and the interaction from Jane is just what this sim is needing.

    Hi Jane
On xbox series x there's a 1 or 2 second freeze when Ratcliffe power station pop's in to view. Probably a load thing but it's horrible. Many thanks.

heya, We spotted this and have optimised the power station assets to avoid this. Should be much improved, but is in testing now, so I will be able to confirm soon.

The black tower/dome looking object past Sileby heading towards barrow on soar pops in late, can that be checked as it slightly ruins immersion as it is quite close to the railway line.

I am going to keep putting the updates here as this thread seems to be getting more visibility.

In response to a forum request we are now building interiors of the guards area for the HST. No longer are the windows frosted out. This is work in progress (so please don't think this is finished), but I wanted to share some progress on rolling stock.

The player cannot enter this area, but we have responded to a number of requests for this part of the train to be modelled. Again, work in progress caveats apply please.

Yes I am aware of the numbering (this has been sorted and will be merged in soon) :)

Again, just early WIP but wanted to share some stock updates.

Amazing stuff! Now on to modelling the toilets too. I'm mostly joking of course, but I wouldn't complain if you were to do it :D

Is there a reason why it won't be player accessible? That "not a passenger door" looks like really fun to open.

Jane - I continue to be impressed by your responses to issues on MML and, in particular, your continuing and timely communication to this forum. I'm still enjoying the route as it is (particularly the HST), but when it's patched, it could become a absolute legend. Thank you again for your ongoing commitment and support.

Hi, it might be a bit late to mention but I wondered if anything could be done about the flowers that start growing magically as you drive along( sometimes in the ballast too). I just find my eyes been drawn towards watching them instead of the track ahead! More noticeable at slower speeds.( Xbox Series S)

The low-level foliage on all routes behaves like that. AFAIK it's an Unreal Engine trope which works better for viewing at human eye level and human-scale walking speeds than from a high, fast viewpoint.

Personally, I have disabled that behaviour using a config file tweak, and it looks much better - but I'm not sure you can do that on a console platform.

I've got all UK routes but never really noticed it before until Midland Main Line. It just seems very obvious and surreal.

Oh, that one's all but useless. It does prevent the grass issue but trashes a whole host of other things, including track ballast and distant scenery.

The Holy Grail would be to find one that has the same effect on the grass but doesn’t trash everything else.

It’s on all routes sadly but more noticeable on some than others. It’s pretty obvious on SEHS for example.

I must have subconsciously noticed it on other routes but on MML its very hard to ignore. I think I've got used to pop ins on other routes now as I just think' oh that cooling tower or viaduct etc' is going to appear now but these flowers actually sprouting from the ground and fully growing is strangely hypnotic. In my opinion. Looking forward to the update anyway I really like the route.

The bigger problem ( on PS4 at least ) is shadows suddenly appearing about 20 yards in front of the train. They seem particularly noticeable on this route, although they were there in TSW1. There seems to be no solution, other than playing in cloudy conditions.

Why is it not possible to couple a 158 to a 150?
Using the Doniford Watchet trick you can't couple them even with them having the same coupler.

Unfortunately the Class 150 uses a custom jumper cable setup that isn't compatible with the Class 158.

EDIT: It might also be that their couplers are treated as different by TSW (different coupler setup).
