Yep, that's a destination board! Knew it!
    Is that a 146?

Also refreshing to know that freight will be included.

185's aren't used in passenger service.

It really looks like a DB BR 146 to me. The roof matches.

145's are also freight only locos, I think, so it's not that.

I think there's probably a hint to the route in the destination sign thing...

Will the displays now work in all Passenger routes?

The area around Rostock doesn't look that hilly, according to Google Earth... hmm... Dovetail, you didn't trick us, did you?!

Also, I think we'll have to be patient to see if destination displays work on other routes. No sense pestering DTG about it- we'll just have to see.

You have really good eyesight. I could only make out sch... something.

Another sign is the platforms. There are no platforms in RSN like that.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a railway station to Google.

The station looks like Heigenbrücken, which would mean Würzburg to Aschaffenburg, or perhaps Gemünden to Aschaffenburg.

DTG Definitely need to patch the destination boards into GWE, a lot of people will be very disappointed if they don't.

If my searching is right, that would be only 43 or so kilometers, which would be quite short.
I think it's going to be the Main-Spessart rail running from Aschaffenburg to Würzburg.

Either the main-spessart or possibly (but less likely) the Rhine-main railway.

I guess the challenge now is to figure out what station this is with the curved platform like that...

I think it's Heigenbrucken because of the hills.

Maybe Aschaffenburg to Würzburg? That would be a route of about 80 km.

The route shown in the image does look quite mountainous which would indicate the route to Wurzburg instead of Frankfurt as the Frankfurt route is more urban than rural. Definitely looks to be the DB BR 146, which operates the RE 54 and RE 55 services from Frankfurt to Wurzburg via Aschaffenburg. The ICE 41 also operates along this route, so maybe the ICE 3 could also be included? The freight wagons also confirm that there will be a freight locomotive which could be a recycled 185 or 143 from Ruhr Sieg Nord, or perhaps the 182 shown in the tweets from last year. It is good to see that Dovetail Games are creating routes which haven't previously been featured in TS1, this being the third route in a row not to be previously featured and the choice of route looks to be very good.

Wow, nice! I was starting to suspect this, but I wasn't sure. You're totally right- it has to be Heigenbrucken.

This also means that, like RSN, this route will be a few years in the past, since the route has been replaced with a bunch of high speed tunnels.

I bet 1€ that will be a feature exclusive to the new route because "too much work is required to update existing content bla bla bla" :D

Really hoping to lose my bet though...

I really hope the PIS isn’t exclusive just to this route. Though I can almost see it being that way unfortunately.

Something along the lines of ‘A PIS implementation for older DLC would require a full re-work of the route.’

So sounds like RT all over again with the signalling not being able to be fixed.

I want to be proved wrong but I’ve not got a good feeling about it. Especially looking at how past DLC’s have been dealt with.

Looks eerily similar to RSN, all the stuff kinda looks samey. Hoping for some older locos/freight

Anyone able to decipher the freightcars next to the commuter? Local serial numbers or somthing on that car bottom right screen

I hope you're wrong too, lol. I think I remember them them actually saying this would be in all prior routes at some point, but I don't remember where, and knowing DTG... I wouldn't even take my own word for it. You're probably right.

Glad I'm not the only one... while RSN was great, we don't need to buy it twice! Hopefully it'll be different enough...

Oh, and does this help any?
    Hmmm-brighter.jpg
(They appear to be Shimmins-U wagons, already included in RSN.)

I heard the Dostos might not be exactly the same. I think it’s a different generation.
