I mean, Rivet are bothered, they are just nowhere near as vocal.
Rivet, in fact, have a patch in the works for E-G and I believe WCL, it's been bouncing back between Rivet and DTG for a little while, according to JD.

So, you know, just because they don't post daily about it, doesn't mean they don't care.

Bravo2six. That’s good to hear. Lets hope that the awful Cornish scenery is corrected and improved and the 150/2 is better.

Appreciate your response, meridian#2659, as well. WCL was released on 4th Nov 2021 in an awful state and it has, so far taken over 18 months and ongoing to improve it!!!

heya, with being new to Skyhook I will be honest with you and say I have not had that conversation. Once the dust settles on MML, I will certainly be talking to all concerned about the existing portfolio.

lets try and keep this thread about MML please, rather than commenting on other developers. For the record incidentally, we have good relations with Tim and his team at Rivet and they ARE working very hard on a pile of stuff.

I can safely say Skyhook has learnt a great deal about TSW3 during the development of MML. There has been numerous takeaways and learnings for future products. I am not going to pretend that there were not mistakes, but these have been offset now by an enormous amount of new knowledge learnt across the team.

Keep up the good work Jane. It sounds like your team are doing an amazing job and I really look forward to the finished product release. Also thank you for confirming Rivet too are working hard to improve their products, that’s good to know. Brilliant news!!!

In my opinion it would be a good idea for Jane to get an invitation to the next road map stream to show all the hard work you guys have put in with the first patch for MML.

Any news when the patch is coming?, my finger is on the trigger to buy MML, but I'd rather hold out till the patch.

This is a great suggestion! Given the patch comes between the upcoming and the next road map and not later ;-)

(I think it's cool to have a segment with developers talking about the updates they worked on, some small stories about resolving an nagging issue [without beeing too technical for those not interested in such details], more like that; I always remember the "Professor Matt"-parts best)

Agreed this wasn't the thread to mention it on, but knowing Rivet are committed meant (in my opinion) a corrective response was justified.

Can't wait for the MML patch!
    Great work Jane and Team!

    This is a great idea.
It would be interesting to see how the sales figures increase after all this integration between developer and end user.
MML is definitely my next DLC purchase as soon as the update hits.

Andy and Jane, I just ran this service and the only station I had an issue with was Syston and I noticed that I was 2 yards past the stop mark. Closed the doors and backed up to the other side of the mark and when I reopened the doors it recognized my stop.

I wonder if anyone has played MML without it peeing down with rain or lightning storms? It seems as though that weather is all I get, if realistic I really feel sorry for those living in the East Midlands area.

That happens on nearly every route I play in timetable mode with dynamic weather.

This is why I don't play with dynamic weather.

I’m using dynamic weather on mml and had a bit of rain but more often than not it’s dry but gets very foggy/misty as you get into the run.

Dynamic weather is really not very dynamic. It very clearly follows a consistent pattern. And it’s totally unrealistic how it changes.

Dynamic weather is just delayed foggy weather for me no matter what route from Germany or the UK I play.
Most of the time I turn it off because of it.

This feature was added by request of the community, many asked in the forums if tsw is capable of changing the weather without going back to menu.

That’s not entirely true. People asked for changeable weather, what they got was a predictable mess that even DTG no longer use on streams because they know it doesn’t work as intended. Have they even tried to fix it? Have they heck.

I do hope the patch comes out by this weekend so I can spend a bit of it with MML's new timetable. Thank you jane-skyhook and the team for your continued efforts to give us an improved product.

I start in bright sunny hot weather? Boom Fog
I start in blizzard? Boom Fog
I start in thunder and lightning? Boom Fog

No matter what weather I start of with in Dynamic weather now I just end up with thick fog several minutes later.

There's only 2 days left of this week. Updates usually happen on a Tuesday and Thursday so it's definitely not going to be today since it's way too soon.

Thank you so much, will pass your comments on to the team. Just as soon as I hear a release date for the patch I will let you guys know. It is out of my hands now as dev have signed off, but will still update you.

just to confirm, we are putting together some images with new features, updates etc. I will get them to you all shortly and appreciate all the feedback.

Again the patch has "left the building" with dev and is now with publishing, so we should have some release news soon once I hear back from the relevant teams.

It has been a labour of love, so hope you guys enjoy the new version of MML when it reaches your machines! Thank you for your patience and support. The team really appreciate it.

With the effort that's gone/going into making good this route, I'm very interested to see what additional DLC might be brought to it in the future. With the best will in the world, Skyhook (as any small business) would find it tough to invest so much more time into an already-released route (even in the name of reputation-saving), so I'm hoping this all means a bright future for expansion. Looking forward to the patch.

For me, joining Skyhook just as MML was prepping to ship, the thing for me was making this route as good as it can be. Many of you here seem to know me and my work. I have a reputation for perfectionism (I am sure I annoy people with it!), be it Alien Vs Predator, The Sims or Flight Simulator etc. I want things to be the best they can be and to create a great team environment to do that. I really care and have over 40 years in this job as a hardcore perfectionist :) There is still further work to do on MML as I have said, with more patches to follow but we have seen a huge upgrade in this patch to so many issues.

It is as much as being anal with quality as commercial or reputational. We just want something special for you guys. Obviously getting a great reputation with our customers delights me too!

The bottom line for me though is all about quality and everything else falls in to place if you have that. You are also quite right about commercial realism Phil, suffice to say hopefully we are a long way from seeing the end of MML content also.

    all the best
    Jane

Well, I hope the increased sales for the " new version " make it less of a " labor of love. "

My finger is on the buy button the moment the update hits the Steam store.

As mentioned we have passed the patch build from dev to publishing. There is always a final check to make sure nothing has broken, borked or turned in to a load of old bollards in the final build process. As of typing this, all good so far, but please everyone touch wooden surfaces, cross your fingers and toes... so I don't tempt fate!

I think for me I am hoping that its a lot more stable than it is at the moment. Currently the random crashes are doing my head in. Looking forward to see the extra traffic. Also hoping we can make it to Toton at some point?
Overall it sounds as though they have done a good job.

Ah yes minor issues there. Crazy me that though a light that is in my face 100% of the time shouldn't be lit at random and be more in tandem with what the doors are doing, minor stuff, me and my crazy expectations.
I love how you say you have "a reputation for perfectionism"...

Lets be real though, they are minor issues.
The DLC works and there is nothing really that prevents gameplay.
So yeah, I would argue anything after that is minor.

If it's 'immersion breaking' or unrealistic... it's still minor over the fact it works.

I've stated my issues with the dlc on its steam store page.
Excuse me for not like being mocked and expecting to get a sim product when I pay for one.

Had the entire map no foliage that wouldn't prevent gameplay either. A straight piece of track with the loco from the Christmas map would aslo provide gameplay. I know the one issue I mentioned isn't a big one -especially in comparison with others in MML- but this is why I felt the need to say something:
I came here to read some news filled with excitement, as I usually do, especially now that we are near the June Roadmap and I'm guessing the MML update, and again I'm terribly sorry, but it really saddened me to read that small issues like that won't be fixed (probably for another month or so) because, admittedly, they are minor in comparison with the deserted timetable for example. I'd imagine though that since they are indeed small, a fix for them would have been simple.

So you're saying that you don't appreciate any of the work skyhook have done and that all their efforts were for nothing? They have worked hard and endless hours to even create patch 1 in the first place. That alone is about 180 fixes, improvements and new additions. Be happy you even got an update.

To be fair, though, Jane is saying they haven't made major improvements to the lighting (in this patch). Jane isn't saying the issue you see is a minor thing that you shouldn't be bothered by.

At least, that's how I read it.
