Well I enjoyed the route right out of the box so to speak as I was more interested in the rolling stock than the bridges, but I've got to say your company's attention to detail is amazing. I don't know the area but I should imagine those that do will be impressed. Mind you some of the moaners on steam will never be impressed by anything!
Well, yes and no. We don't know the circumstances surrounding the apparently premature release of MML. I think both developer and publisher have responsibility there. What we do know is that Skyhook are making strenuous efforts to bring this route up to scratch. If everything that they've promised in these pages comes to fruition, they will deserve huge credit and our gratitude. I'm willing to cut them the necessary slack. Let's wait and see what the pudding tastes like. How in heaven's name they can make any money from this dlc is another question altogether.
I think this is possibly the only forum in the world where most people would actually understand that reference
Hi Jane-Skyhook. I have just had a lovely run in my old Jubilee, passing some very interesting traffic. I was reminded that I hope you have impressed upon the team the importance of my earlier request for the provision of all the missing cows and sheep on the route. Then I am sure such runs as I had today would be truly blissful.
If you have this route i guess your stuck waiting for fixes for whatever still needed work. But if your like me and waiting for the fixes to buy this route well i guess were still waiting. But there's still such a unknow amount of work in progress with Fixes Updates Subtraction Additions Upgrades New Content and more. But all this work just takes time but do you really plan to try and get everything that needs done before releasing any updates? I said it before i'll say it again this route was not anywhere near ready for release if it's requiring this much time and effort to whip into shape. I want to drive the BR 158 but not until it's fixed but hoping this happens before 2024.
A 156 would be nice too. I think with this new timetable and a couple of new trains, the route will become one of the most immersive. Even more so if they extend it.
Hopefully they extend it to Sheffield at some point to make much more use out of it it should of gone to Sheffield anyway imo but I do like the route hopefully it will be even better after the update
Was this ever updated? I saw an update a month ago but someone claimed not all the fixes were uploaded. Did that get resolved?
No. There's only been 2 updates so far. Adam from skyhook who was with dtg commented saying the team is still hard at work. Some upcoming fixes are to crashing, tpws updates, etc
Didnt follow mml. After seeing the hst didnt even have the buckeye drawbar like the years old gwr hst, i stopped playing instantly. (To be fair the cl.158 is well made) So im confused, wasnt there a huuuge update with tons of points got adressed? Can somebody clarify, i really didnt follow the routes fixes after release.
Yep, but maybe they have a particular issue which wasn't addressed by that one, so they consider nothing fixed Welcome to the internet
Yes because the game crashing constantly is a very particular insignificant issue isn't it. And because there is such little issues with this DLC the devs decided to make a feedback thread which has thousands of responses?
I've not had a crash in over a year. Maybe I'm just lucky but again, you having issues doesn't mean no patches have been issued
I haven't had any crashes on Mml either, the only issue I'm experiencing is the random tpws activation bug. I'm on Xsx btw.
The first patch was far from barebones. It included a significant timetable upgrade and multiple other changes. There was then a second patch more recently which resolved a number of issues, albeit it didn’t solve all of the problems it intended to. I’ve never had a crash with this route, and my overall view is that the issues it now has are no more or less significant than those on any TSW route. All of them have some issues. I do recognise, though, that for those experiencing crashes it’s a different matter. I don’t have the IT knowledge to know why some players experience crashes and others don’t.
No offence but for someone who recently said that there time with Tsw is at an end, you seem to really like engaging with this forum still, which makes absolutely no sense.
ARuscoe, Yoinkermcskoinker Couple of things; - Although there appear to be virtually no crashes on PC, by all accounts the route crashes relentlessly on some consoles - Since release there have been 2 patches. After the first release not all of the promised fixes were included and Skyhook Games’ representative basically blamed DTG for the mistake. Missing elements aside, the patch did include a decent number of fixes & improvements. When the second patch finally came out the patch contents did not match the patch notes for the second time. It became apparent that DTG were not responsible for the first mistake at the same time. Since then Adam Lucas (ex-DTG Preservation Crew lead) has taken over communication and given an indication of what is in line to be fixed. Crashing on consoles is one of those things. HTH.
If your referring to the SHG representative that I believe you are, then said representative gave a very good reason for as you say 'disappearing' he was caring for his wife who was seriously ill in hospital.
Jane is off at the minute and tbf to him he has listened and improved MML yes it still needs more work so let's wait till he's back and see what more skyhook can do
Hang on a minute, you said and I quote 'it's clear that my time with tsw is at an end'. That is not the same as not actively buying content or playing as much as you used too.
It’s not about using the quote function, it’s about not twisting the meaning / sentiment of someone’s words by misquoting them. The words are similar but the meaning of the two sentences are very different. Also, people are allowed to change their mind too!
Excuse me but I ain't twisting anyone's words, I only repeated what he already said himself and yes I'm well aware that people are allowed to change they minds as it seems he may have done.
OK fine, maybe I shouldn't of called it a quote, but what I said does still more or less align with what he said. But anyway I've said my peace, I think I'll go back to actually playing and enjoying Tsw now, at least the game/sim itself isn't a breeding ground for toxicity (no I'm not accusing anyone specifically, I'm referring to certain threads in general).
Except you didn’t. You misquoted him, and in doing so changed the meaning of the statement entirely. You attributed a statement to him that he did not make which must be very close to the dictionary definition of twisting someone’s words! And of course you predictably go for the modern bail-out of calling people ‘toxic’ when they disagree or call you out on something. Yawn.
Absolving yourself of it by saying ‘what I said does still more or less align with what he said’ doesn’t change the fact that it wasn’t the same, and the two sentences had completely different meanings. It’s not only misquoted but totally out-of-context too.
Well im glad my platform is pc, so i can use at least the enhancement pack. So there were 2 updates, better than 0 after the history with skyhook . I hope to get a better polished experience with just trains products. Mostly all this pages in the mega thread is in my opinion about stuff should have been there clearly in the first place. I mean the cw44 rear bogie still look in the wrong direction. (Something which could have been adressed in a dtg update). The unhappy customers isnt just moaning, i see a mirror of a developer here which delivered unsatisfactory content to a very popular franchise. Understandable i dont want to see my favourite route/train botched, staying with the fact nobody will release a better version of this. Quality control is very important, in case of skyhook / rivet i can immagine many of the loyal tsw customers are careful with day1 purchaises. Im a little disappointed there were many releases of all devs, clearly rolled out in unfinished state and ended in huge threads. This really cant be the solution!, especially with such little freedome in scenario creation for players, i expect more in quality than was delivered this year.
Hadn't had a crash in TSW2 before that. Must be lucky as you say. Besides a few red light issues on BML I've had little pain
Just joined the discussion. Where are we on the collectibles that got broken in the update as the benches at Syston got replaced with static ones.
This route shouldn't of released at all if they knew on how broken and glitchy it was then why release it and tbh the BLM was a better DLC even with bugs then this.
