And you can guarantee that at this rate when TSW18 is eventually released, I'll be sat dribbling in whatever care home, contemplating why in this new version the rain effects are still LOVE, why no new UK diesels have still not been released since 2020, and why Vern still hasn't got his mk1 buffet hehe.
Whatever it is I am quite looking forward to it and no not from an Ambassador point of view either from a pure gameplay point of view. I'm hoping for news on Livery Designer 2 as well as Scenario designer.2 in this summer update but who knows. But like most of you, not even I know what coming in the next few months short of what has already been mentioned on the road map. Hentis
Well please regale me with the FB Group name then as far as I am aware I haven't been banned from any.
I love the way Microsoft announced their new Flight Sim software around a year before it comes out but with DTG we are lucky if we get an announcement a month before!
Im an admin of a number of TSW groups and in all honesty I cant recall, although I do know it was only a temp ban and you'd be welcome back in any that I admin, as like I said at the time to you I enjoy your content.
For there announcement stream it's probably gonna be 24 hour one but very special instead being in a test track it's gonna be in a backyard with the camera pointing to southeastern high-speed how very new and very big this announcement is gonna be. Lol.
Ambassadors are under NDA which means they can't discuss anything about content that has not been released otherwise there would be legal consequences
honestly I cannot recall ever getting banned from any TSW group. Got banned from a Somerset & Dorset Group as the owner was was crazier than an outhouse rat in thinking he could compulsory purchase all the properties that have been built along the S&D route and relay the entire route. i said a few choice words to that guy as he was a complete nut job. And thanks. Hentis
I don’t know if the leak is true or not, but the chances of DTG releasing a bundle in September are quite high. Just look at the pattern: TSW 2: Summer 2020 release Rush hour bundle: Summer 2021 release TSW 3: Summer 2022 release The pattern shows that DTG should release TSW 4 (or a themed bundle like Rush hour) this September, and nothing being announced yet doesn’t mean anything. TSW 3 released early September and wasn’t officially announced until mid-August. Also, there are signs DTG is working on something behind the scenes since the roadmap is devoid of any new DTG routes.
My view is I wouldnt object to TSW4 along the same lines as TSW3 this year (or next) and as long as atleast 2 out 3 routes appeals to me it'll be a day 1 purchase, but if I dont feel that the base routes are worth full price (for me, YMMV) then I can wait until there's a discount and/or bundle I do want. Either way it wont be a cash grab and these bundles always offer value for money compared to standalone DLC.
If there's a new game, they might as well call it TSW '23. If it works for EA and 2K, it could work for DTG as well.
And yes true they should call it TSW 24 because games what they do is call it a year after like FIFA 23 came out in 2022
I’m glad we have the 700 coming out next week as that should keep me busy until then. Wish the NYT time table was out but that must likely will be get released a month after TSW4. Just like bakerloo and Hamburg last year
Microsoft doesn't worry about the competition. It also has more legal power than many nations. Also supplies a large amount of the world computer OS.
Would love to see Clinchfield get a 2nd chance, plus extend the line to the interchange with the NW at St Paul with revamps to the route.
I think we will get far eastern version of rush hour and a core update i.e. improved scenario planner/cosist editor. There may be an alt pacage with 3 routes from US, UK and GR
I don't really care what it is (tsw4 or a yearly update) my only wish, when it is tsw 4 I just hope I get al my add-ons day one. Because we known how that went on playstation for tsw3. And secretly I hope for a route thats not the core 3. And just actually use the word WORLD.
When they released a whole year's worth of content on the first roadmap, everyone freaked out over the "delay" on things like the 313, which just happened to be the last thing on the huge list of things they were planning.
Will URE 5 ever come out for TSW I mean a lot of older games are getting updates for URE 5 Fernbus Fortnite I know that they are different games but the point what I'm trying to make is that by the time TSW get URE 5, URE 6 will be out.
They already confirmed in a different thread (or this one, I am not sure) that the new tech that comes with UE5 is very memory intensive, and therefore on the already memory-heavy game pretty useless, as it makes the situation in no way any better. And if that's correct, and not just an excuse, then it makes complete sense to not upgrade at all, for the time being. Until its worth it. EDIT: Found it "Depends on how this would be done. But that is not needed at all. It already uses techniques to reduce the amount of used memory and render performance. There is nothing much more you could do yet. It's well optimised already. And the people who now would come with UE5 and its Nanite tech. This new fancy stuff needs even more memory to store the mesh data. All Nanite is good for is save development time and have consistent render performance, but not memory." -TSG, here: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/clutter-we-need-more-clutter.71132/#post-671042
UE5 is not coming any time soon as it would basically mean abandoning all existing DLC. Although I don't buy this whole "no plans to ditch Gen8", DTG will know how many units they need to sell to make it economically viable to continue to support gen8 and they'll have forecasts on when gen 8 sales will drop below that figure, true it wont be accurate to the month, but I'd be surprised if they don't have it forecasted to within a financial quarter. It may even come as a gradual step, for example US routes might drop Gen8 before UK & German routes.
Maybe they could make gen 8 console URE 4 and gen 9 consoles URE 5 because there's no point having the tag for gen 9 consoles "next gen graphics".
And plus Sony will not be making no more games for the PS4 next year Xbox have already done it I think so I think it's now time we get "next gen graphics"
What part of UE5 means abandoning existing DLC are you not comprehending? Or are you just ignoring this fact because it doesn't fit your narative?
Existing TSW3 DLC (and before) wont work in UE5 without major work, which will never be economical, are you willing to give up your collection and return to 1 maybe 2 different trains on a route whilst they build up a new catalogue? Because quite frankly I (and Im certain I wont be alone in this view) wouldnt be.
The only possible way would be to basically have TSW4 or whatever as bi-engined with the capability of running UE4 & UE5 although Ive no idea if this is possible let alone practical as it would in effect be 2 games in 1. But you'd still have the issue of no stock layering into UE5 routes unless rebuilding trains into UE5 isnt a massive cost and work.
Very sceptical about this supposed leak, but at the same time kinda not surprised with some of the decisions DTG have made over time. Can see this alienating more of the player base than the current switch already did, but depends if the current player base is enough to keep it up. Would love to see Gen8 dropped, DLSS support and further features to steam, don't think any of that will come to pass though.
I heard that on the 700 stream they have plans for BLM. • Class 455? • Bug fixes? • 700 layer? • rush hour passengers?
I wasn't referring to every older route, pick and choose just a few of the most popular and best former TSW routes - all Rush Hour routes are a great start, as already seen with Boston Sprinter. Anyway, I'd argue in my opinion that not everyone is screaming for new routes all the time - with exception of SEHS and potentially Niddletalbahn, TSW 3 has no route that has really been exceptional. Plus, there's always the potential of a newer route being shorter in length, or empty due to a lack of rolling stock etc. While I would like to see new routes, I'd also like them to have at least one less new route and instead have an older TSW route - which we know is already great due to the timetable/length/interesting route in general - upgraded in it's place, surely that's a win-win no?
