Except that this destroys my theory of a Pacer as both were long gone before the introduction in 1984/5.

I have a feeling the "exciting new train" included with the route might be a Class 121/122 bubble car. Something distinctive and fairly simple to build for their first route. They were also commonly seen on many rural routes during the time period the route is set. Either that or another diesel electric locomotive such as a Class 50. Probably reusing the 37, 47 or 101 as the second train.

I am still wondering on Edinburgh to Dundee, not sure what that would give us train wise though.

Well Dundee and Haymarket had plenty of class 101's. The class 40 and 47 would fit in. This is assuming there isn't a new train/

26s did not really work from Edinburgh to Dundee it was 101s then 27s.

With no one else claiming Preston to Blackpool as their project, I keep coming back to it as I have no other explanation for its leak.

They did on coal traffic. 47s and DMUs for the passenger or a 40 too would be prototypical as would a 150/2.

Also 26s worked on the Fife circle in on peak extras certain years. I could be wrong but the 26 mile comment caught my eye. Also just trains have already done this route in TSC so would have a lot of research. Its also an iconic route which the sim badly needs to boost its profile especially after a lack lustre Glasgow to Edinburgh. Forth Bridge is a big piece of eye candy....

26 is my guess as those numbers are mentioned maybe as a clue.....20 is the other one and the 101 as the dmu.

Unless it was/ is a red herring.

Or now we know about the Northern License, it could be a very early in planning route

I believe they might've got rid of the Preston to Blackpool route due to the leaks. As it might've been what just trains were making until the leaks causing them to change it.

There’s no way they would’ve gotten rid of the route due to leaks. First, the leak managed to stay pretty low-key, I guess maybe a few hundred people have any idea at most. Secondly, they wouldn’t be able to discard all the work (and financial investment) as a small developer. Thirdly, perhaps the leak wasn’t that bad as it gave the developers a nice insight into the community “vibe” on the route very early in development.

Fourthly, if Dovetail cancelled things because they were leaked we wouldn't have...

I suspect “26” is a red herring. The logical home for a Class 26 would be Inverness but none of the routes gives a logical end point at 46 miles. Unless of course it was something quirky like Aviemore to Dingwall. But for the Kyle Line you’d be ending at Achnasheen, Far North somewhere around Tain (a possibility I suppose) or going south maybe Kingussie. The 26’s weren’t that common on the Aberdeen line, it was either Cross Country DMU’s then Class 27 or even 47 loco hauled before Sprinters took over.

I think people are reading into it too much, it might just genuinely be that 26 miles of route have been done.

Maybe they've dropped a hit, or maybe they haven't.

Once the 37s took the Inverness work they came south a lot more and the 26/0s worked off Millerhill pretty much all their career until 1990. I'm intrigued by this dlc despite having TSW uninstalled and no other inclination to put it back. TSW badly needs some UK BR era stuff. The latest route to appeal to the Modern dynamic railway fans with the 323 I would have to be paid to have....

I would also wonder if the Kyle line is a longer term JT TSW route and they can start filling the stable with a smaller route.....

I must admit I hadn't read any clues into the figures 26 and 20, they had stated before they had laid about 40 miles of track so presumably that would be another hint! That would make a nice Scottish region route with a 20, 26 and 40 and certainly one set in the 70's I would have thought. But I am certain it won't be that.

I still think somehow it is Preston to Blackpool with maybe some extra track or something. It fits in with some of their developers experiences and TSC development too.

I suppose it could be something like Bolton to Blackpool, not inconceivable given Ambergate to Chinley.
As regards the 26’s I suppose at the outside it could be something Ayrshire coal field as the Class 20’s could be seen there too, but a little specialised for a first mainstream project.

They do state 26 miles of scenery done with 20 miles to go if you read it as printed.

How about Barnstaple to Exeter or Ipswich to Lowestoft? Either of those would fit with old BR dmu’s

  22. Routes I would love to see:

West Coast over Shap (same as TSC)
GEML London Ipswich with Ipswich included and Class 90/91 etc same as TSC

    New US "tri" route
South Elgin to Byron and Rockford

Maybe a few US ports too like the Donner Pass and the Western Pacific route with logging....

Wonder if there are any high speed US freight routes in Texas/Arkansas/Oklahoma region?

The Just Trains Route will not be a US route, it will be a UK Route.

Also, said UK route will not be an electric route, so WCML Over Shap and GEML are ruled out.

  25. But a US route will be announced in July.

  26. So Class 90s??

I hope it’s somewhere in Derbyshire. Derbyshire’s been poorly served in TSW3 ;)

We ain't beat Arbroath since they came up. Solid wee team, tbf.

(Certainly not the best part time team though, I hear the Rangers only turn up now and again :D)

Possible, although I would okagienbthe leak that suggests Preston - Blackpool may have reflected that.

    Then again, nothing's impossible.
(And yes, it would be an end-to-end service on both lines, most services terminating at Preston in the middle.)

Actually, that's not such a silly idea. I'm sure you know that Just Trains are developing a present day Buxton and Peak Forest extension to MML in TSC. Of course, it can only be the section from Buxton through Great Rocks, Peak Forest and Chinley. However, apart from Peak Forest station, nothing much has changed, asset wise, including the semaphore signalling. And, if set in the 1990s, the ICI bogie hoppers were still being used with class 20s and class 37s.

But, I'm dreaming, of course ...

It's not a dlc announcement. There isn't anything coming soon at the moment. They're still deciding but it doesn't feel like a dlc announcement

Just FYI - stream will not be an announcement. A lot of the team were out on Thursday/Friday at a company event, so we'll likely update RFTV schedule today.

Whatever it is I'll be buying it as it's a half decent length and a UK route. Bring it on. My personal preference would be for Wherry Line.

I think the summer release has to do with a route with the 700, most likely the MML, since it has the HST and would basically lack the 222...

Realistically, I guess we could be hoping for an initial route announcement with the next roadmap, and more infos in the weeks after, possibly for a release in late June?

Might be just me or am I praying it gets announced to some extent at the start of June in the roadmap or anytime before July. As I don't want the route to be canned or production halted for any reason.
