Told you there would be a new one any minute now. Nothing new here. EDIT: actually, the headlight's slightly different, isn't it?
Brightening it shows the "Aschaffenburg Hbf" clearer and reveals a mystery freight car. Not sure if it's the same one from yesterday.
Hi there... I feel like disillusioning now So staring at the pixels for a bit too long: We can see through the edit that was made to dim the dots. We even see a minor fail on the 'C' in Aschaffenburg. Bumping the green curve and making the contrast ridiculous we can get an idea of what the display was like before the edit: Aschaffenburg, in all it's glory. Staring at the pixels for too long will actually let one spot the pixels which have been manipulated, and those which have not. Tracing the border of the manipulated pixels around the 'h' manually gives: One beautiful 'h'. I must say I am very pleased with how it looks and can confirm that it is VERY true-to-life. Although most dostos have orange displays, such green dot displays are VERY commonly used in DB. I am very much looking forward to the release Cheers! Prof EDIT: Very pleased at how much I learned from Captain Disillusion Hahah!
Power of Gimp, eh? :P Wonderful, most impressive work! Those letters seem malformed though. I was about to complain about the "R" not being correctly made, but thought Meh could be the bleedoff from other pixels. The RB Aschaffenburg bolded letters seem incorrect. I would like to use the opporunity to remind DTG to check the looks of the letters. The bolded ones look incorrect to me. I could be wrong, Tomas9970 could have made mistakes, but rather check then release something wrong. Cheers, Prof
i made some mistakes.I found that the top lane on letter e is shifted to the right, a missing dot on the bottom of letter s and a missing dot in letter b. I'm confident about letters R and n. I based it on your "green image" and that might also not highlight everything properly.
I wonder what the next hint will be, although we already know a lot... I love reading those "guessing" hints here, cool to see people put their effort in revealing what it might be. I just play this game for a month, but I have almost all DLC and I am very hyped for the next one. sorry this comment is a bit off-topic bit I just wanted to share this.
Chasing mistakes I have come to the conclusion that you did a fanstastic job. Only a few minimal mistakes, which were really hard to notice. Although your intuition is confirmed. The "R" and "n" are completely correct. Red dots you forgot, blue dots aren't supposed to be there. Still, this is amazingly well done. So I think it's up to DTG to check the "R" and "n". Cheers, Prof We've been staring at pixels for too long! Haha!
The real dosto-matrix fonts are still very different. First off you mention the 'B', that actually needs sharp corners. Additionally to this, the height of small letters need to match with the sticking-out parts of higher uncapitalized letters, whatever they are called. There is also only one pixel of separation between letters normally when text has such length. Those are only fine details though, and I am sure it will work just fine as is
Yeah, I like it too to see what you guys are thinking about the hints and it’s fun to solve the riddles! Every step we take is very exciting and I’m really looking forward to the next hint! Thank you all!
Agreed completely, it's fun trying to squeeze as much information as possible out of these pictures.Pretty sure DTG didn't expect us to figure the route out by day 2, lol. Although if they're gonna keep this up until the 21st, they might run out of things to hint at... I don't know if it will last that long, even if it's weekdays only. Though if they were gonna announce it sooner, I feel like they would have given a more revealing hint... this one just helps us nitpick the PIS. I was expecting some hint of the rolling stock or at least more details to figure out where the picture is, but they're holding back on that, it seems.
I would not get the hope up for a functioning PIS.. Maybe a train wide destination board controlled from the cabs, but i doubt anything more until proven otherwise.
No but I believe a member of DTG said that they were doing them for GWE because it would be a pity leaving them blank as for the other routes, I dont know.
Yea, like on most other routes. But they don't work.. And i highly doubt the ones on the new route will.
Of course they don't work. Neither do the signs on the sides of trains. That's what we would be getting. But, TBH, either way is an improvement, and if we only get the signs on trains, that doesn't mean we might not later get the rest. If anything, it's a sign that we will. The real question is whether we'll get anything at all for other routes, or if it will only apply to newer routes.
When was this said and who said it? Because the PIS was originally planned to be released with GWE. Not heard anything since.
I like the hints although not to seem like a complete wet rag, i hope theyre leaving juicier stuff out intentionally. This looks so similar, even if another route, the same locos cab cars etc. Sure they may be variations but its basically looking like the whole " walks like a duck - quacks like a duck " thing Show me the goods Dimitri!
This is similar to Schnauzahpowahz's post above, throwing in my thoughts I would consider destination boards, especially digital ones, a form of PIS, even if it's not fully built out. My belief here is that the past two German routes, RT and RSN both had unique new features (like all previous DLC). RT was the first electric route with all-electric equipment, and RSN featured the first multi-level passenger content, with use of stairs and such on a moving piece of content. These to me are selling points, unique features no other route to date had. Some might question it, but it's unique to those routes at the time of release. Another German route with similar passenger cars, just a different location will sell a little, but only to those really interested. If it was something like an ICE with 250-320kph speeds, it would be something totally new and I'm sure be attractive to a larger base of users. But for what's shown so far, for most of us, we probably will be like cool, but I'll wait for a sale if that if there isn't a really new feature that adds depth to the simulation. That's why I think there might be something to really look forward to here. The implementation of a PIS will really help sell the route, and it's why I believe at the least we will see destination boards (known), but I wouldn't be surprised to see anything beyond that. Adding that feature (and if this is the case, I believe it will be only for this route and not for previous routes to help sales), makes this DLC more desirable to some if pulled off right, and will make the route more profitable.
I don't think that there are seven more hints, but this si surely not the last one. I hope that the next hint will come with some fresh stuff to break down.
This route is a first mountain pass in Train sim world. There are also about 25 kilometers of high speed track with LZB so there are selling points related to the route and not the trains.
I would be so happy if there would be a ICE, because in this place (Aschaffenburg-Würzburg) the ICE, the DB Regio and freight trains are the most viewed trains there. For the stations, I would love to hear announcements. Is there going to be a new hint today?
Yes, that could be done by DTG. however, new loco's won't be a problem as well. We will just wait and see, but the BR 143 is a great one so we can expect it.
In general... yes different trains are great! you dontd feel like you drive the same loco over and over again, although with the BR 143... (sorry the 143 is my favorite). Regarding liveries, I'd like to have different liveries for sure, especially on loco's that have different in real life. Such as the 143. or Shunting loco's with different versions of liveries. just like CSX has with the yn2, yn3 and yn3b or something like that.
I really appreciate Dmitri bringing the community together like that, it's really nice to see everyone engaging in conversations.
I'd suggest it's more to do with the fact that the community asked that DTG bring back teasers, and for once DTG (mostly likely Dmitri) actually listened and took action, which is all anyone has ever wanted. If DTG can listen and take action regarding the bugs and missing features in the game then people will praise them for it, not just vocally, but with their wallets. I really hope that the positive response DTG has received for just this small gesture will be acknowleged by the management, and going forward things will continue to improve.
Um... I would like to point out that they never really stopped doing teasers. Yes, they did skip NTP, but the media team thing was kinda busy promoting sales and stuff, so they could have just temporarily skipped a route.
