No, it doesn’t. The 700 is not on BML because the dispatcher routine can’t handle the extra traffic volume, and that would be true running on a Cray supercomputer
I don't know the BML route in real life but from what I understand to be reading here DTG could scrap one of the two electrostars, replace the services of that electrostar with services of the 700 and everyone would be very happy except for the very few fans of the one electrostar that would be removed? Who cares about those electrofans? Let's do it! Bring the 700 to BML
I'm not going to lie I'm not that impressed if I must admit, this is what everyone's been holding out and excited for? Maybe I don't get it because I'm not a southerner, never seen one in my life. It's a cool looking train though. All right I mean it's alright I suppose, it's not particularly fast and I'm not a fan of the gradual tbc I prefer notched, but that's the train and not anything to do with how it's been put into the game. For me it's mega quiet on xbox one x, why do I have to turn my tv up another couple of notches so I can still barely hear it. No other trains on any other dlc are like that. Then a 465 or javelin comes by and I'm deaf. And what's with this aws delay? Does anyone know if thats prototypical of this emu?
The sound is a bit of a mess quite frankly and (no pun intended) DTG seem to have gone very silent on the matter. After finishing my drive on a German route just to test the AC, it's gone back in the box until the sound gets sorted and it gets a more interesting native route to run on.
It's only this slow cause we are running it on DC on this route. If you stick it on AC it accelerates very quickly, and IMO is a lot more fun. So hopefully we get an AC route for it soon. (ECML South Please).
So wanted to give my honest opinion I went and tried the TSC AP 700 and you're correct, The sounds are there they just need to dial it up. the A/C sounds are very low compare to The TSC version. If the get the sounds corrected this would be a 9/10. I still think is the better version out of all 3 with the working tms. which the AP does'nt have , also the activating the safety system , and the PIS in TSW3 is much better. We can't beat the price. Also I think this is serving a purpose. We are providing all the feedbacks and hopefully fix before the 700/1 comes
Its a good model and done very well but there are a few issues, firstly the sounds as others have pointed out though I think a lot of the issues are with TSW in general like loud passengers talking at stations even though there is hardly anyone there. The lighting in the unit, cab seems too bright, difficult to see the door interlock light, though to me lighting is an issue thats always been in TSW. The open doors button should only release the doors not open them, they only all get opened though the Thameslink Core. I would love to use the scenario planner to add them to the BML but without the proper paths/station stops needed and not being able to input proper times I can't be bothered, suppose just to take one for a spin to/from Brighton would be ok but would be nice to do more.
For anyone with issues on Epic Games getting the Class 700 to show, we believe this to now be fixed. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/update-class-700-for-epic-players.71541/ Thanks for your patience!
So i've just driven the Class 395 service 5F20, which is an empty run from London St Pancras to Faversham, departing around 07.55 between Gravesend and Rainham, there was NO Class 700 services passing whatsoever in either direction. It seems that running a service that isn't a class 700, means that you don't see any class 700 AI services around. i'm on PS4 pro
5.75 refunded back for the heavy pack that I already own. Meaning paid 9.85 for the 700. Couldn’t ask for a better deal. As a token of good faith I will buy another DLC tonight
What a ridiculously frustrating release this has been for me. I've been watching several gameplay streams of people playing on PS5, and they all have working destination screens on their trains. Why aren't mine working? And I've heard literally NO ONE say anything about AI trains not turning on any of the lights. All of the gameplay videos I watched seemed to have AI trains properly using the lights. I'm genuinely so confused and frustrated by this. Am I seriously the only one getting these two issues?
I did one of the BML scenarios on the creators club, and the AI definitely have their lights on. As an aside, BML feels like a new route now you can actually see out the windscreen.
My first Class 700 service 9P95 @ 00:26. At rochester and chatham stations, Stop markers are wrong. I stopped at 8car boards for both, but doesnt acknowledge the train, so have to move to the 10-12 car boards for both stations. Wonder how many others i will find as i go down the list. Oh and the looping wheels grinding noise is anoying and also the aws bing sounds nasty, more a mushy noise than a nice bing sound.
The xbox series s is a next gen console but it required a less busy timetable (don't think it's been released yet) due to memory limitations as mentioned officially by dtg.
Does anyone have an issue with the AWS going off and despite acknowledging it the penalty brakes come on. The brakes then wont release unless i turn the AWS off. When i get the brakes release and turn the AWS back on the penalty brake come right back on. I had to finish my run with AWS turned off.
the class 700 like it alot and raildriver works good for me pc. just put in sound mod and the horn are louder. pc only
Do you remember where it happened and what exactly happened? Like was it towards a red light or something like that? What speed you were going, etc. It could also be tpws but I'm not sure
The AWS clear signal bell is accurate as is the warning horn to the real train they're a lot different to other stock that I drive IRL too.
This is half the issue with 'sound problems', what people expect or assume they should hear, isn't always what the actuality is.
I had this restoring a save game with the AWS on. Must have coincided with passing over an AWS ramp but when the game loaded I had an instant penalty brake application but fortunately remembered from the DadRail review how to recover. Either way I did not get time to hit “q” and as noted in line with the rest of the interior sound the AWS horn is so quiet as to be almost inaudible. Certainly not like it should be IRL…
Despite reading about it's failings in the sound department and one or two other usual niggles, I decided to pick it up as I qualified for the bundle discount of £7.53 - can't argue with that. It's not something I'd of paid £15/£20 for.
Some feedback from me: 1. There are no shadows under the train. Really breaks immersion when viewing from the outside 2. The passenger door closing clunk is too loud when sat in the cab. Almost sounds like a 465. The door closing should be very soft as it is on the outside of the train. 3. The stopping markers at Rochester and Rainham in service mode are at the 12 car stop marker rather than the 8 and if you stop at the 12 it doesn't register. Other than that a very nice recreation of the real life unit from DTG. Handles well and is a pleasure to drive.
Relevant to above, everytime I open Southeastern High-speed and go "On Foot" it has no 700's running Class 700 is Downloaded. I'm on PS4
I can't even get going in any of the scenarios, let alone finish one! The scenarios load up just fine, but on every one i am starting at a red signal and after the instructions tell me to apply power to get moving, after 5 minutes of waiting the signal remains at red. I've tried the "contact the signaller" tab, but nothing doing! Is anybody else finding this, or am i simply just being impatient? Thanks.
Are you remaining stationary or are you moving forward towards the signal. Sometimes the red light only changes when you reset the DRA (if on) or you move a few yards towards signal. I’m presuming you’ve tried contacting signaller ?
I asked this yesterday evening and even tagged JD and Matt in, although I'm sure they are well aware of this thread and its contents. Response = zero. Either they don't want to admit yet again something has released with major shortcomings following the hype, or thinking more positively the audio guy has been hustled back in the studio and told to sort things out along with the various other members of the team resonsible.
that's really interesting, if i drive a class 700 from the timetable mode then there is class 700 ai around, but any other time (ie spawn on foot or select to drive any other train type) the class 700 is nowhere to be seen, which is disappointing
Botched sound. Botched PIS (not loading again with save game). Stop markers to tight radius. Plus numerous other issues mentioned in the thread. Not to mention limited to running on the most boring tedious part of SEHS but “no plans” to put it anywhere else.
Botched sound is arguable, don't know about the PIS, I never enter the pax area, these really aren't "major shortcomings", as for SEHS, this was well known prior to release, and there are a whole raft of scenarios on the CC to put it elsewhere. Definitely a case of glass half empty.
While I agree that the sounds need to be turned up a notch, I really wouldn't say that the 700 has 'major shortcomings' I'm really satisfied and pleased with the product that Dtg have provided but that's just my opinion.
Guess it's all subjective. Not saying the 700 is bad and maybe "major" shortcomings was a little strong. However the combination of all the niggles has turned anticipation for something that promised to be a bit special into slight disappointment at what appears to be another less than perfect release. So it's basically back in the box for me.
I guess let’s look at the glass half full/empty side. We did get it at a really good price and not 19.99 US dollars
I'll be honest, I don't get the hullaballoo about the Class 700 at all, maybe not being a train aficionado means I miss some nuance!!!. It's a personal opinion, but I can't find anything approaching "back in the box" territory, hopefully they can fix it and make it, "out of the box" worthy.
The sound I would say needs tweaking, personally I wouldn't say the 700 is anywhere close to being bad though I am enjoying it very much, I have downloaded the very good community sound patch. It isn't really the sort of train I could normally get excited about, but it "completes" SEHS, adds some variety and it is different to drive especially with its panoramic view. I do look forward to seeing it on other routes.
I'm sorry, the 700 does not have any major shortcomings on the sounds. I travel on the unit almost every day and the sounds are pretty much spot on. Sure, one or two things are a bit off and the sounds are a tad on the quiet side but these are minor issues. Overall DTG have done a very good job on the sounds, for the PC version at least. Can't comment if it sounds the same on PS/Xbox.
The chosen route will quickly get boring. In fact one trip from Dartford to Rainham did it for me. Utter tedium. Maybe back out the box if/when it gets a BML layer (and yes I'm well aware of all that's been said on that) or better a native route release. However the train is not enough to drag me off the two steam routes, TVL with the 31's or even BCC and Glossop where the Class 323 is an example of how to do a modern(ish) train quite well.
I bought into the hype it was going to be the pinnacle of modern EMU's in TSW. Something else to try in the game. The offer with the ROG and RHTT packs was a good one. It didn't come over that bad in the previews and DadRail review. Anyhow as I said, get the sound levels and looping fixed and a better route where it can stretch its heels and I'm sure I'll come round.
I passed three yesterday driving an ordinary 375 service/ The 700s are in the timetable, so they run all of their services, whether payer or AI driven.
