This route simply does not run for me. It might crash on load, I might get 2 minutes of gameplay, but before I get anywhere it crashes to desktop with an Unreal error message. Every. Single. Time. Code: Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x0000000000000018 (No, it's not a mod or an .ini tweak. It does it with a vanilla game. And it does it under DX11 as well as 12)
Hi solicitr , I've just tried a variety of things on the Island Line with no crashes. I can only suggest that you try troubleshooting the problem: Experiencing Technical Issues Guide
I have this exact same issue on PC (MS Store). Everything else works fine, except for this route. The route works fine on TSW3 on XSX, so I don't care enough about it to jump through the hoops they have on the page linked by Chris above.
Unfortunately, if we don't receive any troubleshooting/diagnostic data, we can only guess at what the problem may be. Reproducing an issue is an absolutely critical part of the bug fixing process, and if we don't have the necessary data to reproduce an issue, the investigation will not progress. Therefore, we would highly recommend that anyone who is experiencing technical issues, to get in touch. We would like to see any edge cases resolved and the more information you can provide, the better chance we have of fixing it.
I have just done a complete re-install of both Steam and TSW3 (moved from my old HDD to my SSD), run it with untouched DLC and .ini files, under both DX11 and DX12- and it's the same thing: "Address no 18". Although it seems now I can get it to run longer before it crashes; long enough to complete those 2 minute ECS moves.
Hi solicitr , So, we can help you, please submit a ticket, with the information requested in Step 12 of the Experiencing Technical Issues Guide. If you have skipped any of the steps in the guide, it is important to tell us.
My next suggestion would be the graphics drivers. Reset to default settings, revert to an older version if neccesary. Maybe turn off TSW in-game tweaks like anti-aliasing.
I've just purchased this route and am getting the exact same crash. It seems to be just before entering the Lake station.
