I've made a post on this before but with different and more route ideas. I have trimmed this route down to only include only Malmö as far as Hässleholm as it is a core mainline route in Southern Sweden. I travel around Southern Sweden quite often and I've just travelled back from there just a week ago so I'm very familiar with the route, so if I had to recommend any Swedish route outside of Stockholm or Göteborg. I would choose this route for passenger and freight services. I was going to mention the Öresundståg services towards Denmark but I think that would be a route on it's own working from Østerport/Köpenhamn H, Denmark to Helsingborg C (1hr 33 min) with the X31K/X32K EMU's. The route is Malmö C - Hässleholm via Hyllie. (I took this photo on the 19/08/20 and it's located just outside of Stehag) Route length Hässleholm C to Malmö C is 83.01 km (51.58 mi) Malmö C to Malmö C via Malmö Persborg is 22 km (13.67 mi) Services Here's an example of a Pågatågen service towards Kristianstad C (Tåg 1214) 1hr 27 min (16 stops) Malmö C 10:03 - Malmö Östervärn 10:06 - Malmö Rosengård 10:09 - Malmö Persborg 10:11 - Malmö Svågertorp 10:15 - Malmö Hyllie 10:22 - Malmö Triangeln 10:25 - Malmö C 10:31 - Lund C 10:45 - Stångby 10:49 - Örtofta 10:53 - Eslöv C 10:59 - Stehag 11:05 - Höör 11:11 - Tjörnarps 11:17 - Sösdala 11:21 - Hässleholm C 11:30 Here's an example of a Pågatågen service towards Malmö C (Tåg 1221) 25 min (7 stops) Malmö C 14:29 - Malmö Triangeln 14:32 - Malmö Hyllie 14:36 - Malmö Svågertorp 14:41 - Malmö Persborg 14:45 - Malmö Rosengård 14:47 - Malmö Östervärn 14:50 - Malmö C 14:54 Here's an example of a Pågatågen service towards Höör (Tåg 1274) 41 min (7 stops) Malmö C 14:52 - Hjärup 15:00 - Lund C 15:07 - Stångby 15:11 - Örtofta 15:15 - Eslöv 15:20 - Stehag 15:27 - Höör 15:33 Passenger units/locomotives Alstom Pågatågen X61 ASEA Pågatågen X11 (Ended service with Skånetrafiken in Sep 2013) ASEA SJ Rc6 Freight locomotives Green Cargo Re (185) Iconic to Sweden's railways are the Rc series. Most commonly for freight services are the Rc4's or the refurbished Rd2's. You will literally see these freight locomotives everywhere - and they do work some passenger services mainly for SJ, or sometimes on loan to Snälltåget when it works the boat train excursion to Germany. The main freight operator who uses the Rc's are Green Cargo. It would also be great for freight as around Malmö you have the Godsbangård so you can work freight services from there up north, or even start from Malmö Svågertorp as the service may have came from Germany/Denmark along the Øresundsbron (Öresund Bridge). (All photos and images apart from the X61 in the route map are not mine. I don't take any credit)
Going to buy this if made even better extended to Copenhagen because you have services from Copenhagen to the final destination of this route. Sweden 15kv 16 2/3hz Denmark DSB 25kv 50hz AC if the route were to be extended to Copenhagen with Voltage Change
Going to buy, exciting route, new country, different length services and so much potential for exciting rolling stock, plz DTG!
Would be nice to included Malmö-Trelleborg too as its just an 30 mins run single track with freight during the night mostly with Railpool 185's and Green cargo runs down that line too
Correct however there is a a Railway ferry on the Trelleborg side. Which means you must use a shunting locomotive to put trains onto the ferry which is bound to Rostock/Warnemünde from Trelleborg. Eisenbahnfähre (Train Ferry) Trelleborg-Rostock/Warnemünde shunting moves If This Were to be successful that would convince the developers to do the well-known Vogelfluglinie Puttgarden terminal which is the same as Trelleborg ferry terminal
Although there might be once issue as Trelleborg is Sweden second biggest harbor it might take sometime to make the entire yard
Helpful indeed and for Trelleborg it needs to be connected to a German route in this case S-Bahn Rostock Warnemünde because there are German trains operating to Trelleborg via ferry. Keep in mind Trelleborg overhead wires are 15kv 16 2/3hz not the 15kv 16.7hz we are used to playing with. 185.2 needs a Swedish 1.8m strip
