Looking good, can understand the reasons for it not appearing on the Brighton Main Line but expect we will see it one day. Personally I would re do the whole of the BML timetable with the current day one as it would flow a lot better.

They are a good unit, it’s just a shame the Government had to get involved and choose those awful seats.
I like the fact that the motorised axles have tread brakes, helps during the autumn.

Um, are you forgetting the 385, 395, 375, 377, 387 and 484 along with pre 00s units in modern liveries. All of these look modern. I think we need dome more old content such as what JT are delivering.

Technically then we ought to get some brake rub sound!

Not been on one but I assume the seats are similar to those on the Hitachi 800's or the GW 387's, i.e. a bit of carpet like cloth scraped over a plastic frame. Had to stand both ways on a 800 the other week going down to Bristol Parkway for a retired Controllers do and must admit probably not much less uncomfortable than sitting down on those things. I miss the HST's!

The seats on the 700s are worse than the 80xs which I find quite nice (though I've never travelled on a GW one) but fit your description. Saying that I feel they have a good shape to them though.
A seat I don't like are the GN/GX 387s and I would say the 700s are slightly worse than them.

GWR started off with the original whiteish colour design which were quite awful. Most have been retrofitted with the slightly less uncomfortable dark grey type, but they are still very firm to sit on.

I don’t know if this has been addressed already, but on the preview stream there is no (or very little) in the way of rain depicted on the windscreen looking from the inside to outside. This is becoming increasingly commonplace.

Will this be rectified for release?

I've spent time on both but mostly 377s I have to say the seats feel as bad on both imo. :D But I would prefer the 700 just as it breaks up the electeostars! :)

That's easy to say, but Scenario Planner only allows for A to B routes.

Making a scenario for it and having it available to select from timetable mode are two separate things.

JD mentioned about the stop markers for the 700 not launching and won’t be out at release. That it will come at a later date. Does it mean they are going to come out when he AC route 700 is release in September…. Yes I’m speculating

    Solution idea

For the sounds, during the ten in ten or something similar just do a sound set video like some other developers do for their train sound packs

From those you mention only the 385 looks new to me. But I don't really understand UK trains. Most of the trains look like they are refurbished trains. Probably because we used to have those models a long time ago. The 375 already looks very old to me as It was only when I started playing this game I realised they still are being developed. For me the 700 looks totally out of place in the UK rolling stock. Most of the UK trains used in the game you don't see anymore on the mainland. This one looks like a familiar train for once :D

Well personally all the german trains is game look older than the trains I mention so it is clearly just a thing of personal taste. The primary reason you don't recognise the designs is becasue the British loading gauge is different so naturally our trains will look different along with other factors such as raised platforms being the standard here so the trains don't have to cater for platforms as low as some of the ones in Europe. Basically the British railway network is a totally different beast to the European network and so requires a different spec of rolling stock.

One last thing I forgot is that the 700 slots very nicely into its surroundings with 80xs and 717s on the ECML, Meridians on the MML and Electrostars in the southeast. The only pre 2000 design they run in regular traffic alongside are the 225s and networkers I believe.

Fair enough but there are only a handful still running, though I should have remembered about them considering I was stuck behind one today. The sooner we replace those the better.

I will edit them into the other post.

Nah, the 91s are for nostalgia.

    The Azumas are for comfort.

The Azuma seats are not comfortable.
Edit especially on the LNER ones.

Oh yes, the Azumas aren't bad comfort wise but don't quite beat the 91s. My comment was from more of an operational point of view as they are showing their age, especially when you have a day operating a 225 set and the next on an Azuma. Also from the view of a bog standard passenger they will be looking outadated even after receiving their new, old guise.
You would think so but, well, let's just see what the future holds. Hopefully we will have them replaced by more 9 car Azumas ASAP but I think Vern's got more chance of a MK1 buffet.

True the worst are the ironing board seats.
Edit: they are uncomfortable on any train.

I quite like the seats. Although I am more inclined to the 91s purely because of their age.

Can only speak for the LNER 800s though, haven't been on any others.

I presume by Azumas you meant the 80xs/IEPS/AT300s. If so there are units which aren't with us in much worse condition.

Well, after reading the above, I feel quite privileged to sit in my soft, comfy, leathery Metra commuter seat, though there are some plastic flip- downs for those in the bike area and the upper levels are not quite so nice.

I remember the seats on the NJT are quite comfortable, too.

Haven't ridden on an MTA train for ages, so couldn't comment on LIRR or Metro North.

You would be mad to buy anything day 1, once they have your money you are an alpha maybe beta tester at best.

And if it does turn out to be a dud, which seems unlikely, on Steam at least you have the infamous 2 hour refund window.

However the vibe I’m getting is that a lot of attention has gone into this, particularly if as being speculated, the 700 is going to feature elsewhere later on this summer.

Absolutely no White Knight here. I believe in praise if due and critical constructive feedback if not. More than a few products I’ve left on the shelf recently due to perceived quality or other issues. Even Glossop I was sceptical about but in the end purchased it and didn’t regret my decision.

Agreed, while not being my particular cup of tea, I don't regret buying Glossop either, I just hope that the uk gets something more substantial next, like a section of the Ecml for example.

Well that would give the 700 a chance to really stretch it's legs with the non stop runs between Finsbury Park and Stevenage.

You'll get your buffet car one day I'm sure, saying that though, a class 55 with an updated rake of Mk1's with a buffet car would make a very good railtour pack imo.

Is that a source for the talk going around? As a customer who owns every Route and DLC from the beginning in 2017, I would say that a TSW4 in 2023 would seem a difficult pill to swallow with the history of troubled releases and fixes, as well as what TSW3 turned out to be when first released. However, if TSW4 was a migration to UE 5, that is intriguing.

If the 377 is clean, then the 377. Most of the time they are dirty so I prefer the 700

What so if you get on a 377 and it's dirty do you get off it and wait for a 700 then?
