Something that I've noticed abut the current US steam locomotives available to us is that only one of them (the Southern Pacific GS-4) is actually streamlined. I propose that there be more North American locomotives from this era. The streamliner era lasted from the late 1930's, all the way up until the 50's. During this period, steam locomotives received casings around their boilers to give them a sleek, and fast appearance, as well as other visual upgrades. Although many of the popular engines form this era came from the UK, (mainly the A4's, and Princess Coronation Class locomotives) the North America had it's fair share of streamlined trains and locomotives as well. Some of the most famous include: The New York Central's 20th Century Limited The Empire State Express (Also NYC) The Reading Rairoad's Crusader The Grand Trunk Western/Canadian National's U-4-B Locomotives The Santa Fe's Blue Goose The Pennsylvania Railroad's Broadway Limited The Canadian Pacific's H-1-E Locomotives The Chicago Burlington & Quincy's Aeolus and finally, The Milwaukee Road's Hiawatha I really hope that atleast one of these locomotives get made, as I think that these would fit in very nicely to Train Simulator.
I definitely want the Blue Goose and a matching passenger consist. The engine would go great on Raton Pass. The Broadway Limited needs a PRR T1 Duplex or streamlined K4s Pacific. Some of the others would be really cool, but we need routes to run them.
The pictures in the original thread post exude such a "Me and the Bois" feel that it's nearly tangible. I LIKE it!!!!
