Another poll just to get some thoughts! Personally I prefer the current blue scheme, I know not everyone does though
The nice soft TSW2 one that didn't burn my eyes. And wasn't topsy turvy in how it highlights the selected option.
I much prefer the new UI, with two caveats: 1) The highlight color needs to be anything other than gray (By universal convention "grayed out" means unavailable) 2) the weather-selection screen really, really, really needs to actually show the weather
When the UI was changed for TSW2 with the release of Rush Hour, it was a downgrade on nearly every single level, with the change from blue to orange being just a minor downgrade. While I am an enjoyer of orange, blue is typically more visually appealing for regular use. The return to blue for TSW3 is very cool and good.
Yes, I agree, but, for what it's worth, I think that the highlight color should be more of a puce or cerise rather than gray. Of course carmine and vermilion are rather attractive too. This is such a vexing problem, but one that certainly needs addressing asap.
At first the grey was confusing but after using it a couple of times I have got used of it now and have no issue with it.
Blues and whites always hurt my eyes, I really miss sodium lamps at night, the LED ones are so uncomfortable. Vastly prefer the colour scheme I get in TSW2, but TSW3 desperately needs to stop going against the universally understood convention of something being greyed out meaning it is unselected, rather than selected. TSW3 is, to my knowledge, the ONLY game that goes against this industry standard.
Agree with that. I don't know who at DTG decided to reinstate them, but he or she was seriously misguided.
I´m tempted to open a poll about polls: "Do Polls Make Any Sense In This Forum? Option 1: "No" Option 2: "Hell, no"
Still, TSW3 color scheme, in parts, looks like made by toddlers in Windows 3.11 Paintbrush. And greyed out valid fields are a complete nogo - maybe it was developed for our diatonic TSW fans - yet, those GUI neon colors don´t transpire professionalism to me. But the most annoying: How, for the love of the Lord, does one get rid of these awful lemon yellow "New" tags on top of the route pictures???
If you're on console, you don't. Ever. And neither do DTG, apparently, since they refuse to even acknowledge the issue every time we bring it up.
Oh, yes. It's so horrible on console. Half the time, you don't know what you have selected until you've either moved about enough to see the movement or have spotted the slightly different shade of grey. Well, they did acknowledge it at least once on stream and mentioned the reason for it. Turns out, no one considered how consoles work when they implemented the "new-tag".
Ah, I missed that stream. Couldn't they just like, toggle it off indefinitely for consoles until they have a workable system for it?
One would think so. From what I recall, Matt said that it should disappear an hour or so after playing with it installed. The problem is that the game only counts the time between starting the game and shutting it down. Apparently, you can “shut down” a game on PC whereas consoles just “terminate” it or something like that. Matt said that he would talk to the team and see what can be done. Make of that what you will
The logical approach is to just in the meantime wholly disable the "New" flag on the console version, shouldn't be more than a single line that needs changing.
Or just disable it altogether as it does not serve a useful purpose (unless it does something I'm not aware of).
Prefer the new colour scheme and UI, the old version was dark, dingy, dull and kind of a mess compared to what we have now in my opinion.
It appears people aren’t too happy about the poll (which, not in a rude way, you don’t have to touch) but I’m just curious-surely it’s not the end of the world
