On the matter - Woodhead cab ride 1965

 

I love these videos. It's fascinating to see the stretch from Guide Bridge to Manchester as it was before I was born. I remember the 1500DC line. It was closed when I was 2 years old, but I remember the freight trains well. I had relatives in Glossop and Dinting, so the 76s and the 506 units are treasured memories for me.

 

If you search for "British Transport Films" on Youtube, there's a lot of interesting stuff to view.
