Please Help, Ive Lost All Progress

    I had to temporarily uninstall TSW3 after i had a glitch, when i reinstalled the game i signed in but i was told to choose a character. I still have all my DLCS but i have lost hundreds of hours of progress, and many liveries i have spent many hours on, please can someone help with this

    You have my sympathy -- what a disaster! I won't claim any expertise about this, but when you reinstalled did you choose the same avatar as you had before? If not, you might try deleting TSW3 again and reinstalling again (long processes, but perhaps helpful) using your original avatar.

    Hope you get this fixed soon!

    Hey there :) Sorry to hear you've lost all your progress.
    Can I just ask what system you're using (PC or console) and if you're logged into your DTL account?
    All your mastery should be saved there. Actual in-game progress is saved locally though. Does the system you're using support cloud saves? Steam usually saves backups online, those can be restored.

    Please also make sure to raise a support ticket, we'll be taking a look at it, unfortunately this will most likely happen after the weekend though.

    Hi, Im using PC, and i have logged into my DTL account. Im not sure how to find steam backups though

    Also how do i open a support ticket?

    You can find how to restore cloud saves here in this link. It's at the bottom of the page under "Restoring from Backup Files".

    You can create a support ticket here, make sure to login with your DTL account, then press the +New Support Ticket icon to submit a new ticket.

    Hi, Unfortunately my steam backup hasn't worked, it says that there is not backup for the game. Will i be able to recover my lost data?

    If you local data is gone and there's no cloud save I'm afraid there's not much that can be done.

    One final idea I have is to try a windows backup, how to do so is explained here, but be mindful that this will restore your entire PC to an older date, any data between the restore point and now will be lost. Make sure to backup any data you don't want to lose before doing so.
    This also only works if a restore point has been created. Windows usually does so automatically at some point, but I'm not sure if that's a setting you need to activate first.
    I'm no computer expert, so I'm mostly guessing here, as I said before, make sure to create a support ticket so people who know more than me can help you.

    Restore points are not created by default by Windows, so unless the user has enabled them previously or made one manually then there will be nothing to restore to. I don't know why it's not enabled by default; it's saved me multiple times (including from times my computer has bricked itself). However it wouldn't help anyway as system restore does not affect any user folders, and since Documents is one of these it won't bring it back. If save data was stored in TSW3's install location then it might work.

    Steam Cloud saves need to be implemented by the developer.
    TSW is not an Steam Cloud enabled game. You need to make your own backups.

    Enabling this feature has been discussed on the forum for several years. It usually comes up when someone loses their profile data. But nothing happens.

    We should all be enabling local/cloud backups, even if DTG enables Steam cloud saves.
