I would really like to see more standalone locomotive dlcs, particularly on UK routes, in order to give us a larger stock library and to fill out the timetables. Some suggestions are... GWE Class 60 Class 165/1 Class 180 NTP Class 25 Class 123 and 124 formations Class 128 Class 141 DLoGW Class 22 Class 35 Class 42/43 Class 117/121 Class 123 Class 128 Blue Pullman sets TVL Class 56 Class 142 IoW Class 03 Class 05 Class 485/486 MML Class 180 Class 222 Class 66 variations Class 70 (diesel) Peak Forest Various green diesels Midland Blue Pullman sets There are multiple other types from other routes but I think that this is a good start. Share your thoughts.
They already struggle to add routes with new rolling stock so I doubt DTG has the time to make all these loco DLCs alongside. Ideally this is where we need more 3rd parties involved, those who can build new trains to fill in the gaps in existing routes.
I dont think a 180 would fit on MML sadly, EMT never got 180s, so you'd be having to do a bit to the route as well, in order to make it EMR post 2020
Birmingham Cross City Line Class 172 Class 196 Class 730 Freight Class 93 Bakerloo line Underground Battery electric locomotives New Tube for London SEH if applicable to do so Class 373 Class 374 using the base model of Hollandstrecke Duisburg Oberhausen Emmerich am Rhein Grenze Zevenaar Arnhem Utrecht Centraal DB Baureihe 408
What's the reason for it the New Tube for London on Bakerloo Line EDN I see this being Class 380 since they ran here when it was first electrified
Thank you for telling me about this since my thinking what's that they are due to enter in 2025 2 years from now on that route. Back to the topic TVL Class 58 Class 60 prototype Pacer 142-144
The NTfL isn't set to enter service until 2025 and the BKL, W&C and CTL lines come later on, so probably 2028/29 at earliest. Also, the 380 didn't run the EDN route alongside the 385, and it was never a permanent arrangement. also, the route is set in the present day.
For the modern classic routes a Class 56 seems the obvious choice, could layer in on several. Class 142 also really ought to come. Heritage DMU wise well a Class 104 would be top of my list for PFR, though a 108 would have wider application. And I dream of getting a Class 120 Cross Country in there some day. We need some classic electric stock for the Southern, too. CIGs, BIGs, CEPs, BEPs, VEPs, EPBs and HAPs.
Couldn't agree with you more. The Class 120,123 and 124 are superb dmus which we already have routes to run them on (if you allow DLoGW to be included). These cross country sets are very worthy of inclusion and I am surprised that nobody has created any of them either on TS Classic or TSW.
East Coastway BR 171 Turbostar Yes, I know it only goes as far as Eastbourne from Ashford International, but it did go all the way to Brighton in the recent past as a 2 car train. These trains on East Coastway called at Hastings, St Leonards Warrior Square, Bexhill, Eastbourne, Polegate, Lewes, and Brighton. If Dovetail Games would like to extend East Coastway from Eastbourne to Ore, then the BR 171 would have more usage.
That would be brilliant - an extension of ECW is worth it just for the scenery! Photos taken by me Additionally, having a Southern 171 could also mean some extra AI-only traffic at East Croydon with the London Commuter timetable to represent Uckfield services too.
73s on GX services (or any other GX types) and the Hastings Thumpers (or any of the DEMUs) would be great. Let's not forget the 5BEL Pullman sets which would be superb additions to London Commuter.
The reason why these haven't been done by anyone is probably due to the lack of interior/cab references as well as high quality audio files as all been scrapped. The same goes for Class 128.
It hasn't stopped DRS and their (his) interpretation is pretty good. Railcar dot co dot uk has many images on it and many of these DMU's exist in MSTS where there is also a pretty good AEC sound engine set. The 101 (default) in TSW sounds more like it was sampled from a Leyland re-engine of the class and at a push would do as an alias to any of the mechanical heritage DMU's (though a Class 120 has to somehow get that trademark rasping exhaust on pullaway).
Yeah the Class 120 maybe is doable by sourcing engine sounds from a 126 as they share the same engine (and cab). For anyone to do 123/124/128 they will have to record sounds from a 115, but cab pictures of these seem extremely rare, blurry & not depict the whole thing, not to mention the luxury first/buffet cars of 123/124. For a highly detailed simulator like TSW, chances for these units to appear nearly equal to zero. Sadly as these would really make NTP standing out. Afaik None of these are in DRS either. A 112/113 is possible though as they bear great resemblance to the 105.
Class 20/9 ( GBRf) Class 20 (headcode) Paxman valenta HST Class 66/7 Class 37/4 Colas Rail class 37 Flying banana hst Class 67 Class 50 Class 56 Class 57 Class 58 Class 73 Class 201 Class 489 Mk2 DBSO Class 91 Dvt (mk3/ mk4)
Audio is not a problem as these classes ALL use the same AEC or Leyland engines as almost all the other first generation dmu types, the only exceptions being the handful of Rolls Royce powered classes. Therefore the sounds can be taken from other dmus. As for interior reference, the Railcar website has many photos from factory fresh to later variations of almost all of the first generation dmus which should prove ample.
You do have a point there though, however the chances that any extinct classes get made seem extremely low, as many iconic modern stocks haven't even made their ways into either ts/tsw due to lack of reference material, such as CAF and Juniper units. I won't hold my breath on any of these "lesser known" first gen DMU to come though
Because they are extinct should make them more worthy of representation simply so that they can be experienced once again. CAF and Juniper units are still around to gather the required reference material and should be for a while.
You are correct and for Cathcart Circle Class 334 Juniper can fit there however you might be stuck with peak trips. For CAF Northern Rail Class 333 331 Electric Diesel 195. Wales 197 BCC 196.
