I played the Kentish Crompton part 1 serve, which I like a lot, so I thought to go to Sittingbourne for some railfanning. Arriving at 07:20 at the same day I played the Kentish Crompton, I expected the train at 07:25, but it was not there and also not visible in the 2D map. Clearly a bug, maybe not so easy to see, but why is this happening? No idea.
It’s a seasonal service so only runs in certain months of the year…. No idea which ones but, in short, you can drive it any time you want but you won’t see it as a 3rd person unless it’s the right season…. Same applies for Xmas steam services
I know, but I tried to watch it at the date I played it. It may be a bug. Today is June 25th and I could select the Crompton. When I selected the same date and spawned of foot, nothing to be seen. So they may show a wrong date or they ignore the dat when you play the service selecting the loco. It may be this issue, but definitely is an issue in the logic. Also it would make sense to shown which time of the year the service is available.
When you choose to drive it you can pick anyday even Christmas day. But if you spawn on foot it won't appear unless it's a month the game is timetabled to appear. It's seasonal.
That's what I suspect, but still it is not working as it should work. I would at least like to get proper information, but even better it should pick a date the service is running as AI as well.
I spawned on foot at Rochester at 07:00 12 times to determine the months of the Class 33 Rail Tour. The Kentish Crompton Part 1 showed up for me in March, April, and May.
