Hi, I have a favor to ask. I'm learning to drive steam locomotives and the Quick Drive feature is excellent for this purpose as you can create your own train (passenger, freight, light, heavy). Unfortunately, creating a custom train doesn't work - every time I try to load the content I get the message "Out of memory" (about 20-30% loaded content). Sure, I can use other software to create a custom train, but Quick drive scenarios won't get it - I have to use a built-in function in TSC, and unfortunately it doesn't work. I would like to ask DTG to fix this thing, as it prevents full use of TSC. Thank you.
You can use consists created in RWEnhancer2 in QD, as for the in-game consist creator crashing, it does for 99% of us, and has done for a long while, way before the update. Just letting you know there is third party software out there that does work.
Thanks a lot for the reply, Reef. I have purchased the software and it seems to work. However this bug should have been fixed.
The problem with this "bug" is the third party trains. If you add a repaint/reskin and you try placing it on the track and it does not work then that's unfortunate. But if you don't fix it and leave the broken repaint on your system then try the consist builder it will cause it to crash. The way to get the Consist builder to work is make sure anything you add works on the track.
Sorry, but that's no excuse. If another manufacturer's software can handle it, TSC has to handle it too. But maybe we don't understand each other, the problem arises the moment the consist editor loads consists and locos and waggons, so it doesn't open at all. It's badly programmed.
How do you mean "another manufacturer's software"? If you did not have any third party add-ons it works without problem. And it will work with most other makes of DLC. It is when you get a repaint of a website - if that does not work when you try it in the game it will also crash the consist builder
RWENHANCER2 Peter. I brought it into the conversation literally 4 posts prior to yours, do you not keep track of the threads or do you just react to the last post? That's a pretty short attention span if so.
I had not noticed the post. Simple as that. What happens if RW Enhancer finds a defective repaint - does it flag it, ignore it or let you use it?
