    Hey there,

I've read numerous times on these forums that you can use a keyboard even when playing on consoles. Thus far I was too lazy to disconnect the one from my PC, but just now I remembered that I had a spare cheapo one stored away somewhere.

Boy, does that make a difference! With no setup at all, the game becomes so much better: Getting rid of the HUD with a button (F1), using the flyby camera (8, then using arrow keys and shift together with the right stick to position yourself), using the fps counter (F3) to see e.g. how a busy station taxes the engine, and more!

So my advice to any console user is: Get yourself a keyboard!

You could always get rid of the HUD on console by pressing and holding the start button.

But the rest is good to get back from the 2020 days. I hate that they took the teleport back to cab button away from console controllers. It very very handy to have. Have use a keyboard to get that feature back.

As a side note if you use Remote Play on PC you can also use all your keyboard controls from your PC because Remote Play has full keyboard support. No mouse support though so you'll still need a controller to pan the camera but that's about it. Playing on PS5 is virtually the same experience as playing on PC, just not a top-of-the-line PC.

You're right of course, but I always thought holding start for a moment was a little awkward, especially when trying to get that special moment for a great screenshot or flyby. F1 is way faster and more convenient.

The converted have been saying this for years. There’s no way I would play TSW without a keyboard attached. I wouldn’t want to use it for the driving controls though like the poor people on PC do, we are blessed that the controller triggers are king there, but the keyboard shortcuts for all kinds of other functions are a must.

Hmm, I have to give it a try.

Right now, driving with use of PS5 dualsense, the only thing I miss is to acknowledge SIFA separately so I wouldn't have to hear that "zug-something" voice announcement every time.

I highly recommend it. Being able to switch to any view you want as well as access to some of those other handy shortcuts like removing hud elements with one shortcut. You can actually speed the camera up using the shift key (and navigate using the arrow keys). You can use cruise control, return to lap, and the PZB/SIFA controls using a single key instead of operations shift. Another thing is you can use classic controls if you prefer and the keyboard commands will remain the same. They'll even be the same through TSW2020 -> TSW3 (Although TSW2020 has a pesky annoyance in that one of the brake keys doesn't function properly on PS4)

https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/keyboard-shortcuts-keyboard-mapping-here-it-is.25433/ Here are most of the default mappings, I think this is missing the steam controls that came later.

The full list of keyboard shortcuts is available (and configurable) in game on the PC version but they aren't exposed at all on my PS5. I'm wondering if the game could be smart and detect that I have installed a keyboard and expose those settings to me?
